(RepublicanWire.org) – House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is once again warning FBI Director Christopher Wray he will be hit with a charge of contempt of Congress for failing to turn over a subpoenaed document regarding a probe into President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden.

During his appearance on “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday, McCarthy was engaged in a conversation about the ongoing debt ceiling negotiations when the discussion then shifted to an upcoming meeting between Wray and House Oversight Chairman James Comer.

Their meeting follows Comer’s allegations that the FBI has been uncooperative in complying with a subpoena requesting internal documents pertaining to the Biden family’s business interactions with foreign entities.

Comer has said he’ll hold Wray in contempt if his agency fails to turn over the requested document, and McCarthy reiterated that threat during the interview, saying he had spoken to Wray and instructed him to turn over the document by day’s end.

“Today is the deadline. So let me not just tell you, let me tell Director Christopher Wray right here, right now. If he misses the deadline today, I’m prepared to move contempt charges in Congress against him. We have jurisdiction over this. He can send us that document,” McCarthy said.

“We have the right to look at that, Republicans and Democrats alike in that committee, and if he does not follow through with the law, we will move contempt charges against Christopher Wray and the FBI. They are not above the law,” he added.

The FBI has claimed that releasing the document could expose a confidential source and endanger other investigations.

According to remarks from other Republicans, there are allegations that the internal unclassified FD-1023 form at the center of the controversy contains information outlining an alleged “arrangement” involving the exchange of money in return for policy decisions.

In a letter addressed to Wray last week, Comer stated that he is taking steps to narrow the scope of the subpoena for the document. As part of this effort, he has included two additional terms, namely “June 30, 2020” and “five million,” which may be referenced in the record.

“The FBI’s refusal to produce this single document is obstructionist,” Comer’s letter noted.

In a statement to the Daily Mail, the FBI relied on a claim of national security that critics find dubious.

The FBI’s mission is to protect the American people. Releasing confidential source information could potentially jeopardize investigations and put lives at risk,” the bureau’s statement said. “The FBI remains committed to cooperating with Congress’s oversight requests on this matter and others as we always have.”

Staffers for the Oversight Committee who are working on the “influence-peddling” investigation met with FBI officials on Monday, but they refused to provide the subpoenaed document.

(RepublicanWire.org) – An attorney who is claiming that the FBI “utterly failed” to properly investigate the late billionaire financier and convicted underage sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein has asked the Justice Department to find out why.

A letter from the attorney, who is representing several women, was sent last week to FBI Director Christopher Wray, Attorney General Merrick Garland, and DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz, stating that the FBI was aware of allegations against Epstein back in the 1990s but failed to take any significant action, the Daily Wire reported.

“As counsel to many survivors of the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking conspiracy, we write regarding the failure of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to properly, adequately, or timely investigate the sex trafficking of hundreds of girls and young women,” says the letter from lawyer Jennifer Freeman.

“The FBI utterly failed to investigate serious allegations involving Epstein’s, and perhaps others’, child sex abuse materials (CSAM), significant additional criminality which, until recently, has been disregarded, disrespected, and essentially denied,” it added.

“In August of 1996 one of our clients, Maria Farmer, reported to the FBI that Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell had sexually abused her and that the two of them, together with others, were committing multiple, serious, sexual abuse crimes, including hands-on sexual abuse, against minors and vulnerable young women,” the letter continues. “In addition, she reported to the FBI that Epstein, and perhaps others, appeared to be engaged in the production, possession, and distribution of sexually suggestive or exploitative images of children that could constitute CSAM.”

“In 2005, child erotica was found in Epstein’s Palm Beach home. In approximately 2008, law enforcement “prematurely” truncated their investigation of Epstein’s computer hard drives, which had been suspiciously removed from his Palm Beach estate immediately before a police raid,” the letter continued, adding: “In 2019, more child erotica was found displayed in Epstein’s properties, with additional images located in his home safe.”

The women are seeking an explanation as to why it took so long for legal action to be taken against Epstein and have requested that the DOJ investigate the FBI’s handling of the case.

Meanwhile, a December 2021 report in the National Review noted that “Epstein visited the White House 17 times during former President Clinton’s first few years in office,” according to then-nearly discovered visitor logs.

The logs, obtained by the UK’s Daily Mail under a Freedom of Information Act request, also reveal that Epstein visited the White House 14 times over a two-year period between 1993 and 1995. On three occasions, he made two visits in a single day. The majority of these visits were to the West Wing, leading to speculation that he may have met with the President during these visits.

Epstein died in jail in 2019, believed to have committed suicide.

A month earlier, in November, CNN reported that “Epstein’s former pilot testified in Ghislaine Maxwell’s sex trafficking trial…that a who’s who of powerful men, including former Presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, flew aboard Epstein’s private plane.”

Visoski said that he was usually given advance notice when high-profile passengers, like former President Clinton, would be flying with Epstein. He also recounted that Epstein flew with renowned violinist Itzhak Perlman to the Interlochen Center for the Arts summer camp and that he remembered other notable passengers on flights, such as Prince Andrew, Maine Sen. George Mitchell, Ohio Sen. John Glenn, and actor Kevin Spacey, CNN reported.

Newsweek noted in January that a documentary aired on the BBC that month claimed that Clinton and Epstein were “like brothers.”

(RepublicanWire.org) – A confidential police station operating under the Chinese government in New York City got shut down by the FBI after several raids conducted during the last couple of months, as per a report released on Friday.

The U.S. State Department official affirmed the closure:

“The FBI has confirmed that the ‘overseas police station’ in New York linked to Fuzhou has closed. We continue to be concerned about PRC [People’s Republic of China] transnational repression efforts around the world and are also coordinating with allies and partners on this issue.”

The closure of the facility in New York’s Chinatown comes just weeks after The New York Times reported that FBI agents raided and searched the building at an undisclosed time last fall. The facility and more than 100 others like it form a network of covert facilities from which experts believe that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is conducting a campaign of transnational repression.

According to two reports published in October 2022 and December 2022 by Safeguard Defenders, a nonprofit organization, overseas police outposts are used to collect intelligence and even forcibly repatriate Chinese dissidents to the mainland to be imprisoned.

The State Department spokesperson said:

“We are aware of reports regarding alleged PRC’s overseas police stations. We take this issue very seriously. Establishing so-called overseas police stations without the invitation or approval of the country in which they are operating raises serious issues of respect for the sovereignty of that country.”

Chinese authorities maintain that the facilities, which operate in 53 nations, assist Chinese immigrants in foreign nations with tasks that would normally be handled by a consulate, such as renewing driver’s licenses and visas. However, the stations have been linked to the CCP’s United Front Work Department, an agency that works to advance the regime’s interests abroad by spreading propaganda, conducting foreign influence operations, suppressing dissident movements, gathering intelligence, and facilitating the transfer of technology to communist China.

(RepublicanWire.org) – The former senior FBI counterintelligence official who played a lead role in the Trump-Russia investigation has been arrested and charged over his own alleged ties to a sanctioned Russian oligarch.

“Charles McGonigal, the former Special Agent in Charge of FBI’s Counter intelligence Division in New York, who retired in 2018, is accused of violating U.S. sanctions by agreeing to provide services to Oleg Deripaska, a sanctioned Russian oligarch. He is charged alongside Sergey Shestakov, a former Soviet and Russian diplomat who later became a U.S. citizen and a Russian interpreter for courts and government offices, through a five-count indictment unsealed in Manhattan federal court Monday,” Fox News reported.

“McGonigal and Shestakov both were arrested Saturday. The indictment is a rare move by federal prosecutors to bring charges against a senior former FBI official before a federal grand jury. Though not referenced in or related to the indictment, McGonigal, while serving as chief of the cybercrimes section at FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C., was one of the first bureau officials to learn of allegations George Papadopoulos, a campaign adviser for Donald Trump, boasted that he knew Russians had dirt on Hillary Clinton, launching the investigation into alleged Russian election interference known as Operation Crossfire Hurricane,” the outlet added.

McGonigal and Shestakov “both previously worked with Deripaska to attempt to have his sanctions removed, and, as public servants, they should have known better,” U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Damian Williams said in a statement. “This Office will continue to prosecute those who violate U.S. sanctions enacted in response to Russian belligerence in Ukraine in order to line their own pockets.”

Fox News reported: “Both men are charged with one count of conspiring to violate and evade U.S. sanctions, in violation of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (“IEEPA”), one count of violating the IEEPA, one count of conspiring to commit money laundering, and one count of money laundering, each of which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. Shestakov is also charged with one count of making false statements, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison, prosecutors said.”

It was then-President Barack Obama who in 2014 issued Executive Order 13660, which declared a national emergency with respect to the situation in Ukraine following the annexation of Crimea.

On April 6, 2018, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (“OFAC”) designated Deripaska as a Specially Designated National (“SDN”), sanctioning him for acting on behalf of a senior official of the Russian Federation’s government and for operating in the Russian energy sector.

In 2021, the two defendants agreed to and did investigate a rival Russian oligarch of Deripaska in return for concealed payments from Derispaska, in violation of sanctions the United States imposed in 2018, the indictment says. McGonigal and Shestakov allegedly knew their actions violated U.S. sanctions because, among other reasons, while serving as special agent in charge, McGonigal received then-classified information that Deripaska would be added to a list of oligarchs considered for sanctions.

“The FBI is committed to the enforcement of economic sanctions designed to protect the United States and our allies, especially against hostile activities of a foreign government and its actors,” FBI Assistant Director in Charge Michael J. Driscoll said. “Russian oligarchs like Oleg Deripaska perform global malign influence on behalf of the Kremlin and are associated with acts of bribery, extortion, and violence.”

“After sanctions are imposed, they must be enforced equally against all U.S. citizens in order to be successful,” Driscoll added. “There are no exceptions for anyone, including a former FBI official like Mr. McGonigal. Supporting a designated threat to the United States and our allies is a crime the FBI will continue to pursue aggressively.”

(RepublicanWire.org) – Just The News founder John Solomon believes that Special Counsel John Durham is preparing to go after the FBI. Solomon spoke about the special counsel’s investigation into the Trump-Russia witch hunt and what Durham’s next move might be.

Russian-born analyst Igor Danchenko — key source for the unverified Steele dossier that alleged ties between Donald Trump’s campaign and Russia — was arrested by federal agents last year as part of the Durham investigation. Solomon explained that he believes Durham is dealing with “two buckets.”

In one “bucket,” there are the last two indictments against officials who were connected to Hillary Clinton and their plan to feed the FBI false information about Trump-Russia conspiracies. He said the other “bucket” focuses on the FBI and whether agents knowingly mislead the FISA court to obtain warrants to spy on members of Trump’s 2016 campaign.

“But Durham developed really significant evidence that red flags, the stop-now warning signs go all the way back to August when Bruce Orr, in 2016 came to the FBI and said Christopher Steele is dumping a dossier. He hates Trump. He’s hired by Hillary Clinton and most of his information is raw and uncorroborated,” he said.

“A month after the CIA sends a warning to the FBI, this is something John Ratcliffe declassified, saying Hillary Clinton is trying to play a dirty trick on Donald Trump to tie him to Russia to get out of her e-mail thing. All through the fall, they keep a spreadsheet of what’s right and wrong with the Steele dossier. It’s all wrong. Can’t corroborate, they can’t collaborate the information. The FBI never should have started the investigation and I think that’s where John Durham’s investigation is focused right now,” he added.

A jury recently found former Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann not guilty of making a false statement to the FBI in September 2016 when he claimed that he was not working on behalf of any client when he brought information alleging a covert communications channel between the Trump Organization and Russia’s Alfa Bank.

“After a two-week trial, and more than a day of deliberations, the jury found that Special Counsel John Durham’s team had not proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Sussmann’s statement was a lie and that he was, in fact, working on behalf of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and technology executive Rodney Joffe when he brought two thumb drives and a white paper alleging a Trump-Russia connection,” Fox News reported.

“The jury included one federal government employee who told the judge they donated to Democrats in 2016 and another government employee who told the judge they strongly dislike former President Trump. Both of those jurors told the judge they could be impartial throughout the trial,” the report added. “The jury also included a teacher, an illustrator, a mechanic, and more. One juror had a child who was on the same high school sports team as Sussmann’s child.”

Durham’s investigation into the origins of the Trump-Russia witch hunt has been heating up for months, with many wanting Hillary Clinton and her allies held accountable.

Former Attorney General Barr, who served under President Donald Trump, believes Durham has made progress in his investigation and that more damning information may come out soon.

Barr said that Durham has “dug very deep” into the origins of the FBI’s investigation into disproven claims that then-candidate Trump was colluding with Russia to interfere with the 2016 election and has uncovered “good information.”

“I think the question all along … has been that this was a campaign-dirty-trick to get the government to investigate allegations — scurrilous allegations — about Donald Trump and then leak that right before the election,” Barr said. “And so that raises two questions: Was the Clinton campaign developing this false information and feeding it in for that purpose? And what was the FBI’s role in this? It tells me that he [has] dug very deep and he has developed some good information and he thinks he can make a criminal case here.”

(RepublicanWire.org) – On the morning of Oct. 28th, police arrived at the Pelosi home in San Francisco after 2 AM.  They reportedly arrived on a wellness check, not a robbery.  When the door opened the police reportedly saw Paul Pelosi and David DePape.  The police did nothing until DePape allegedly pulled a hammer from the much older Pelosi and allegedly hit Pelosi on the head.

The story is full of holes.  How did DePape get near the house without the cameras, security, police, and motion detectors locating him and stopping him?  How did DePape enter the house without someone notifying the Pelosis?   How did he know to go upstairs to see Paul Pelosi?  Why did Paul Pelosi answer the door and then walk back to his attacker?

For some reason, the camera footage from the house has not been released.  Is this because it doesn’t match the narrative created by the FBI?  Also, where is the camera footage from the police?  Why is this not being released?

We heard that DePape was in the hospital as recently as Monday, along with Paul Pelosi.  What are his injuries?  Why don’t we know?

The media wasn’t allowed to be at the court hearing where DePape reportedly pled not guilty.   No one has even seen DePape since this incident.

And now this…

ICE officials are not allowed to talk to illegal alien David DePape.  They are being blocked by California officials.

Jon Feere, a former senior advisor, COS, Customs and Immigration Enforcement (ICE), posted this on his Twitter account on Sunday.

FYI: Sources in ICE tell me that San Francisco is not allowing officers to interview Paul Pelosi’s attacker, David DePape; i.e., Dems and SFPD are siding with the alleged attacker. ICE routinely interviews jailed aliens to determine appropriate next steps, background, etc.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee released a 1,000-page report Friday of potential investigations into how the Biden administration has politicized the Justice Department and the FBI.

Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, the ranking member of the committee, has been gathering information from FBI and DOJ whistleblowers, detailing allegations of politicized justice under President Joe Biden.

“The Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the stewardship of Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland, is broken,” the GOP report states. “The problem lies not with the majority of front-line agents who serve our country, but with the FBI’s politicized bureaucracy.”

Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee say this report is “the first comprehensive accounting of the FBI’s problems to date, which undermine the FBI’s fundamental law-enforcement mission.”

The report features testimony from whistleblowers who describe FBI leadership in Washington, D.C., as “rotted at its core.” They allege a “systemic culture of unaccountability” and say the bureau is beset by “rampant corruption, manipulation, and abuse.”

Other allegations suggest that the FBI is actively seeking to “purge” employees with conservative views and those who dissent from “woke” diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

Democrats hold a slim majority in the House and most projections have the Republican Party taking the majority and the committee gavels in the next Congress come January. Jordan would be in position to chair the powerful House Judiciary Committee.

(RepublicanWire.org) – MSNBC’s Elise Jordan interviewed a panel of Pittsburgh-area Trump supporters to get their take on January 6 and the exchange did not go as she likely expected.

Unfortunately for Elise, she has no grasp of the facts.

The Trump supporters knew what they were talking about when the subject turned to Jan 6.  When the reporter asked them questions they responded with numerous facts about the events of that day and not the folklore pushed by the media.

Calling the events that day an “insurrection,” Jordan asked about Pennsylvania gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano reportedly being present in a restricted location. “Is that OK?” she asked.

After what amounted to a collective shrug, one man wondered, “Which area? Because I saw a video where Capitol officers were taking away barriers and unlocking doors for people.”

“They opened the gates and let them in,” another said.

Surprised, Jordan followed up, “So it shouldn’t be disqualifying for an elected official if they participated in January 6?”

“He didn’t strike anybody, he didn’t hurt anybody,” a man responded.

A woman then reminded her that the only person who was killed that day was unarmed Trump supporter Ashli Babbitt.

“A police officer did die,” she countered.

The Trump supporters then informed her Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick wasn’t killed that day.

According to medical examiners, Sicknick died of natural causes (two strokes) the day after, which were not hastened by injury.

Jordan then wanted to know what they made of the day, noting that footage of the riot “was pretty disturbing.”

“So what do you make though, overall of January 6th?” the MSNBC host asked. “I mean, it was, watching that footage, it was pretty disturbing. I mean there were people throwing excrement at the walls and it was our, you know, it’s the capital.”

“It looked a lot like Antifa’s actions,” one panelist objected.

“Except on a much smaller scale,” another added. “It looked the same as the Black Lives Matter riots.”

“That’s what I saw, the similarities around it…”

“Kenosha burns,” another added.

“But, so it’s okay,” the MSNBC host objected. “Just because, just because one side that disagree with…”

“Anybody who harmed anybody, anybody who caused property destruction, that needs to be dealt with,” a panelist said. “But if you’re there making your voice heard at the People’s House, no less. That’s again, it’s a fundamental constitutional right of an American citizen. And people should not be being held political prisoner because of it.”

“For misdemeanors,” another added. “That’s East Germany.”

“That’s East Germany tactics,” a fellow panelist agreed. “Yeah. That’s what’s scary.”

“It was an actual fiery, but mostly peaceful protest,” a guest said, referring ironically to the BLM riots. “And the other ones that…”

“Was the protest legitimate in your eyes?” the MSNBC reporter asked.

“This administration, I feel like, is using it as their Reichstag fire,” the Trump voter argued. “Yeah, that’s exactly what they’re using it as. ”

In another segment, MSNBC gets into the role President Trump allegedly played on January 6.

“Do you think that President Trump could have quelled the violence that day?” the host asked.

“Not him personally,” one panelist replied.

“No, I don’t think so,” another said.

“It started while he was still speaking,” one woman said. “I was actually there. I was there to see what I thought was going to be the last time I ever saw Trump…”

“So did he tell everybody to go and start rioting?” a fellow panelist asked.

“No,” she responded.

“I didn’t think so,” the woman remarked.

“No. And it actually I stayed for the whole speech, like a ton of people did,” she went on. “And then we all headed to the capitol ’cause he said, Let’s go to the capitol and, and peacefully…”

“Peacefully, a key word,” a woman commented.

“And peacefully make our voices heard,” she said. “We get to the capital, we’re like, What the hell’s going on? ‘Cause it had already happened.”

“I’m pretty sure I saw Democratic operatives instigating people to cross the barrier,” one man said.

The pro-Trump panelist may have been referring to Ray Epps, who was caught in video instigating the rioters, but inexplicably hasn’t been charged.

(RepublicanWire.org) – In a Tucker Carlson exclusive, former Hunter Biden business partner Tony Bobulinski told the Fox News host that he presented evidence to the FBI that the Bidens committed multiple felonies but FBI agent Timothy Thibault, who ran point on the investigation, never followed up with him or his lawyers.

Bobluinski then told Carlson, “If Facebook or Twitter had reached out to me and asked if the email The New York Post published was real, within five minutes if anyone reached out, I would have produced the email.”

Bobulinski was so convinced that what he had on the Bidens would put them both away, that he challenged CNN’s Jake Tapper to bring him in for an hour-long interview. “I’ll come for an interview, I’ll come for an hour, you can be as aggressive as you want to be with me. You can call me a liar, you can attack the facts. The good news is, it’s just not my word against the Bidens. I have thousands of documents, text messages, WhatsApp conversations, recordings of the sitting President of the United States in his own voice and I’d love to have that debate,” Bobulinski told Carlson.

Bobulinski then told Carlson that Joe Biden’s brother called him in the middle of his interview with the FBI on October 23 during the 2020 election. He says the agents then got out of their chairs and left the room but there was no one on the line when he answered. It was the last communication Tony Bobulisnki had with the Biden family.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Special prosecutor John Durham is winding down his probe into the origin of the Trump Russia claims that rocked the country for years with no further charges according to media reports.

Durham could call another grand jury but according to the report, there are currently no plans to do so. Durham and his team are working on finishing a final report by the end of the year.

But Merrick garland will determine if it is released, in what form it is released, and what will be redacted so don’t expect much. In another sign Durham is wrapping it up, one of the lead prosecutors on his team is leaving for a job with a prominent law firm.

Durham and his team used a grand jury in Washington to indict Michael Sussmann, a prominent cybersecurity lawyer with ties to Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign.

Sussman was indicted last year on a charge of making a false statement to the FBI at a meeting in which he shared a tip about potential connections between computers associated with Trump and a Kremlin-linked Russian bank.

Sussmann was acquitted of that charge at trial in May.

A grand jury based in the Eastern District of Virginia last year indicted a Russia analyst who had worked with Christopher Steele, a former British spy who was the author of a dossier of rumors and unproven assertions about Trump.

The dossier played no role in the FBI’s decision to begin examining the ties between Russia and the Trump campaign. It was used in an application to obtain a warrant to surveil a Trump campaign associate.

The analyst, Igor Danchenko, who is accused of lying to federal investigators, goes on trial next month in Alexandria, Virginia.

In the third case, Durham’s team negotiated a plea deal with an FBI lawyer whom an inspector general had accused of doctoring an email used in preparation for a wiretap renewal application.

The plea deal resulted in no prison time.

Durham has one case outstanding. From Just the News:

In a bombshell revelation, Special Prosecutor John Durham revealed Tuesday in court filings that the FBI paid a Russian businessman as a confidential human source in the investigation of Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign even though it had prior concerns that businessman was tied to Moscow’s intelligence services.

Durham persuaded the federal judge in the upcoming trial of Igor Danchenko to unseal a motion revealing that Danchenko, the primary source of the now-discredited Steele dossier, was paid by the FBI as a confidential human source for more than three years until the fall of 2020 when he was terminated for lying to agents.

Danchenko is charged with five counts of lying to the bureau during that relationship and faces trial next month in federal court in the Virginia suburbs of Washington D.C.
