(RepublicanWire.org) – The Biden Treasury Department has launched an investigation into DeSantis’s sending a planeload of illegal aliens to Martha’s Vineyard, claiming that he may have used COVID relief funds to do so. Congressional Democrats precipitated the action.

“The agency’s inspector general’s office confirmed to several members of Massachusetts’s Democratic congressional delegation that it planned “to get this work underway as soon as possible” to probe Florida’s spending as part of ongoing audits into how states have used the billions in sent to them as part of the American Rescue Plan, according to a letter provided by Democratic Massachusetts Sen. Ed Markey’s office,” POLITICO reported Wednesday. “In an Oct. 7 letter to Markey and five House members, Richard K. Delmar, deputy inspector general for the Treasury Department told the lawmakers that the agency would “review the allowability” of Covid-19 aid to states “related to immigration generally, and will specifically confirm whether interest earned on (the) funds was utilized by Florida related to immigration activities, and if so, what conditions and limitations apply to such use.”

Can we say just how much this is an improper political witch hunt? The people that need to be investigated here are the Biden team, for once again abusing their offices to go after a political foe.

First of all, plenty of Democrats used COVID funds for non-COVID projects. While the Democrats’ request to investigate DeSantis dated October 7th got immediate action from the Biden Administration, Rep. James Comer’s (R-KY) and Rep. Virginia Foxx’s (R-NC) request to Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona to get action as to COVID relief funds being used for radical initiatives has gotten no action since September.

“As the Republican leaders on the Committees on Oversight and Reform and Education and Labor, we are continuing Republicans’ investigation into the misuse of COVID-19 relief dollars intended for virus mitigation, the safe reopening of schools, and addressing catastrophic learning loss. On September 14, 2022, Committee Republicans requested documents and communications from your office to understand better how the Department of Education has allowed states to spend COVID-relief funds, specifically the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funds. You failed to respond by the September 28, 2022, deadline. Despite your failure to respond, the American people are providing numerous examples of wasteful spending of ESSER funds,” wrote the Republican lawmakers.

Joe Biden has sent illegal aliens all over the country including Westchester, New York, under cover of night on our taxpayer funds, and without notifying the cities that he’s dropping the people in. Even some Democrats blasted him over it.

Rep. Tom Suozzi (D-NY) complained that the Biden administration was withholding information about the flights, which reportedly occurred largely at night and in secret.

“We need information from the administration. Where are they sending these kids? So that the school districts can be prepared for the influx of kids, and then we need to get them money,” Suozzi said in October. “I am just angry and frustrated.”

Yet where’s the effort to stop Biden’s actions by the Democrats or the investigation into his misuse of tax dollars? Where’s the investigation of the Democrats who truly misused the funds?

COVID funds have been used for law enforcement in multiple places, such as Mesa, Arizona, so it’s completely in line with that. Plus, the money DeSantis used came from a fund approved by the state legislature to relocate those who have entered the country illegally. The funds came from $12 million in interest from COVID funds, not the COVID funds themselves.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Vice President Kamala Harris is facing a storm of backlash after telling an audience that Florida will receive Hurricane Ian aid based on “equity.”

During the Democratic National Committee’s Women’s Leadership Forum, Harris claimed that the communities hit hardest by so-called “climate change,” are low-income communities and people of color, adding that they will be first in line for help.

“We have to address this in a way that is about giving resources based on equity, understanding that we fight for equality, but we also need to fight for equity,” Harris said, adding “If we want people to be in an equal place sometimes we need to take into account those disparities and do that work.”

Harris’ comments caused a wave of criticism from Florida residents and Gov. Ron DeSantis’ (R-Fla) team.

“This is false. @VP’s rhetoric is causing undue panic and must be clarified. FEMA Individual Assistance is already available to all Floridians impacted by Hurricane Ian, regardless of race or background,” DeSantis’ press secretary Christina Pushaw said.

Students for Trump founder Ryan Fournier tweeted, “You can’t make this up. Kamala Harris said the administration will be giving hurricane resources ‘based on equity’ by directing funds to ‘communities of color.’ I guess everyone else is just screwed.”

Even Tesla CEO and billionaire Elon Musk argued against Harris saying the funds “should be according to greatest need, not race or anything else.”

(RepublicanWire.org) – Democratic Connecticut Rep. Jahana Hayes, who was caught paying her family tens of thousands of dollars since entering Congress has continued to pay her children with campaign funds.

During the second quarter of 2022, Hayes paid her son David Crenshaw $1,245.65 from her campaign fund. Since entering Congress, she has paid her son $18,283.08.

During the fourth quarter of 2021 Hayes used her campaign fund, called “Friends of Jahana Hayes,” to pay her son $15,118.54 since entering Congress.

FEC records show that Hayes paid over $15,000 in increments of $282.47 each to a person with the name “David Crenshaw” under the category of “Payroll.” In 2018, the Hartford Courant reported Hayes’ son, David Crenshaw, age 24, joined Hayes to celebrate her congressional victory.

During the forth quarter of 2021, “Friends of Jahana Hayes” paid Hayes’ daughter, Asia Clermont, $2,551.41 from her campaign fund in increments of $359.25 each, and since entering Congress, she has paid her daughter $21,299.03.

Despite scrutiny for paying her adult children tens of thousands of dollars to store passwords on her campaign,  FEC records show Hayes is still paying her daughter Asia upwards of $700 per month.

The records became available July 15.

The latest FEC records show Hayes is still paying her son David around $300 per month.

Hayes also reimbursed herself $250 dollars for “petty cash.” The FEC has strict rules about petty cash reimbursements.

Republican Connecticut candidate George Logan has called on the House Committee on Ethics to investigate the legitimacy of her children’s employment. Barbara Ellis, the manager of Hayes’ reelection campaign, said Hayes’ daughter handles campaign scheduling for her mother and Hayes’ son does digital and tech support.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Crime is up, and President Joe Biden’s administration would like you to believe they’re supporting local law enforcement in dealing with the surge.

In one brutal six-minute clip from Attorney General Merrick Garland’s testimony before the Senate Appropriations Committee on Tuesday, however, GOP Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana dismantled the administration’s top law enforcement official over how serious it was about supporting cops in cities which have borne the brunt of the recent crime wave.

According to the Daily Caller, the Department of Justice is asking for $37.65 billion in funding for Fiscal Year 2023. That’s a $2.63 billion increase.

However, Kennedy didn’t think that money was going to the right places, particularly given the circumstances.

“I think the Justice Department is losing. I think you’re losing on crime,” Kennedy began.

“I think you’re losing on drugs. I think you’re losing on immigration. I think you’re losing on Chinese espionage.”

On crime, Kennedy began by asking Garland what percentage of law enforcement officers he thought were “bad cops” or “racist.” He also asked what percentage of cops didn’t follow the Constitution. In all cases, Garland said the number was very small.

All right, then: “Why doesn’t the Justice Department support stop, question and frisk?” Kennedy asked. Garland said he wasn’t aware of a Justice Department position, so Kennedy restated: “Why doesn’t the Justice Department aggressively encourage law enforcement officials to use that technique?”

“Let’s take Chicago, where we haven’t made any inroads in stopping the killing,” Kennedy said. The city has already seen 169 murders in 2022 and almost 800 in 2021, which was the highest number since 1996.

“Chicago is now the world’s largest outdoor shooting range. We know that a lot of the shootings come from gangs,” Kennedy said.

“Why wouldn’t you want to call the police chief and the mayor in Chicago and say, ‘Look, you know who these gang members are. When you have reasonable suspicion under Terry v. Ohio, an objective standard, more than just a hunch, why don’t you aggressively stop, question and frisk these gang members?”

Garland deflected: “The best way for the federal government to stop violent crime is to work at each local level and determine, and let the state and locals determine, what the best use of their own resources is.”

“I’m sorry to interrupt, but I’m trying to get some answers,” Kennedy said. “Why won’t you do that? Just tell me why you won’t do that. Your opinion matters.”

“Because there is no one-solution-fits-all that the federal government can suggest to state and local law enforcement,” Garland responded. “We believe state and local law enforcement knows best as to what to do there. We provide our technical expertise. We put lots of resources into joint task forces.”

And that’s where Kennedy pounced, as they like to say.

“You are asking in the middle of raging inflation for 7 percent more money, $2.63 billion, to provide technical increase, technical advice?” Kennedy said

“I mean, we’re going backwards here on crime, General. You are the country’s chief law enforcement officer, and you won’t even answer my question about how you feel about stop, question and frisk?”

The answer is obvious: Stop, question and frisk is highly effective. It’s also highly radioactive in leftist circles since it’s assumed the practice will be applied in a racist manner. The issue practically destroyed Michael Bloomberg’s 2020 Democratic presidential campaign before it began because of his endorsement of stop-and-frisk during his time as New York City mayor. Coming out and endorsing it would be suicide for anyone in the Biden administration, much less Attorney General Garland.

And yet, Kennedy prefaced this by making sure everyone knew Garland didn’t think cops were “bad” or “racist” and that they followed the Constitution. Thus, if they weren’t targeting people by race and respecting their constitutional rights, stop-and-frisk should be something the Department of Justice is encouraging in cities like Chicago, right?

This administration can “fund the police” all it wants — but we’ll still have the same lawlessness and a bigger pile of debt to go with it.
