Is America headed toward another civil war? Almost half of Americans voted for Donald Trump in the 2020 election. A new poll from the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia reveals that a majority of Trump voters want to secede from the United States — a very bad sign for Joe Biden, who promised to unify the country regardless of political leanings.

The report says that more than half of Trump voters voters want to secede from the United States. Interestingly, so do over 40 percent of Biden voters:

Significant numbers of both Trump and Biden voters show a willingness to consider violating democratic tendencies and norms if needed to serve their priorities. Roughly 2 in 10 Trump and Biden voters strongly agree it would be better if a “President could take needed actions without being constrained by Congress or courts,” and roughly 4 in 10 (41%) of Biden and half (52%) of Trump voters at least somewhat agree that it’s time to split the country, favoring blue/red states seceding from the union.

Which states would secede and which would stay are up in the air, but the fact is that many people want to leave the United States in favor of forming a new nation that would be run better. This is in line with a June YouGov poll that found that 66 percent of Republicans in the southern states want to secede from the United States.

Since so many Democrats want to leave, we should let them. Let them take California and a few other states and the rest of us can live in peace. It might be an easier solution than expecting Democrats to stop cheating and ruining the lives of every American.

If things keep getting worse, we may see another Civil War in our lifetimes. Which side will you be on?
