(RepublicanWire.org) – As election night 2022 gets closer, Democrats fear Americans are going to hold them responsible for soaring inflation, gas, and food prices.

And while most midterm elections favor the party not in the White House, Democrats have an especially difficult uphill battle to wage.

Democrat campaign ads have more than the usual “I’m independent” edge to them this year in an attempt to distance themselves from a very unpopular president and economic calamity.

A recent report from Fox News Digital found that the trend for Democrats across the country is to campaign on instances, real or perhaps perceived, where not only did they break with their own party and Joe Biden, but were able to work with Republicans.

Some are just adopting outright conservative positions.

Take Rep. Dan Kildee in Michigan, who touts that he “pushed to cut the gas tax and hire more police officers.” He continues in the ad saying, “And while none of this will make me popular in Washington, I’m focused on doing what’s right for Michigan.”

Inflation, military service, and law and order are also big themes for Maine Democrat Jared Golden.

Golden wants voters to think he’s very independent and stands up to his own party, which is false. He votes with Biden 86% of the time.

Far-left Pennsylvania Senate candidate and Bernie Sanders supporter John Fetterman wants you to know that Washington is the source of all your problems.

The Washington insiders, you see, broke the supply chain and “spiked inflation.” That’s why we need to cut taxes.

Of course, Washington is entirely run by the Democrats. And they just passed a massive tax hike bill.

While running from the Democrat Party and Joe Biden, Democrat candidates are touting crossing the aisle abilities to work with Republicans. Kansas Rep. Sharice Davids has done just that.

Richards notes that she “stood up to her own party” against congressional pay raises and insider trading among Members of Congress.

In essence, she’s unintentionally saying that the Democrats are the party of congressional pay raises and insider trading among Members of Congress. Seems like a strange thing to say, no?

Alas, Davids votes with Biden 100% of the time.

Some Democrat candidates may appear to be saying just enough to achieve that independent, not-afraid-to-against-the-party vibe, but Ohio Rep. Marcy Kaptur is one of the strongest to distance herself from the party.

The narrator is heard in her as saying, “Joe Biden is letting Ohio solar manufacturers be undercut by China, but Marcy Kaptur is fighting back.” Then there is the statement that Kaptur “is not working for Biden,” but is “working with Republican Rob Portman, protecting our jobs.”

As Democrats scurry to the center before the election, is it a strategy that will be successful when 70% of voters think the country is moving in the wrong direction? It may have some effect on Senate races.

The Cook Political Report has deemed several key Senate races “toss ups,” including Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Arizona. Democrat strategist Kevin Walling believes that “Democrats should absolutely campaign on the Inflation Reduction Act…”

However, Nathan Brand, spokesman for the Republican National Committee lays it out bluntly when he said, “Joe Biden is one of the least popular presidents in modern history. Democrats tout tax hikes as ‘wins,’ and Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. Democrats have enriched left-wing special interests and done nothing to alleviate the pain struggling Americans face every day because of Joe Biden. Biden remains a burden to every Democrat running in November.”

(RepublicanWire.org) – Vice President Kamala Harris cast a tie-breaking vote Saturday to advance President Joe Biden’s massive spending, tax and climate legislation in the Senate.

The 51-50 party line vote allowed senators to begin debate on the legislation, which includes $400 billion in spending and $700 billion in taxes and revenue increases.

Senator Bernie Sanders slammed the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) negotiated by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senator Joe Manchin, in part because of a recent nonpartisan report that revealed the bill would do very little to actually reduce inflation.

“I want to take a moment to say a few words about the so-called Inflation Reduction Act that we are debating this evening,” Sanders said on Saturday. “I say so-called because according to the [Congressional Budget Office] and other economic organizations that have studied this bill, it will in fact have a minimal impact on inflation.”

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer hailed the legislation as a “groundbreaking bill for the American people, for families struggling to pay the bills, for seniors struggling to pay for medication, for kids struggling with asthma.”

A letter sent to House and Senate leadership from 230 economists argues that the Inflation Reduction Act is expected to contribute to skyrocketing inflation and will burden the U.S. economy, contrary to President Biden and Democrats’ claims.

That in fact, passage of the bill will only add fuel to the fire making already 40-year high inflation even worse.

The 755-page bill is expected to win final approval Sunday evening.

(RepublicanWire.org) – California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom is begging the Hollywood film industry to bring back production moved to Oklahoma and Georgia amid pandemic lockdowns and rising crime, criticizing the Republican-controlled states over policies against abortion in a new ad published in Variety, according to Fox News.

It appears that Newsom is trying to guilt trip the Liberal Elites over at Tinsel Town with a new campaign ad titled: “Hollywood: Your Values, Your Choice,” suggesting that they are now supporting two states who have strict pro-life viewpoints.

“California is the best place in America to create. For 100 years, we’ve been the home for storytelling and storytellers. Together we built a creative community that includes unrivaled cast, crews, craftspeople, infrastructure, and technology. Robust tax credits and other incentives. The best culture,” the ad says. “Most importantly, we share your values. So now, it’s time to choose.”

“Over the past several years, the legislatures of states like Georgia and Oklahoma have waged a cruel assault on essential rights,” Newsom, who is reportedly quietly considering a 2024 presidential run, wrote. “Now, in the wake of the Supreme Court’s abhorrent decision overturning Roe v. Wade, those same states are quickly moving to strip reproductive freedoms.”

Newsom seems to be dangling a $1.65 billion carrot to entice the Hollywood elite to head back to the not so “Golden State”. This program, California’s Film & Television Tax Credit Program, set to expire, allocates $330 million per year in tax credits for the industry should Newsom extend it. You scratch my back, I scratch yours seems to be the 1920 mafia-style Hollywood mentality out West, so why not?

“As other states roll back people’s rights, California will continue to protect fundamental freedoms for all and welcome businesses that stand up for their employees,” Newsom said in a statement. “Extending this program will help ensure California’s world-renowned entertainment industry continues to drive economic growth with good jobs and a diverse, inclusive workforce.”

But it looks like Hollywood might already be off to a flying start in the Orange State as Republican Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp had already announced on Monday that film and television production generated $4.4 billion in the state this fiscal year.

Four of the top six spots for highest domestic-grossing movies were filmed in Georgia: “Avengers: Endgame,” “Spider-Man: No Way Home, “Black Panther” and “Avengers: Infinity War,” according to Fox News.

Just like Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis did, Kemp focused on the economy over politics. “When the pandemic struck, we worked hard in Georgia to communicate with our partners in the Georgia film, TV, and streaming industries,” Kemp said in a statement. “Together, we forged a safe and appropriate path to allow the film industry to return to operations and deliver Georgia Made productions to eager consumers all around the world – even when some states continued to stay shut down and stifle the industry’s return to normalcy.”

Republican Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt also reacted to Newsom’s ad in a tongue-in-cheek statement, saying he was “happy to name Gavin Newsom Oklahoma’s Economic Developer of the Year Award in 2021, and I’m glad to see he’s making a run for two years in a row,” according to a statement reported by the New York Times.

“Instead of attacking strong conservative leadership in red states like Oklahoma, perhaps Gavin Newsom should focus on addressing his state’s income tax, which is the highest in the nation, out-of-control energy costs, endless violent crime, people shooting up drugs in the streets, chronic homelessness, high cost of living, gridlock traffic, and rolling blackouts,” Stitt’s spokeswoman added in a statement to Fox News Digital. “If he needs pointers on how to actually run a state, he should give Governor Stitt a call.”

(RepublicanWire.org) – The House passed a bill on Friday that bans certain semi-automatic assault weapons.

The legislation in a move toward removing the rights of law-abiding citizens and an infringement on the Second Amendment.

The bill narrowly passed with a 217-213 vote, according to Fox News.

The following two Republicans voted in favor of the legislation:

Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Penn.

Rep. Chris Jacobs, R-N.Y.

The following five Democrats voted against the bill:

Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas

Rep. Jared Golden, D-Maine

Rep. Vicente Gonzalez, D-Texas

Rep. Kurt Schrader, D-Oreg.

Rep. Ron Kind, D-Wisc

All seven Representatives broke with typical party lines, the outlet reports.

“Today, our Democratic Majority will take up and pass the Assault Weapons Ban legislation: a crucial step in our ongoing fight against the deadly epidemic of gun violence in our nation,” Pelosi said, according to CNN.

“Today, House Democrats acted by unifying to pass an assault weapons ban to keep weapons of war off our streets, save lives in this country, and reduce crime in our communities,” Biden commented. “The Senate should move quickly to get this bill to my desk, and I will not stop fighting until it does.”

(RepublicanWire.org) – President Joe Biden published a tweet blaming Republicans for “obstructing” solutions to the country’s economic problems.

“Republicans are doing nothing but obstructing our efforts to crack down on gas-price gouging, lower food prices, lower healthcare costs, and hopefully, soon, lower your prescription drug costs. This is not right. And that’s why this election is going to be so darn important,” Biden tweeted.

Biden’s tweet quickly drew criticism, with Scott Jennings, a contributor for CNN and Bush White House alumnus tweeting in response to Biden’s statements: “88% wrong track + 38% job approval rating = good f’ing luck with this BS.”

Many critics also pointed out Biden’s inconsistencies with who is to blame, with DeSantis spokeswoman Christina Pushaw tweeting, “I thought it was the Putin Price Spike.”

Talk radio host Mark Zinno shared a similar retort, “Huh? I thought it was Russia’s fault,” he tweeted.

Biden’s policies also got serious flack, with conservative activist Scott Pressler tweeting: “@JoeBiden On day 1, you canceled our pipeline. You fired workers with your illegal, unconstitutional vaccine mandate. We have fewer healthcare workers because you forced them to choose between their jobs & a mandated medical procedure. You gave $54 billion to Ukraine, but forgot US.”

But it was Kimberly Morin’s, a conservative political writer, response that called out Biden’s hypocrisy most. Morin tweeted: “Americans know the TRUTH Big Guy. No one is buying your blame game. YOU and Democrats OWN INFLATION. Your policies are making it FAR Worse.”

In June 2020, Biden promised to take responsibility “unlike this president,” a jab he made toward then President Donald Trump.

Biden tweeted, “It’s hard to believe this has to be said, but unlike this president, I’ll do my job and take responsibility. I won’t blame others. And I’ll never forget that the job isn’t about me — it’s about you.”

But since being elected, Biden has searched for a scapegoat for his shortcomings, first pointing the finger at the previous administration, then Russia — in particular, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin — and now, Republicans.

(RepublicanWire.org) – At a rally on Saturday night in Anchorage, Alaska, former President Donald Trump didn’t spare Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), who is facing reelection in November, calling her “worse than a Democrat.”

Trump made his remarks while campaigning on behalf of Sarah Palin — who is seeking to take the state’s sole House seat — and Kelly Tshibaka — who plans to take the Senate from Murkowski.

Despite campaigning for America First candidates, Trump spent most of his speech focused on Murkowski’s shortcomings, calling her a “lousy Senator” in the opening remarks of his stump speech.

“She’s a total creature of the Washington swamp, but much worse than that, and a tool of a corrupt establishment, the likes of which we’ve never seen. The fake news media loves her,” Trump asserted.

The former President then called Murkowski out for opposing the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh but joining Democrats and two Republicans to confirm Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Supreme Court bid.

Trump also criticized Murkowski for voting to pass the bipartisan gun safety legislation in the wake of high-profile mass shootings in Buffalo, N.Y., and Uvalde, Texas.

But pointing to the November midterms, Trump told the crowd, “This is your precious chance to dump the horrific RINO Senator Lisa Murkowski, who’s worse than a Democrat.”

The term RINO, “Republicans in Name Only,” which Trump coined to refer to Republicans who go against his view of the GOP has become the former President’s greatest insult, but this time Trump went further, also referring to Murkowski as “Biden’s CEO,” a term her described as meaning she is Biden’s “chief enabling officer.”

(RepublicanWire.org) – House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) is blasting the House Committee investigating Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol as new doubts are being cast on explosive testimony from former White House aid Cassidy Hutchinson.

During an appearance on Fox News on Wednesday, Scalise addressed testimony from Hutchinson, who at one point interned for him, as he said, “I’ve seen some of the excerpts. And it looks like one more day of salacious headlines.”

“And already today we’re seeing Secret Service agents saying it didn’t happen, what was testified to in committee yesterday didn’t even happen,” he continued.

Finally, Scalise argued, “This is why Pelosi set this up from day one to be a partisan committee, a witch hunt just to keep going after Donald Trump — not to get facts. She kicked Republicans off the committee. She didn’t want the facts. They just want to keep going after Trump.”

Scalise’s later comments refer to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) decision to block Reps. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) and Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) from joining the committee.

On Tuesday, Hutchinson recounted a story she alleged was told to her by White House aide Tony Ornato.

“So once the president had gotten into the vehicle with Bobby, he thought that they were going up to the Capitol. And when Secret Service Special Agent Bobby Engel had relayed to him, we’re not. We don’t have the assets to do it. It’s not secure. We’re going back to the West Wing. The president had a very strong, very angry response to that,” Hutchinson testified.

She continued, “[Ornato] described him as being irate. The president said something to the effect of, ‘I’m the f*****g president! Take me up to the Capitol now.’ To which Bobby responded, ‘Sir, we have to go back to the West Wing.’”

She went on:

“The president reached up towards the front of the vehicle to grab at the steering wheel. Mr. Engel grabbed his arm, said, ‘Sir, you need to take your hand off the steering wheel. We’re going back to the West Wing. We’re not going to the Capitol.’ Mr. Trump then used his free hand to lunge towards Bobby Engel and when Mr. Ornato had recounted the story to me, he had motioned towards his clavicles.”

Trump fired back after her testimony, calling her a “total phony” and insisting the story was “fake news.”

Additionally, multiple reporters shared that the Secret Service agents are reportedly willing to testify that the incident did not occur.

For its part, the addressed doubts as a spokesperson for the panel told CNN, “The Committee trusts the credibility of a witness who was willing to testify under oath and in public.”

Mark Levin weighed in on the matter.

(RepublicanWire.org) – U.S. Rep. Jamaal Bowman, a New York Democrat who is a member of the notorious “Squad,” warns that a “civil war” will break out in America if Republicans win control of the United States Senate or the United States House of Representatives during the November elections.

Bowman warned, “of a stark outcome if Republicans take back power in the November midterm elections — one that would ‘embolden’ far-right extremists and white nationalists who he claims ‘have been pushing’ for ‘civil war.”

“Bowman went on to warn that Republicans gaining control of the House and/or Senate would ‘embolden’ dangerous and violent extremists to take further control.

“‘It would also embolden Republicans and the far right, and white nationalists across the country to begin to believe that it is their time to not just take power in the House, but the Senate, the White House and statehouses across the country,’ Bowman said.”

‘We’ve got to understand that this is a group that has been radicalized by the great replacement myth and many other things, and have been pushing for violence and pushing for even civil war, so that is what’s at stake right now in terms of this election,’ he warned.”

(RepublicanWire.org) – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and several other top Democrats in the U. S. House of Representatives will be served with subpoenas by House Republicans should the GOP prevail in retaking the House in the upcoming midterm elections.

According to some Congressional Republicans, the January 6 panel selectively subpoenaing House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy and other members of the Republican caucus has created a new standard that Republicans may choose to replicate upon retaking control of the House.

Republican Reps. Jim Jordan of Ohio, Mo Brooks of Alabama, Andy Biggs of Arizona, and Scott Perry of Pennsylvania have been subpoenaed along with McCarthy.

Reportedly, Republicans plan to target the House Speaker’s communications regarding security manners in the run-up to January 6, 2021, and the incidents occurring at the Capitol on that day.

Buddy Carter, a Republican representative from Georgia said, “I’m gonna tell you the truth: Yes, I do” when asked if he believes Republicans should issue a subpoena to Pelosi.

Rep. Carter continued, “This is setting the precedent, and we’re not gonna lie down and let this happen. There are serious questions about her role on January 6 and exactly what she did and what she didn’t do. And we need to get to the bottom of that.”

Brian Mast, a Republican representative from Florida, said, “I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a subpoena there.”

However, Pelosi said on Friday that she is “never afraid of precedent.”

“I’m never afraid of precedent,” the longtime Democratic congresswoman said. “We’re seeking the truth, and we’re not going to be cowards about it.”

Reportedly since January 6, the “disdain” between Pelosi and McCarthy has been palpable.

Jim Banks, a Republican representative from Indiana, said that the selected committee should subpoena the speaker for her testimony about security preparations leading up to and failures on January 6.

Banks said, “Speaker Nancy Pelosi is the only person in the United States who has covered anything up related to January 6. So that’s who they should subpoena. She should be at the top of the list.”

(RepublicanWire.org) – In a recent edition of “The View,” co-host Sunny Hostin accused Black and Latino Republicans of being traitors for their political beliefs, calling them “oxymorons.”

Co-host Lindsey Granger, a Black Republican defended her conservative values that Hostin really pounced. While Granger offered to talk about them, Hostin interjected to ask if she identifies as a Republican, which Granger affirmed that she did.

The scene got particularly heated after Hostin said, under her breath, it’s an oxymoron for her to be a Black Republican. She also accused Granger of being a Trump supporter.

Granger fired back by turning towards Hostin, saying she is an oxymoron, as a Catholic who disagrees with abortion on religious grounds, though she still wants abortions to be legal.

The heated exchange included accusations of how Hostin repeatedly claimed I don’t understand either of you,” as she specified “I don’t understand Black Republicans and I don’t understand Latino Republicans.”

Hostin also slammed Navarro and former White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham for supporting the Republican Party while being “complicit” in causing division.

Following the segment, Republican women chimed in to take issue with Hostin’s remarks.
