Rand Paul Proclaims Our Institutions Are Weaponized…

(RepubicanWire.org) – Wednesday, during an appearance on FNC’s “Fox and Friends” following the raid on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach, allegedly in the search for classified documents, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul claimed that the FBI is being used as a weapon against Biden’s political opponents.

According to Senator Paul this is demoralizing for our country because it takes away faith in federal law enforcement and our political institutions.

“I think this is an attack on our constitutional republic, I think this is an attack on the rule of law. This is the FBI being used as a political weapon against your opponents and do I think the director of the FBI knew? Absolutely. Do I think the Attorney General knew? Absolutely. I cant vouch for how far up they went and they may have tried to keep the White House at arms length. I wouldn’t be surprised if the White House knew.”

“I can tell you I’m not surprised with Christopher Wray, I’ve challenged him before on whether or not it’s constitutional to allow foreign intelligence warrants to be used against Americans. You remember when they spied on Trump to begin with it was a foreign intelligence court and warrant.”

“This is not really the same constitutional standard as the fourth amendment so they don’t have to prove probable cause. It’s a terrible thing we allowed to happen in our country. It should never be used against a Republican or a Democrat candidate buy he [Wray] allowed that and agrees with that so I’m not surprised he would also allow something like this to happen.”

“This is demoralizing for the country and it takes away so much faith in our law enforcement to say oh my goodness that they’re going to use the FBI to go after people they disagree with politically. This is a sad moment for our country.”

Senate Democrat Released A Disgusting Ad…

(RepublicanWire.org) – Kentucky Senate Democratic nominee, Charles Booker, released a disgusting ad attacking Senator Rand Paul with the suggestion that he’s pro-lynching.

Charles Booker, a former state lawmaker who is the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Kentucky, released a video Wednesday that attacks Paul for opposing an anti-lynching bill in 2020. The ad does not mention why Paul opposed the bill, or that he co-sponsored a new bipartisan version of that legislation this year that went on to become law.

“My opponent?” he continues, as an image of Paul grimacing appears. “The very person who compared expanded health care to slavery. The person who said he would have opposed the Civil Rights Act. The person who single-handedly blocked an anti-lynching act from being federal law.”

“The choice couldn’t be clearer,” Booker states as the camera shifts back to him. “Do we move forward together? Or do we let politicians like Rand Paul forever hold us back and drive us apart?”

The ad takes Rand Paul’s remarks and positions out of context, especially with regard to the anti-lynching proposal that he blocked.

In 2020 Paul held up a bill that would make lynching a federal hate crime, however, that’s not the full story. Paul said at the time that lynching should be “universally condemned,” but objected to language in the bill that included non-fatal injuries as lynching.

“If you’re gonna call something an anti-lynching bill, but you’re gonna have a new conspiracy charge for someone who has minor bruising, we don’t think that’s appropriate. And someone has to read these bills and make sure they do what they say they’re going to do rather than it be just a big PR effort, and then everybody gets up in arms and wants to beat up anybody who wants to read the bill, and actually make the bill stronger,” he told reporters.

In 2022, Paul co-sponsored an updated version of that bill with Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) that addressed his concerns.

“Strengthening the language of this bill has been my goal all along, and I’m pleased to have worked with Senators Cory Booker and Tim Scott to get this right and ensure the language of this bill defines lynching as the absolutely heinous crime that it is,” said Dr. Paul. “I’m glad to cosponsor this bipartisan effort and urge the Senate to quickly pass it.”

The ad by Booker, was called “powerful” by some media organizations.

On March 28, President Biden took questions from reporters at the White House. He managed to get through the session without making any of his trademark gaffes, but alert journalists noticed the aging president was holding cue cards that listed possible questions and the answers he was supposed to give.

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) says that’s not good enough. He commented on how we all feel a natural urge to complete sentences for people who’re suffering from cognitive decline, but warned “we shouldn’t have to do it for the commander in chief.”

On Saturday, Biden went off script and said Russian leader Vladimir Putin “cannot remain in power,” forcing the White House to “clarify” his statement wasn’t actually official US policy. However, Biden has refused to back down and repeated the same statement on Monday. Paul referenced the behavior, calling it a national security risk and accusing Biden of sending signals that “no one in their right mind would want to send to Russia at this point.”

Former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany has also highlighted Biden’s apparent inability to speak without a cheat sheet, saying the presidential press office must be “scared out of its mind.” If our president can’t be relied on to give a simple briefing without making wild statements about regime change in a hostile nuclear-armed state, maybe that’s cause for concern.
