(RepublicanWire.org) – Fox News contributor Geraldo Rivera is in hot water again with critics, this time over a hot take he posted to Twitter about the riots at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

“Regarding January 6th, remove all filters, legal, political, ideological, or philosophical. Just you-personally-remember how you reacted when with your own eyes-you watched on Live Television the violent breach of our nation’s Capitol. That day-did you say ‘oh that wasn’t so bad?’” Rivera tweeted.

Many on social media slammed Rivera for his comments, with some even calling for him to be fired.

The chief of the U.S. Capitol Police issued a memo to his staff on Tuesday following the airing of previously unseen security footage by Fox News host Tucker Carlson which showed many police officers appearing to stand passively as a large crowd entered the Capitol on January 6.

Police Chief Tom Manger condemned the comments made during the airing of the footage on Carlson’s Monday night program, stating that it was “filled with offensive and misleading conclusions” about the riot of January 6, 2021, when a group of people breached the U.S. Capitol building, causing disruptions to lawmakers who were in the process of certifying President Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory.

“The program conveniently cherry-picked from the calmer moments of our 41,000 hours of video,” Manger claimed. “The commentary fails to provide context about the chaos and violence that happened before or during these less tense moments.”

Manger specifically objected to a segment that featured Capitol Police officers guiding Jacob Chansley, also known as the “QAnon Shaman,” through the Capitol building and Carlson’s portrayal of them as “tour guides.”

He also expressed concern about Carlson’s emphasis on Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick, who a medical examiner found had died of natural causes after suffering a stroke a day after the January 6 incident while protecting the Capitol, the Daily Wire reported.

The New York Times initially reported on January 8 that Sicknick was killed by a rioter wielding a fire extinguisher during the riot. However, the paper retracted the story five weeks later after the D.C. medical examiner stated that Sicknick had died of natural causes a day after the event. Other outlets also erroneously reported that Sicknick was beaten to death.

Nonetheless, both Sicknick’s family and the police believe that his death was related to the riot.

(RepublicanWire.org) – In February, Fox News host Tucker Carlson had confirmed that he and his team of producers had been granted access to over 44,000 hours of footage from January 6th by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

Carlson claimed that the footage they’ve seen already contradicts the story that has been told for the past two years about the events that occurred on that day in Washington D.C. and that excerpts from the footage would begin airing in the coming weeks.

Now, Carlson said that the footage will be released next week. Carlson stated that there was never any legitimate reason for this footage to remain secret, saying, “We think people, in a democracy, should be allowed to see what their government is doing, and get as much evidence as they can.”

“They are lying, and we know that because we’ve been looking at the tape.” Carlson continued, “We’re going to bring you information on the tape and some of it next week, and we think it’s going to be really really interesting.”

(RepublicanWire.org) – The mother of Ashli Babbitt, the Trump supporting woman who was murdered on January 6th, 2021, was arrested on Friday at the U.S. Capitol for jaywalking.

Two years ago today, Babbitt was shot and killed by Capitol police after she walked into the Capitol building. Babbitt was attempting to get through a door when a Capitol Police officer shot her in the neck. She later died at the hospital.

On Friday, Babbitt’s mother Micki went to D.C. to protest her daughters death as she continues to look for answers.

Micki was seen being handcuffed and taken into custody by multiple police officers while onlookers protested.

“You murdered [Ashli] inside the Capitol, now you’re going to arrest her?” one onlooker said.

“I did not murder her daughter,” one officer replied in front of the crowd of people.

On Jan. 6, 2021, Babbitt, an unarmed Air Force veteran, was fatally shot by Lt. Michael Byrd. while attempting to make entry into the interior of the Capitol Building.

As reported by Kyle Mazza of UNF News, the grieving mother was protesting with a group outside of the Capitol, holding signs with messages reading “JESUS IS LORD,” as well as ones displaying the faces of Babbitt and Kevin Greeson, who also died during the Jan. 6 protests.

Though Greeson’s wife said that he had high blood pressure and suffered a heart attack, the group of protestors maintain that he was a murder victim.

“MURDERED BY CAPITOL POLICE” could be read on the signs, below the faces of Babbitt and Greeson.

Micki, was later released, and is due back in court on January 26th.

(RepublicanWire.org) – A Republican senator has slammed the House’s January 6 committee for political bias, arguing while justice needs to be done, the right place for it isn’t a politicized committee out to smear as many Republicans as possible.

On February 6, Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) told CBS’s “Face the Nation” that anyone who broke the law during last January’s Capitol riots should be prosecuted, and pointed out that’s what’s happening. However, he said, “the January 6th commission is not the place to do this. That’s what prosecutors are supposed to do.”

Rubio said the commission is being used as a partisan tool focused on causing as much damage to Republicans as possible, including harassing people who weren’t even in Washington, DC that day. When host Margaret Brennan tried to divert him by asking about the two Republican members of the Commission – Representatives Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) – Rubio stressed it’s the commission as a whole that’s doing this.

The main charge Rubio laid against the commission is it’s expanding its purview to look beyond the actual riot, and persecuting Americans who were involved in legitimate political discourse. He finished by dismissing the heavily-biased committee, which is made up of seven Democrats and two anti-Trump Republicans, as “a complete partisan scam.”
