(RepulicanWire.org) – San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors voted unanimously on Tuesday to accept a draft plan from the city’s African American Reparations Advisory Committee that would pay out a one-time $5 million payment per qualifying person.

The reparations committee will submit its final proposal in June, after which the Board of Supervisors is set to meet on September 19th for its next reparations hearing.

Payments of $5 million to every eligible Black adult, the elimination of personal debt and tax burdens, guaranteed annual incomes of at least $97,000 for 250 years and homes in San Francisco for just $1 a family.

These were some of the more than 100 recommendations made by a city-appointed reparations committee tasked with the thorny question of how to atone for centuries of slavery and systemic racism. And the San Francisco Board of Supervisors hearing the report for the first time Tuesday voiced enthusiastic support for the ideas listed, with some saying money should not stop the city from doing the right thing.

In San Francisco, Black residents once made up more than 13% of the city’s population, but more than 50 years later, they account for less than 6% of the city’s residents — and 38% of its homeless population. The Fillmore District once thrived with Black-owned night clubs and shops until government redevelopment in the 1960s forced out residents.

Fewer than 50,000 Black people still live in the city, and it’s not clear how many would be eligible. Possible criteria include having lived in the city during certain time periods and descending from someone “incarcerated for the failed War on Drugs.”

Critics say the payouts make no sense in a state and city that never enslaved Black people. Opponents generally say taxpayers who were never slave owners should not have to pay money to people who were not enslaved.

Leo Terrell has had a lot to say on the matter.

(RepublicanWire.org) – No matter how ‘woke’ politicians try to appear, they often have to admit just how badly they failed. Historically this admission comes years and even decades after they made their mistakes, so there is little they can do to fix the situation. This unfortunate truth has reverberated across Democratic-led cities on and off over the last 30 years more than any other previous time.

Now San Francisco Mayor London Breed must admit this for herself. It’s a rather rough pill for her to swallow as she is now being forced to come to terms with her inept planning. While speaking with Chuck Todd as a part of “Meet The Press” on Sunday morning, Breed was asked very directly about the situation in SF for getting kids back into school. The response from Breed was legendary.

“Well, my take is, it was really about the frustration of the Board of Education doing their fundamental job, and that is to make sure that our children are getting educated, that they get back into the classroom, and that did not occur. They were focusing on other things that were clearly a distraction. Not to say that those other things around renaming schools and conversations around changes to our school district weren’t important, but what was most important was the fact that our kids were not in the classroom.”

Given the recent problems coming from the school board with these mandates, it’s refreshing to see the mayor speaking out about the problems their policies have been causing in school. As much as they loved to tout how their conservative policies were leading the way, parents simply did not agree as evidenced by their recent motions to oust three of their sitting school board members.

Getting these members off the board makes room for new leadership and better ideas to keep these kids in school and not interfere with their education. San Francisco Board of Education President Gabriela López, Vice President Faauuga Moliga, and Commissioner Alison Collins were recalled by at least 70% of voters, in what can only be described as a thorough commitment to change the future of education in SF.

Unfortunately, these school board members disagree, with one claiming that this was a charge being led by white supremacists and that it was racially motivated. This is despite whites making up 42.5% of the population in SF. A stance Mayor Breed vehemently disagreed with.

“It’s not the right kind of reaction, and the fact that we’re still even listening to any of the recalled school board members is definitely a problem. … This person is making it about [her] when it really should be about our kids, who have suffered, not just in San Francisco, but all over this country as a result of this pandemic. At the end of the day, our kids were not in school, and they should have been.”

Mayor Breed is right, the kids should have been in school. This horrific situation the school board members put kids in cost these young minds collectively thousands of hours of social interaction, important personal growth development, and their best chances at learning in the most effective ways. These steps are detrimental to their growth into reliable and educated adults.

This recall is something that happened too late for many. Numerous parents found themselves being forced to relocate so their children could remain in school, and many just lost their position outright. Some lost them from being outspoken about this horrific mandate, others for having to be away from work in a job that could not be done remotely. This idea of making things increasingly difficult for people all because you want to push progressive politics on people gets old real quick. It gets older even faster when you are changing the lives of innocent children.

An overwhelming number of San Francisco residents are fleeing their liberal paradise as they find it increasingly overwhelmed by criminal activities and homelessness. A new poll finds that nearly half of residents say they want to leave. While this is not immediately possible for everyone given individual circumstances, the fact that they want to pack their bags and runs says a lot about the Democrat-run city nestled in one of the most heavily Democrat-influenced states.

TheBlaze reports that a poll released by the city’s Chamber of Commerce reveals a whopping 40 percent of residents want to turn tail and run:

A new poll released by the city’s Chamber of Commerce found that a whopping 40% of residents are planning to leave the city over the next few years due to a rapidly deteriorating quality of life.

Among the greatest concerns for residents are rampant crime and homelessness, the poll found. Residents don’t feel safe in the city and don’t trust local officials to make any positive changes.

“For the second year in a row, 70% of residents feel that the quality of life in San Francisco has declined,” the chamber wrote in a news release about the survey. “Considered in light of the pandemic, these views are somewhat unsurprising. However, what stands out in the polling results is the strikingly high and consistent number of respondents who now view homeless and crime as the leading problems facing the City.

“Roughly 88% see homelessness as having worsened in recent years, and an overwhelming 80% see addressing this homelessness crisis as a high priority,” the chamber noted.

Though liberal politicians want to “defund the police,” 76 percent of residents in this leftist stronghold say they want to see an increase in police presence — particularly in high-crime neighborhoods.

“There’s nothing worse than seeing such a beautiful place in such disarray, and I really thought I was going to be sad when the movers loaded up the last container on Saturday, and I have never been more relieved,” a former resident who escaped told KPIX-TV.

“I honestly think in the last three years, we’ve seen a massive decline in the quality of life, and that was only enhanced over COVID,” she says. “The homelessness has been a severe problem, people are not feeling safe walking their dog … the number of break-ins seems to be constantly on the rise.”

“I think safety is a huge concern, even two years ago when I initially moved back to the city, I never viewed certain neighborhoods as necessarily unsafe,” a current resident of San Francisco says, recalling a time a homeless man attacked him and hurled slurs at him.

Liberal-run cities are the absolute worst — and even those who champion left-wing causes are beginning to see it.
