(RepublicanWire.org) – A Republican senator has slammed the House’s January 6 committee for political bias, arguing while justice needs to be done, the right place for it isn’t a politicized committee out to smear as many Republicans as possible.

On February 6, Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) told CBS’s “Face the Nation” that anyone who broke the law during last January’s Capitol riots should be prosecuted, and pointed out that’s what’s happening. However, he said, “the January 6th commission is not the place to do this. That’s what prosecutors are supposed to do.”

Rubio said the commission is being used as a partisan tool focused on causing as much damage to Republicans as possible, including harassing people who weren’t even in Washington, DC that day. When host Margaret Brennan tried to divert him by asking about the two Republican members of the Commission – Representatives Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) – Rubio stressed it’s the commission as a whole that’s doing this.

The main charge Rubio laid against the commission is it’s expanding its purview to look beyond the actual riot, and persecuting Americans who were involved in legitimate political discourse. He finished by dismissing the heavily-biased committee, which is made up of seven Democrats and two anti-Trump Republicans, as “a complete partisan scam.”

(RepublicanWire.org) – Following the January 6 Capitol riot, 10 GOP House members voted to impeach former President Donald Trump for “incitement of insurrection.” In the year since Trump was acquitted in the Senate impeachment trial, the ten lawmakers have been ostracized, three of whom have declined reelection bids and the others are facing Trump-backed primary opponents.

For the seven who are seeking reelection, whether they fail or succeed during the bid will be an indicator of Trump’s influence in the GOP.

Rep. Anthony Gonzalez (R-OH)
In September 2021, Gonzalez announced he would not be seeking reelection. The Ohio congressman said threats towards his family following his impeachment vote had played a role in his decision, coupled with his recent disillusionment in the GOP following Trump’s actions.

Rep. John Katko (R-N.Y.)
The New York Republican announced he wouldn’t be seeking reelection earlier in the month. His vote to impeach Trump added to a long list of why he drew the former President’s ire. Katko has supported President Biden’s bipartisan infrastructure bill, negotiated to form the independent commission on the Capital riots, and voted to remove Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA.) in February of last year.

Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL)
Kinzinger announced in October that he would not be seeking reelection in this year’s midterms following the Democrat-led states redistricting process, making Kinzinger’s district friendlier to Democrats.

Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI)
Although Upton, a longtime Michigan lawmaker, will likely run in this year’s midterms, the Congressman has not yet announced a reelection bid. However, in a tweet published in December, Upton touted “bipartisan consensus putting policy over politics” as what would help him win reelection if he were to run.

Rep. Peter Meijer (R-MI.)
Days after being sworn in for his first term in Congress, Meijer voted to impeach Trump. Although the Michigan Republican is seeking reelection, the primary could be challenging as his district has become friendlier to Democrats following Michigan’s redistricting process.

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY.)
After voting with the former President 93% of the time, Cheney, Wyoming’s only representative, began a vocal criticism of Trump leading up to the Capitol riot and during the January 6 attack on the Capitol. Following her vote, she stepped down from her role as chairwoman of the Republican Conference but was appointed to the select committee responsible for investigating the events of January 6.

Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-WA.)
During this year’s midterm elections, the six-term Washington state lawmaker faces several primary challengers, including Joe Kent, a GOP challenger backed by Trump. After casting her vote to impeach Trump, Herrera Beutler detailed a call between the former President and Congressman Kevin McCarthy where Trump castigated McCarthy for not sharing the same anger at the election results as rioters were.

Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA.)
Newhouse will seek reelection in the 4th District but won’t face any Trump-backed challengers despite several primary opponents.

Rep. David Valadao (R-CA)
Valadao will be facing multiple challengers in the newly drawn Democratic-leaning 22nd District.

Rep. Tom Rice
A surprise vote, Rice’s vote to impeach Trump was seen by many of his colleagues as an accident. But the South Carolina Representative would squash those ideas when he went on record saying he regretted voting against certifying Biden’s victory. Now, Rice faces at least ten primary challengers.

(RepublicanWire.org) – He didn’t announce whether he would launch another campaign for the presidency, but former President Donald Trump pledged at his first rally of 2022 that come 2024, “we are going to take back the White House.”

And speaking in front of a sea of supporters gathered at the Country Thunder festival grounds in Florence, Arizona, Trump delivered what sounded like his first stump speech of a possible 2024 campaign.

Trump repeatedly took aim at President Biden, who defeated him in the 2020 presidential election. Trump deemed his successor in the White House “incompetent” and blasted Biden on a wide range of issues, including the coronavirus pandemic, the economy, foreign policy and crime.

While Trump looked ahead to 2024 as well as this year’s midterm elections – he predicted that “a great red wave is going to begin right here in Arizona” and vowed that “this is the year we take back the House, this is the year we take back the Senate” – he spent much of his speech looking back to his 2020 election loss to Biden.

The former president repeated his unfounded claims that the 2020 election was “rigged” and once again claimed that “I ran twice and we won twice.”

It was no surprise that Trump chose Arizona to kick off his first rally of the new year. Besides being a key battleground in the 2022 midterms, with high profile showdowns for Senate and governor, it is also one of a half-dozen states where Biden narrowly edged Trump in 2020 to win the White House.

Last year, a Trump-fueled and GOP-driven partisan audit of votes was conducted in Maricopa County, Arizona’s most populous county. Results of the review found that Trump received a couple of hundred fewer votes than the results from the certified election.

On Deck

Trump’s second rally of 2022 will take place on Saturday, Jan. 29, in Conroe, Texas, which is north of Houston.

The former president’s Save America PAC announced on Friday that the rally would be held at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. It comes one month for primary day in Texas.

A source close to Trump told Fox News that the former president plans to hold roughly two rallies per month going forward.

Trump vs. DeSantis

Did Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis add fuel to the fire in what seems like a burgeoning spat between the popular conservative governor and the former president?

DeSantis has seen his popularity surge among Republican voters in his state and around the nation over the past year and a half, thanks in large part to his combative pushback against COVID-19 restrictions amid the coronavirus pandemic.

After Trump last week said in an interview that politicians who won’t publicly say whether they’ve received a COVID vaccine booster shot are “gutless” – which was widely seen as a shot at DeSantis –  the governor appeared to return fire Friday in an interview on the popular conservative podcast “Ruthless.”

DeSantis said he should have been “much louder” in trying to convince Trump to oppose lockdowns as the pandemic was sweeping the nation in February and March 2020.

And the governor touted that “when COVID was first coming… I was telling Trump ‘stop the flights from China’ because we didn’t know what we were dealing with.”

DeSantis shut down Florida as the pandemic engulfed the nation, but was also one of the first governors in 2020 to lift coronavirus restrictions.

DeSantis, a former congressman who was narrowly elected Florida governor in 2018 in part thanks to then-President Trump’s support, is running for reelection this year. And he’s polled a consistent – and distant – second to Trump in most of the early 2024 GOP presidential nomination polls.

Asked about his rising popularity among Republican voters nationwide, DeSantis said in his “Ruthless” interview “I think what people see, quite frankly, Republicans, they want to see people actually lead and get things done and fight back. And that’s what we’ve done. We’ve had to do it tooth and nail. We don’t back down from anybody. And we do things. And so, I don’t just wait for things to happen.”

Trump has predicted that if he runs for the White House again, DeSantis won’t run. The governor has deflected when asked about 2024. “It’s way down the road. It’s not anything that I’m planning for,” DeSantis said in a Fox News interview last autumn.https://5112d14361f49db37ba00891f9dcf1ae.safeframe.googlesyndication.com/safeframe/1-0-38/html/container.html

And DeSantis blamed the media for talk of any tensions with the former president.

“I think this is what the media does, and you cannot fall for the bait. You know what they’re trying to do. Don’t take the bait, and just kind of keep on keeping on. We need everybody united for a big red wave in 2022,” the governor argued.

2024 poll

A Quinnipiac University national poll conducted Jan. 7-10 and released last week had some tough numbers for both Trump and President Biden.

The president’s approval rating dropped to just 33% in the survey.

And by a 59%-33% margin, those questioned said they wouldn’t like to see Trump run again.

According to the poll, 69% of Republicans want to see Trump run again. But that’s down from 78% who said the same thing in Quinnipiac’s October survey.

Nothing escapes the eyes of former President Donald J. Trump, who reportedly sits and watches upwards of 10 hours of television, seven days a week.

Just moments ago, the former president went into attack mode and slammed United States Senator Mike Rounds, a Republican elected to the Senate with Trump’s endorsement in 2020.

According to a statement issued by Trump:

“Senator” Mike Rounds of the Great State of South Dakota just went woke on the Fraudulent Presidential Election of 2020. He made a statement this weekend on ABC Fake News, that despite massive evidence to the contrary, including much of it pouring in from Wisconsin, Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and other states, he found the election to be ok—just fine. Is he crazy or just stupid? The numbers are conclusive, and the fraudulent and irregular votes are massive. The only reason he did this is because he got my endorsement and easily won his state in 2020, so now he thinks he has time, and those are the only ones, the weak, who will break away. Even though his election will not be coming up for 5 years, I will never endorse this jerk again.

It’s RINOs like this that are allowing the Democrats to destroy our Nation! Our Borders, our Military, our Economy, Inflation, the horrible handling of the China Virus and Afghanistan, and rampant crime throughout our Democrat-run cities are ripping our Country apart. We are a laughingstock throughout the world when we were respected and even feared just 1 year ago. There were no thoughts of Russia with Ukraine, China with Taiwan, Iran with nuclear weapons, or North Korea with nasty statements.

The Radical Left Democrats and RINOS, like “Senator” Mike Rounds, do not make it easy for our Country to succeed. He is a weak and ineffective leader, and I hereby firmly pledge that he will never receive my Endorsement again! -Donald J. Trump

(RepublicanWire.org) – Yesterday, it was reported that President Joe Biden said the following during his speech at the United States Capitol in Washington DC today commemorating the first anniversary of the violent protest that took place there on January 6, 2021:

“Let’s speak plainly about what happened in 2020. Even before the first ballot was cast, the former president was preemptively sowing doubt about the election results. He built his lie over months. It wasn’t based on any facts. He was just looking for an excuse, a pretext, to cover for the truth. He’s not just a former president. He’s a defeated former president. Defeated by a margin of over 7 million of your votes, in a full and free and fair election. There is simply zero proof the election results were inaccurate. In fact, in every venue, where evidence had to be produced, an oath to tell the truth had to be taken, the former president failed to make his case. Just think about this. The former president and his supporters have never been able to explain how they accept as accurate the other election results that took place on November 3rd.”

Now, former President Trump has responded:

“To watch Biden speaking is very hurtful to many people. They’re the ones who tried to stop the peaceful transfer with a rigged election. Just look at the numbers. Does anybody really think that Biden beat Obama with the Black population in select Swing State cities, but nowhere else? That he would lose 18 out of 19 bellwether counties, and 27 out of 27 “toss up” House races, but somehow miraculously receive the most votes in American history with no coattails? That he would lose Florida, Ohio, and Iowa and win, even though it has never been done before?

“They spread a “web of lies” about me and Russia for 4 years to try to overturn the 2016 election, and now they lie about how they interfered in the 2020 Election, too. Big Tech was used illegally.

“Where did all those votes show up from in Georgia, where it was just revealed they sold ballots for $10 a piece, or in Pennsylvania, and Arizona, and Wisconsin. He acts like he’s aggrieved, but we’re the ones who were aggrieved and America is suffering because of it with poisonous Borders, record Inflation, a humiliating surrender in Afghanistan, $5 a gallon gas and higher, empty stock shelves, and rampant crime. America is a laughingstock stock of the world, and it’s all because of the real insurrection, which took place on November 3rd, but this is an election year and MAGA Republicans should get elected and work with me to fix this horror that Joe Biden and the Democrats have brought us.

“Never forget the crime of the 2020 Presidential Election. Never give up!

It appears the verbal battle between the two presidents will continue for quite some time.

(RepublicanWire.org) – When you know you’re about to get caught you start making things up to deflect attention or avoid getting caught. It’s a natural human thing to do. However, a 3-year warning of the failure to come in 2024 is beyond rational. It’s almost as if they see how much most of America hates what has happened in the last year so much that they are not willing to stick by the current administration but are too lazy to do anything about it.

When the leftist rag The Atlantic began publishing a story called ‘Trump’s Next Coup Has Already Begun’ you know it’s going to be some very divisive and hatful reading. This article focuses on trying to poke holes in conservative logic but does a horrific job of it. They simply re-organize facts to fit their desires, but nothing to identify the truth.

Barton Gellman’s way of telling the tale is to provide ‘amusing’ anecdotes and tall tales. Flipping facts around and stitching together commonly held beliefs thinking that might make them facts is his MO. It all is based on a few key points. “For more than a year now, with tacit and explicit support from their party’s national leaders, state Republican operatives have been building an apparatus of election theft. Elected officials in Arizona, Texas, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, and other states have studied Donald Trump’s crusade to overturn the 2020 election. They have noted the points of failure and have taken concrete steps to avoid failure next time. Some of them have rewritten statutes to seize partisan control of decisions about which ballots to count and which to discard, which results to certify, and which to reject. They are driving out or stripping power from election officials who refused to go along with the plot last November, aiming to replace them with exponents of the Big Lie.”

While Gellman loves trying to poke holes in facts with these statements, he really has no clue what he’s talking about. He instead just makes up things that fit his ideas and tries to get the people to buy them. Given the left’s inability to accept any viewpoint held by a non-leftist and you are in a vicious circle of self-butt kissing. This means the left gives themselves award after award. This in turn gives Gellman’s work a lot of ‘credit’ among the mainstream and leftist media which is one in the same these days.

Gellman misses the entire point and connects the dots to things that do not exist. As his article states “Consistently, around the world, they tended to be in their 20s and early 30s. Among the January 6 insurgents, the median age was 41.8. That was wildly atypical. Then there were economic anomalies. Over the previous decade, one in four violent extremists arrested by the FBI had been unemployed. But only 7 percent of the January 6 insurgents were jobless, and more than half of the group had a white-collar job or owned their own business. There were doctors, architects, a Google field operations specialist, the CEO of a marketing firm, a State Department official. “The last time America saw middle-class whites involved in violence was the expansion of the second KKK in the 1920s,” Pape told me.”

He loves relying on the words of Robert A. Pape; a University of Chicago professor and fellow crackpot conspiracy theorist. Both men directly feed into each other’s goals and ideals, and both forget that correlation is not causation. As such, things don’t always line up as cleanly or as well as you think they do. However, that is no mind to Gellman or the rest of the left. If it lines up to fit their narrative, or if they can readjust how it lines up so it works for the narrative, then it’s a big win for them. These people are wrong, but what are we going to do to stop them?

(RepublicanWire.org) – If you hadn’t heard, the woman who took down New York State’s corrupt former governor, Andrew Cuomo, is seeking his recently vacated seat. In fact, many believe her desire for the governorship was what fueled her investigation and findings into the supposed sexual assault allegations against Cuomo in the first place.

However, after months of confirming that New York Attorney General Letitia James would be running, she has now announced that she will be dropping out of the race entirely.

Why?

Well, there are really only two possible reasons.

One is that the interim New York governor, Democrat Kathy Hochul, has already won over the people enough to the point that James has virtually no chance to win against her. According to CNBC News, James was already some 18 points behind Hochul in the polls, just two months after making her gubernatorial run announcement.

Of course, that’s not the reason James is giving as to why she’s giving up on the chance at the governor’s mansion.

Instead, she says she simply needs to finish what she and her office have started. Per a report from the Post Millennial, James has “come to the conclusion that I must continue my work as attorney general. There are a number of important investigations and cases that are underway, and I intend to finish the job.”

And that leads us to reason number two.

One such investigation is the one she’s been trying to ruin former President Donald Trump with for years now. Since 2019, James has been looking into the Trump organization’s practices and real estate holdings, claiming that something fishy is going on, and she believes it is a case of civil fraud.

Now, to be clear, James was and still is heavily involved in a criminal investigation being run by Manhattan’s district attorney, Cyrus R. Vance Jr. But the civil fraud investigation is of her own design and making and completely separate from that of Vance’s.

According to the Washington Post, James believes fraud could have “permeated the Trump Organization,” and she means to get to the bottom of it.

In an effort to do just that, ABC News has reported that she’s requested Trump himself to sit for a deposition in early January.

But Trump and his lawyers are calling the whole process yet another “political witch hunt” by James and so they just might choose to fight the subpoena. According to The New York Times, one of Trump’s lawyers participated in an interview on Thursday saying that he would be asking for the judge to “quash the subpoena.”

According to Trump’s lawyers, the deposition request isn’t something they didn’t or couldn’t see coming. As the Times reported, Trump’s attorney Ronald P. Fischetti says, “This is what the A.G. has been doing, working hand in glove with the D.A.’s office” all along.

Already, hundreds of documents and records have been subpoenaed and handed over in the nearly three years since both the Vance and James investigations have begun. And yet, neither attorney seems to be any closer to finding anything even remotely damning enough to ruin either Trump himself or his businesses.

In the meantime, crime is skyrocketing in New York. Everything from petty theft and arson to full-fledged robberies and violent shootings in the city has increased – no doubt to their socialist mayor’s calls to support the defunding and limitation of police. And don’t even get me started on the rising problem of homelessness.

And yet, both the attorney general and the district attorney only seem to care about Donald Trump and some alleged fudging of numbers somewhere.

As was mentioned, a witch hunt…

Then again, some would say that James abdicating her run for governor, something she’s supposedly wanted for some time, means that she is, in fact, getting close. Perhaps, she thinks that finally taking down someone like Trump, one of America’s most controversial business and political minds, could give all the name cred she could ever want or need.

That is until something else comes along to ruffle her feathers.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Former President Trump said Tuesday that he is “very appreciative” and “surprised” that President Biden thanked him and his administration for their success in making COVID-19 vaccines available to the public, telling Fox News that “tone” and “trust” are critical in getting Americans vaccinated.

Biden on Tuesday afternoon announced increased testing capacity and expanded access to vaccines and support for hospitals across the country amid a surge in cases of the omicron variant, which the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced this week makes up more than 73% of new infections in the country.

“Thanks to the prior administration and our scientific community, America is one of the first countries to get the vaccine,” Biden said Tuesday. “Thanks to my administration, the hard work of Americans, we let, our roll-out, made America among the world leaders in getting shots in arms.”

In an exclusive interview with Fox News Tuesday evening, Trump reacted to Biden acknowledging his administration’s efforts.

“I’m very appreciative of that — I was surprised to hear it,” Trump told Fox News. “I think it was a terrific thing, and I think it makes a lot of people happy.”

Trump then repeated that he was “a little bit surprised.”

“I think he did something very good,” Trump said. “You know, it has to be a process of healing in this country, and that will help a lot.”

The Trump administration created Operation Warp Speed, a public-private partnership to create vaccines against the novel coronavirus, as the pandemic raged in 2020. Under his administration, the Food and Drug Administration approved emergency use authorizations (EUAs) for the Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines.

Trump in December 2020 signed an executive order that would ensure all Americans had access to coronavirus vaccines before the U.S. government could begin aiding nations around the world. https://ed739f93acef555d96de4c4fbf179ddc.safeframe.googlesyndication.com/safeframe/1-0-38/html/container.html

“This is a great thing that we all did,” Trump said, referring to the roll-out of the COVID-19 vaccines. “I may have been the vehicle, but we all did this together.”

“When we came up with these incredible vaccines — three of them — and therapeutics, we did a tremendous job, and we should never disparage them,” Trump said. “We should be really happy about it because we’ve all saved millions and millions of lives all over the world.”

Trump, who is fully vaccinated, told Fox News that he received a booster dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. The former president was hospitalized with COVID-19 in October 2020.

For those still hesitant to receive a COVID vaccine, Trump said: “You have to embrace it. You don’t have to do it, and there can’t be mandates and all those things, but you have to embrace it.”

Trump said getting Americans vaccinated is “really a matter of tone” instead of mandates.

“It’s a matter of getting people out to, ideally, get the vaccine,” Trump said. “If you have the mandate, the mandate will destroy people’s lives — it destroys people’s lives, just as the vaccine saves people.”

He added: “I think that it’s really a question of tone. It’s a question of trust, and hopefully, the people that have had COVID, hopefully they will be given credit for that.”

Trump predicted that those who have already been infected with COVID-19 are “in pretty good shape of not getting it again, or getting it in a much lighter way.”

“They probably won’t catch it, but if they do get it, it’s not going to be nearly as severe, and there probably won’t be hospitals involved,” Trump said.

In March 2020, amid the first surge of COVID-19 cases in the United States, Trump moved to limit travel from China and later from Europe to the United States — a move he was criticized for.

Biden last month moved to limit travel from some African countries after the omicron variant was believed to have been first detected in South Africa but did not face as much criticism.

When asked for a reaction, Trump told Fox News: “It is a little tough to be overly critical now, because he just thanked us for the vaccine and thanked me for what I did. You know, that’s a first — so it is very tough for me to be overly critical now.”

“But, you know, we did shut it down, and we were criticized by some — we weren’t criticized by all,” Trump said. “And ultimately, they said we did the right thing. I think we saved hundreds of thousands of lives in our country by closing it down to China and then ultimately closing it down to Europe very early.”

“I think … people understand that now,” he said.

(RepublicanWire.org) –  Evidently, former President Donald J. Trump is no longer willing to play defense against the myriad of civil and criminal investigations and civil lawsuits that have plagued him since even before the day he left the White House.

In a breaking news report from the Daily Caller just moments ago comes the following:

“Former President Donald Trump filed a lawsuit against New York state Attorney General Letitia James on Monday amid ongoing inquires into his business.

“James’ lengthy inquiry into the Trump Organization began in March of 2019 and focuses on the company allegedly misrepresenting the value of its real estate assets, CNBC reported. At the same time, Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. has been conducting a criminal investigation over Trump’s business practices.

“The former president’s lawsuit against James accuses her of violating his constitutional rights and argues that the attorney general’s “mission is guided solely by political animus.” The lawsuit asks for the investigation to stop.” [emphasis added]

James immediately fired back, stating:

“To be clear, neither Mr. Trump nor the Trump Organization get to dictate if and where they will answer for their actions.”

What do you think? Do you agree or disagree with Trump’s accusation that James’ investigation “is guided solely by political animus”?

During a recent interview on CNN, Rep. Adam Schiff lost his mind due to many parts of the Christopher Steele dossier being discredited.

Schiff stated that former President Donald Trump should not be able to get away with what he has done during his presidency even though the dossier is discredited. He added that people still need to investigate Trump even though all of the allegations are discredited.

This news of the dossier being discredited has taken a toll on Schiff. He stated that individuals need to keep investigating Trump to find any “corrupt behavior” during his presidency.

When he was asked if he believes the allegations in the Steele dossier, Schiff stated that he does believe the allegations and said that many of those allegations have proven to be “too accurate.” He added that even though it has been discredited, it does not take away from Trump’s behavior during his presidency and the elections.

Schiff added that many sources believe former President Donald Trump was a corrupt president and presidential candidate in the 2016 election.

He stated that Trump attempted to get dirt on failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in 2016 to secure the election. He added that Americans need to believe that Trump was a corrupt president and that he needs to be investigated further.

Schiff’s remarks show that he is farther gone than many Americans initially thought. His comments show that he will do anything to bring down the former president.
