(RepublicanWire.org) – Reporters caught up with Republican Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri, at a rally for Eric Schmitt on Monday.

When asked, neither Republican said they would support Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., for another term as Senate majority leader if the Republicans take back the Senate in the midterm elections.

When speaking with reporters, Hawley, one of the most conservative lawmakers in Washington, said he would prefer new leadership.

Hawley’s disagreements with McConnell stem from issues like the funding of the Ukrainian people in their war with Russia and the outrageous spending legislation that passed.

His response to a direct question regarding whether he would support McConnell or not, Hawley replied, “I don’t imagine I will, no. I’m not sure if any other senator will run or not. Nobody’s indicated they would. But my view is that we need new leadership in that position.”

This week, Republican Senator Rick Scott of Florida surfaced as a possible replacement for McConnell.

Trump called him a “likely candidate” and a “very talented guy” who is “highly underrated.”

“I think Rick Scott is a likely candidate — he hates the guy,” Trump said, implying that Senator Scott is not a fan of Mitch McConnell, to put it mildly.

Scott is the chairman of the Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee. He and McConnell reportedly are at odds over policy decisions and have a frayed relationship.

Rick Scott was a guest on the Sunday edition of Meet the Press. Moderator Chuck Todd posed a question to Scott about challenging McConnell for the Senate Majority leader position.

Scott didn’t rule it out but responded diplomatically.

“I’m not focused on anything except getting a majority Tuesday night”…the first step in this hypothetical situation.

Todd chided him for giving a “non-answer” and his response was the same. He’s focused on the midterms.

In an interview, Arizona’s Trump-endorsed Senate hopeful Blake Masters indicated that he’s another ‘no vote’ against McConnell. He said, “I certainly think we need new leadership.”

Masters has been very vocal about the lack of support coming from McConnell in his bid for a senate seat. He stated, McConnell “will not own me, McConnell doesn’t love me. And clearly, he had a chance to help. He didn’t do it” and “he doesn’t want me in there, but he’s about to be stuck with me.”

Votes are still being counted in Arizona. We won’t know whether Blake Masters gets that U.S. Senate seat until the results are tabulated.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee released a 1,000-page report Friday of potential investigations into how the Biden administration has politicized the Justice Department and the FBI.

Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, the ranking member of the committee, has been gathering information from FBI and DOJ whistleblowers, detailing allegations of politicized justice under President Joe Biden.

“The Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the stewardship of Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland, is broken,” the GOP report states. “The problem lies not with the majority of front-line agents who serve our country, but with the FBI’s politicized bureaucracy.”

Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee say this report is “the first comprehensive accounting of the FBI’s problems to date, which undermine the FBI’s fundamental law-enforcement mission.”

The report features testimony from whistleblowers who describe FBI leadership in Washington, D.C., as “rotted at its core.” They allege a “systemic culture of unaccountability” and say the bureau is beset by “rampant corruption, manipulation, and abuse.”

Other allegations suggest that the FBI is actively seeking to “purge” employees with conservative views and those who dissent from “woke” diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

Democrats hold a slim majority in the House and most projections have the Republican Party taking the majority and the committee gavels in the next Congress come January. Jordan would be in position to chair the powerful House Judiciary Committee.

(RepublicanWire.org) – The Democrats know that their main vulnerabilities heading into Tuesday’s midterm elections are inflation, gas prices, crime and illegal immigration. The Dem strategy is now to gaslight by pretending those problems don’t really exist, and if they do in some places they’re just the fault of Republican exaggerations in their efforts to win back the House, Senate and state offices.

Hillary Clinton is trying to help out the Democrats by claiming that increased crime is actually a problem Republicans have caused.

“The states with the highest crime levels are states run by Republicans. That’s just a fact! We saw that very clearly in the recent debate in Oklahoma.” Clinton proclaimed.

Hillary is just trying to scare voters into not voting Republican by claiming Republicans are just scaring voters. It is both confusing and ridiculous.

(RepublicanWire.org) – On Friday, Bloomberg’s Jason Leopold reported that his five-year-old request for documents related to now-former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson had come back with the unexpected inclusion of an interview Obama did with members of the press on Jan. 17, 2017, three days before Trump’s inauguration.

During the conversation that covered a range of topics, the president cautioned the reporters on how best to go after Trump because his being reelected would hamper the “norms” of Washington, D.C.

“I think four years is OK. Take on some water, but we can kind of bail fast enough to be OK. Eight years would be a problem,” he asserted. “I would be concerned about a sustained period in which some of these norms have broken down and started to corrode.”

“I think if you’re jumping after every insult or terrible thing or a bit of rudeness that he’s doing and just chasing that,” Obama advised. “I think there’s a little bit of a three-card Monte there that you have to be careful about. I think you have to focus on a couple of things that are really important and just stay on them and drive them home.”

Lacking self-awareness as progressives often do, the president also offered some telling remarks that apple to President Joe Biden’s administration as corporate media has joyfully returned to covering for every misstep and apparent wrongdoing stemming from the White House now that it is occupied by a Democrat again.

After his administration had been accused of using the IRS to target conservative organizations, Obama was reportedly worried about the potential politicization of agencies like the FBI saying their real power is scary if “it wants your stuff, and the Justice Department starts investigating you for long periods of time, even if you have nothing to hide.”

“I would be like white on rice on the Justice Department. I’d be paying a lot of attention to that. And if there is even a hint of politically motivated investigations, prosecutions, et cetera, I think you reporters have to be really on top of that.”

As it happened, the Justice Department was the ones who authorized the release of these documents to Leopold at the same time the Republican members of Congress are cracking down on the FBI for violating whistleblower protections as agents have come forward to expose improprieties within the organization, including allegedly violating procedure to make “domestic violent extremism” appear to be a large, nationwide problem.

Meanwhile, Obama’s take on foreign policy was also a foreshadowed shot against Biden as, lacking Trump’s strong presence on the world stage, Biden’s feeble response to threats has allowed Russia and China to thrive.

“Russia and China sit back and wait to see what kind of consensus we’re building globally, they see if sometimes they can make sure their equities are protected, but they don’t initiate. If we’re not there initiating ourselves, then everybody goes into their own sort of nationalist, mercantilist corners, and it will be a meaner, tougher world,” Obama said, “and the prospects that arise will be greater.”

(RepublicanWire.org) – Republicans have had enough of President Biden and his administration’s inability to secure the border, and are effectively taking the matter into their own hands. That was exactly what the Lieutenant Governor of Texas, Dan Patrick said he was going to do during a Saturday taping of “Fox and Friends”.

Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick (R-TX) stated, that that state will “keep those buses coming” as long as the southern border remains unsecured.

“I’m serious about this. The legislators are serious about this. The people of Texas are serious about it,” Patrick began. “The other thing I’d want to do, we’re spending, by the way, to put this in perspective to all these whiny babies up in these blue states, ‘Oh, this is such a crisis.’ We normally spend $400 million a year on border security.”

“We’re spending over $4 billion of Texas taxpayer money, money we could spend on health care, on education, on more roads, whatever it might be, $4 billion a year.

We have our National Guard there on the border,” the Texan explained, adding, “This is a financial burden on us. But most importantly, it’s an invasion of our state.”

State and local officials across the Lone Star State have begun to use the language of invasion in an effort to not only call it what it is, but also set the legal foundations for additional action by law enforcement to secure the border, per the Texas Tribune.

Just this past week, two more Texas counties, Wharton and Burnet counties, called for “additional measures to secure the border, stop the invasion at the border, and protect our communities.” They join 27 other Texas counties that have released similar resolutions, according to The Center Square.

Texas itself has spent billions of dollars attempting to fill the void left by the Biden administration via Operation Lone Star which utilized state national guard troops to patrol the Rio Grande.

“I’ve said it for a long time, I’m not shy about the word. But we have to do this the right way.

But I will also propose that since we’re spending so much money, I’d like to hire every Border Patrol agent on the border,” adding, “Every one of them. There’s about 8,000.”

We can afford to do it, hire them and make a new state border guard so that Joe Biden doesn’t have one person left. And by the way, the Border Patrol agents are heroes in my book.

They hate working for this guy. I think they love working for Texas…”

(RepublicanWire.org) – Keith Olbermann is furious CNN demoted Don Lemon Thursday. He called CNN a sh*tshow and trashed new CNN boss Chris Licht.

Keith said, Chris Licht (who, when we worked together at MSNBC, I believed used to eat paste) has now surrounded Don Lemon with an ex-Daily Caller “journalist” and somebody who last month demanded an apology from Biden to Republicans.

“The @CNN Sh*tstorm is here.(And @brikeilarcnn’s cut-and-pasted complaint about Biden’s marines, and doubling and tripling down on this pathetic and hypocritical conservative talking point, did not save her. You can never be sufficiently doctrinaire for TV Fascists like Licht and John Malone)”

Lemon lost his primetime show at CNN amid a shakeup and will be moved to mornings at 6 a.m.

Joining Lemon will be anchor Poppy Harlow and White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins.

“This demonstrates our commitment to the morning and how important it is to me,” CNN’s new boss Chris Licht said. “The show will set the tone of the entire day, and it will set the tone for the news organization.”

Licht is still searching for a permanent host for the 9 p.m. role that Chris Cuomo had before he was fired and now will fill lemon’s spot as well.

Harlow said, “Don has been one of my closest friends for more than a decade — there for every milestone along the way.

“I’m consistently in awe of Kaitlan’s reporting and the remarkable woman she is. I can’t wait to laugh with them and learn from them each morning.”

Lemon said, “I was honestly floored when Chris Licht asked me to do this, and I’m honored by his belief in me.”

Collins said, “I can’t wait to wake with our viewers and do the news every day.

“So pour a cup of coffee and join us.”

(RepublicanWire.org) – Ted Cruz stepped in at the last minute and derailed a new Dem bill from moving forward. Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) was not happy saying:

“I think the agreement that we had has been blown up,” Klobuchar said. “This bill is about protecting local journalism by leveling the playing field and allowing local news outlets to band together to negotiate for fair compensation from tech platforms.

“I am committed to targeted, bipartisan legislation to achieve this goal. Since news outlets depend on the antitrust exemption while the covered platforms do not, the platforms could then raise content moderations at the first opportunity in an attempt to avoid the joint negotiations.”

Klobuchar admitted defeat telling a GOP Senator, “Sen. Kennedy, we worked on this for months and we won’t be able to support the Cruz amendment here, so I’m hoping we can talk about this in the future. But if this is in it we can’t support the bill.”

Ted Cruz fired back saying his amendment would stop any possible censorship between big tech and the media (as we saw with Hunter Biden), which should be the goal of Congress when they pass laws, not fostering an environment where censorship can happen.

“It simply says the topic of discussion when the two sides get together can’t be censorship. It should be ad revenue, which is what all of this discussion of this markup has focused on,” Cruz said.

“Democrats would rather pull their bill entirely than advance it with my proposed protections for Americans from unfair online censorship,” Cruz said.

Cruz added, “What is preeminent to me is whether this bill is going to increase or decrease censorship.

“If you’re negotiating, you ought to be negotiating on the ostensible harm this bill is directed at, which is the inability to get revenues from your content.

“You should not be negotiating on content moderation and how you are going to censor substantive content.”

Supporters of a bill meant to give news organizations greater leverage against the giant tech companies were forced to temporarily withdraw the measure Thursday, raising new doubts about one of Congress’ prime efforts to check Silicon Valley’s power.

Two hours into its Thursday markup, Republicans inserted provisions designed to limit the platforms’ abilities to moderate content, over the objections of lead sponsor Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), who then withdrew the bill. She said she fully plans to move the bill forward in a bipartisan way.

(RepublicanWire.org) – A federal judge, Terry Doughty, handed a pair of Republican AGs a big win over the Biden Administration. Doughty rejected Joe’s arguments and told the Biden administration it has 21 days to turn over emails sent by White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and Anthony Fauci to social media platforms regarding misinformation.

Missouri AG Eric Schmitt and Louisiana AG Jeff Landry brought the case. “This Court believes Plaintiffs are entitled to external communications by Jean-Pierre and Dr. Fauci in their capacities as White House Press Secretary and Chief Medical Advisor to the President to third-party social media platforms,” Doughty said in the ruling.

In their initial filing, the AGs argued that “having threatened and cajoled social-media platforms for years to censor viewpoints and speakers disfavored by the Left, senior government officials in the Executive Branch have moved into a phase of open collusion with social-media platforms under the Orwellian guise of halting so-called ‘disinformation,’ ‘misinformation,’ and ‘malinformation’.”

“As a result of these actions, there has been an unprecedented rise of censorship and suppression of free speech – including core political speech – on social media platforms,” the lawsuit said.

“Not just fringe views, but perfectly legitimate, responsible viewpoints and speakers have been unlawfully and unconstitutionally threatened in the modern public square.”

Schmitt said:

“In our lawsuit against the Biden Admin for colluding with social media companies to censor speech, the Court just ordered DOJ to produce records from key WH & HHS officials like Dr. Fauci, the WH Press Secretary, and others.”

A Biden admin official told Fox News:

“As we have said over and over again since the beginning of the administration in our battle against COVID-19, it has been critical for the American people to have access to factual, accurate, science-based information.

“For example, we worked hard to debunk inaccurate or misleading information about the COVID vaccines that have saved millions of lives and encourage Americans to get vaccinated and boosted to stay safe.

“Democrats and Republicans came together to urge the public to get vaccinated, stressing the safety and effectiveness of the vaccines.”

“We believe in and we support freedom of speech, and we also believe it is important for all media platforms, including social media, to represent factual scientific information and combat misinformation and disinformation that can cost lives,” the official said.

(RepublicanWire.org) – For years, American elites and bureaucrats have strategically skirted accountability and dodged tough questions, but not even a Democrat-controlled Congress has been able to stop Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., from exposing the corruption plaguing U.S. institutions.

Johnson first joined Congress in 2011, but it’s in recent years that he’s become one of the few Republicans willing to take on the tyrannical Covid regime, Big Tech censorship, lack of vetting for Afghanistan refugees, Spygate, and the FBI’s laundry list of malfeasance.

Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg admitted last week on an episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience” that his company was pressured in October of 2020 by the FBI to throttle so-called Russian disinformation.

In a letter written with Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, Johnson demanded that both Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray provide the documents and communications that corroborate Zuckerberg’s claims.

“The FBI’s consistent efforts to falsely paint information relating to Biden family misconduct as Russian disinformation continues to draw serious concerns, and those concerns are magnified by the FBI’s consistent failure to answer congressional inquiries,” the Republican duo noted.

“The American people deserve to know whether the FBI used Facebook as part of their alleged plan to discredit information about Hunter Biden,” the senators wrote. “If so, Congress and the American people require clarity with respect to the extent the FBI communicated with Facebook during the 2020 election about Hunter Biden-related information.”

Since Johnson knows the FBI and DOJ are intentionally difficult when it comes to answering requests for more information, he opened the door for whistleblowers within those agencies to come to him with their worries about corruption.

As a result, multiple government employees with concerns about the DOJ and FBI’s conduct shared that their agencies were being unfairly weaponized for partisan reasons. Several whistleblowers also shared their strongly evidenced allegations that the FBI “intentionally undermined efforts to investigate Hunter Biden.”

That news, Johnson pointed out — compounded with Garland, Wray, Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines, and DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s attempts to “intentionally discredit” Johnson and Grassley’s investigations into Hunter Biden’s shady foreign business dealings — does not bode well for either agency’s credibility.

Speaking of Hunter, it was Johnson and Grassley who, despite smears from the corrupt corporate media and a lack of transparency from the DOJ, led the investigation into the president’s son’s financial entanglements with foreign enemies.

Even after an “unnecessary briefing” from the FBI and a subsequent partisan leak that framed Johnson and Grassley as pursuing “Russian disinformation,” the pair continued releasing key receipts and reports showing just how deep the Biden family’s profiteering with overseas oligarchs.

When violent abortion activists took responsibility for the firebombing and vandalism of several pro-life organizations shortly after the Dobbs v. Jackson leak in May, Johnson demanded to know why federal law enforcement and the DOJ hadn’t stepped in.

“There are currently mobs outside of the residences of the Supreme Court Justices appointed by Presidents George W. Bush and Donald Trump … and, once again, DOJ, FBI, and DHS have yet to condemn these activities,” Johnson wrote in a scathing letter. “I want to reemphasize that your silence on this abhorrent attack against a pro-life organization is deafening and your continued silence could be construed as a tacit endorsement.”

Johnson was one of the only congressional Republicans who rejected claims that Trump was colluding with Russians to steal the 2016 election. He spent years investigating and documenting the deliberate failures by the FBI and political motivations that fueled Democrats’ two impeachment attempts. He also spent years blasting deceitful intelligence officials for stonewalling Congress on Spygate oversight.

“Had the public known what the FBI knew at that time, it’s hard to imagine public support for continuing the investigation, much less the appointment of a special counsel four months later,” Johnson said.

He was right, which is why the FBI and DOJ allies in the Democrat Party and the corporate media are gunning for Johnson’s Senate seat.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W. Va.) is warning other members of his party not to back out of a compromise climate deal that helped Democrats pass the $700 billion Inflation Reduction Act.Specifically, Manchin agreed to lend his support to the bill—crucial for the bill’s eventual passage through the evenly divided Senate—in exchange for consideration at a later date of separate legislation that would grant some concessions to fossil fuels and would cut down on regulations of the industry.

Now, with the Inflation Reduction Act passed, some Democrats are getting cold feet about honoring that deal, which they say would undercut the effects of the approximately $400 billion in climate spending contained in the larger reconciliation bill.

“We sure as hell don’t owe Joe Manchin anything now,” Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan said recently.

At a recent event in his home state of West Virginia, Manchin blasted far-left members of his party for musing on undoing the bill.

“I’ve got the hard left right now saying, ‘Hell no, we’re not going to do anything now that makes it look like we’re helping Manchin,’” Manchin said. “I said, ‘You’re not helping me, you’re helping yourself if you want to get anything built in America.’”

The regulations that Manchin wants cut often can delay the construction of energy infrastructure projects for years, and he has argued that loosening these regulations would help to increase U. S. energy output and reduce skyrocketing energy prices for American consumers.

In addition, Manchin has asked for $6.6 billion to help restart the stalled West Virginia Mountain Valley pipeline.

Though some Democrats seem to be looking at the prospect of betraying Manchin, the West Virginia Democrat has turned his gaze across the aisle to force his party to uphold their side of the bargain.

Specifically, Manchin has demanded that the regulation cuts be included as part of a stopgap spending measure, which must pass by Sept. 30 to stave off a government shutdown. If he doesn’t get his way on this, Manchin suggested, he is quite happy to team up with Republicans and force a government shutdown until Democrats yield.

If Manchin refuses to go along, Schumer needs support from at least 11 Senate Republicans to prevent the shutdown.

“This loosened fossil fuel regulations is something the Republican Party has wanted for the last five to seven years I’ve been with them,” Manchin said, according to the Times.

“It either keeps the country open, or we shut down the government. That’ll happen September 30, so let’s see how that politics plays out.”
