(RepublicanWire.org) – On Monday, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador actually said out loud during a press conference that Mexico is safer than the United States.

This response was in reference to the brutal cartel killings of two Americans and additional kidnapping of two others. President López Obrador continued by claiming that U.S. travel warnings and reports of violence in Mexico are exaggerated, and to take things a step further, actually a conspiracy by conservative politicians and the media just so they can make him look bad.

“Mexico is safer than the United States,” he assured the press. “There is not problem in traveling safely in Mexico.”

“These conservative politicians… dominate the majority of the news media in the United States,” he added. “This violence is not a reality. It is pure, vile manipulation.”

According to the Global Conflict Tracker put together by the Center for Preventative Action which was updated in January of this year:

“By 2016, drug-related homicides had increased by 22 percent, with more than twenty thousand killed, and in 2017 a mass grave containing the remains of more than 250 victims of crime-related violence was uncovered in Veracruz State. Since 2006, crime-related violence has resulted in an estimated 150,000 deaths.”

Mexico’s nationwide homicide rate is about 28 per 100,000 inhabitants. By comparison, the U.S. homicide rate is barely one-quarter as high, at around 7 per 100,000.

The U.S. State Department has placed “do not travel” advisories on six Mexican states which have been the forefront of intense violence by the drug cartels.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Lori Lightfoot is on the cusp of being the first Chicago mayor defeated in 40 years so the failed mayor played her last desperate card.

Lori said if the rise in crime that will doom her: “This is a national phenomenon, if the person who’s scared in my city it doesn’t matter what’s happening anywhere else.

“Of course, you can’t have lived through what we lived through and say I did everything perfect.

“We made mistakes.

“I remember Rahm Emanuel appearing on the cover of Time magazine, the headline was basically like: ‘Tough guy for Chicago.

“No woman or woman of color is ever going to get that headline.”

According to Politico here grating style turned off even her Dem allies:

“But a sitting mayor — particularly one with as much, yes, clout as the one in Chicago wields — should not be at risk of missing a runoff.

“That she is, her allies and adversaries alike say, is because she’s alienated so many Democrats with her mercurial style.

“Take Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, the billionaire Democrat who’s eager to both bring the Democratic convention to Chicago in 2024 and continue his political climb thereafter.

“The affable Hyatt heir would, you’d think, be eager to nurture a relationship with a mayor who, as a gay Black woman, represents three of the party’s core demographics.

”But the two have clashed so often that Pritzker has stayed out of the mayoral race so far and Lightfoot has made no attempt to repair their relationship.

“Nor, I’m told, has she made any effort to personally solicit support from Chicago’s own Barack Obama or the current Democrat in the White House.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Republican Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey made his move to fire Democratic St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner after she refused to resign following a tragic accident that involved a repeat offender who was free despite several violations of his bond terms.

“I initiated legal proceedings to remove her from office,” Bailey said. “That was filed at 12:01 p.m. today. Instead of protecting victims, Circuit Attorney Gardner is creating them. My office will do everything in its power to restore order, and eliminate the chaos in St. Louis caused by Kim Gardner’s neglect of her office.”

Gov. Mike Parson said: “What I believe is that she is not doing what she needs to be doing as the prosecutor of St. Louis.”

“It would be in the best interest of the city — and this is my opinion, I’m not speaking for the caucus — for Kim Gardner to resign and let the city move on,” said Dem state Rep. Steve Butz.

“This is about a quantum of evidence that demonstrates her failure to prosecute cases, failure to inform and confer with victims in cases and failure to file new cases that are referred by law enforcement agencies,” Bailey told Fox News.

“I’m a former prosecutor. I’ve worked in a county prosecutor’s office, and what motivated me every day was the rule of law and finding justice for victims.

“And rather than finding justice for victims and protecting victims, the circuit attorney of the city of St. Louis was creating new victims.

“And someone’s got to hold her accountable and that’s that’s why we’re moving forward with our quo warranto,” he added.

St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner held a press conference on Thursday. Her supporters were in the audience and cheered her work as Circuit Attorney. St. Louis has one of the highest homicide rates in the world.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot was swiftly ridiculed for decrying the mass shooting in Colorado, while her own city is plagued with rampant gang violence and fatal shootings.

The Democratic mayor responded to the deadly shooting at a gay nightclub in Colorado, where five people were killed and dozens were injured, by saying that it made her “sick.”

“I’m sick of this s—. How many people need to be murdered? How many lives torn apart? Until it actually stops? We don’t have to live like this. And we don’t have to die like this,” she wrote on Twitter on Sunday.

This past weekend at least 20 people were shot and three were killed in gang-related shootings in the Windy City, according to local news outlet ABC7.

Lightfoot’s tweet was quickly ratioed, with Twitter users calling on the mayor to address her own city’s problems with violence.

Conservative radio host Dan O’Donnell tweeted, “I’m not sure, but it seems like you might be in a position to do something about murders in Chicago.

Others mocked the mayor’s seemingly tone-deaf tweet.

Conservative pundit and talk show host Dave Rubin called her a clown.

Journalist Siraj Hashmi reminded the mayor, “My sister in Islam, you’re literally the mayor of Chicago.”

Former ESPN sportscaster Jeannine Edwards also wondered where the Democrat’s outrage was for the murders in her own city.

“Where is your outrage at the dozens of murders in our city every week? Gangs and criminals are running the place…not you,” Edwards tweeted.

(RepublicanWire.org) – The Democrats know that their main vulnerabilities heading into Tuesday’s midterm elections are inflation, gas prices, crime and illegal immigration. The Dem strategy is now to gaslight by pretending those problems don’t really exist, and if they do in some places they’re just the fault of Republican exaggerations in their efforts to win back the House, Senate and state offices.

Hillary Clinton is trying to help out the Democrats by claiming that increased crime is actually a problem Republicans have caused.

“The states with the highest crime levels are states run by Republicans. That’s just a fact! We saw that very clearly in the recent debate in Oklahoma.” Clinton proclaimed.

Hillary is just trying to scare voters into not voting Republican by claiming Republicans are just scaring voters. It is both confusing and ridiculous.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Appearing with MSNBC’s Al Sharton, Hochul pushed back against Republican worries about crime only days head of the midterm elections. Hochul even referred to Republican critics at one point as “master manipulators.”

“These are master manipulators. They have this conspiracy going all across America trying to convince people in Democratic states that they’re not as safe. Well guess what? They’re also not only election deniers, they’re data deniers,” she said.

The governor blasted states with less strict gun laws and blasted her opponent, Republican Lee Zeldin, for coming from Long Island, where crime has been down.

Safer spaces today, Hochul claimed, are Democratic-controlled states.

“Safer places are the Democratic states,” she said.

Crime in New York’s subway system is up by 41% as of Oct. 17, CNN reported, citing statistics from New York Police Department.

With crime on the rise nationwide, 64% of Americans blame “woke politicians” for the issue, according to a recent Harvard-Harris poll. Fifty-two percent of Democrats, 75% of Republicans and 60% of independents blamed “woke politicians” rather than “other factors” for the nation’s historic increase in crime.

Hochul has been blasted over a remark she made during a debate with Zeldin last week, when he confronted her about the skyrocketing crime in New York, and she literally said, “I don’t know why that’s so important to you”?

Meanwhile, Zeldin tweeted Sunday evening, “Just left Borough Park. It’s clearer than ever we have all of the energy and momentum on our side, we have the issues on our side, and, in 9 Days, New Yorkers are ALL IN to FIRE Kathy Hochul, TAKE BACK our streets, and SAVE our State!”

Early voting in New York started Saturday and goes through next Sunday. The election is Nov. 8.

With the election coming down to the wire, an unconstitutional infringement was caught on video showing NYPD removing Lee Zeldin signs in Brooklyn.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Dem politicians in Illinois committed political suicide in a late-night vote and will eliminate cash bail after the new year. Dem politicians like Lori Lightfoot, Kim Foxx, and J.B. Pritzker do not get the benefit of the doubt after their lax policies led to a surge in violent crime in Chicago, with most of the crimes committed by repeat offenders who should have been locked up.

In one famous case, Kim Foxx refused to charge anyone after a gun battle erupted in the streets of the city. She said they were mutual combatants so she couldn’t charge anyone. Carjackings are up, the citizens of Chicago are hiring private security to police their own neighborhoods and they want to double down on the radical policies?

Patrick Windhorst, former state’s attorney and current state representative for district 118, said: “I believe the elimination of cash bail, particularly as it’s written in the SAFE-T Act, will reduce public safety and lead to more crime particularly more violent crime in Illinois.

“I know that talking with prosecutors and law enforcement officers, they’re really concerned that the public is going to point the finger at them and say, ‘Why aren’t you doing more about these offenses?’

“And with this major change in the law, beginning January 1st, a lot of their ability to do their jobs has been restrained.

“So there are a whole list of violent crimes, burglary, robbery, arson, kidnapping, almost all drug offenses even drug distribution, DUI offenses, even DUI offenses that are involving a fatality, that do not qualify for detention under the Illinois Safety Act.

“To me, that’s going to mean a lot of individuals are committing crimes and being released immediately, if not within a couple of days,” he said.

Johnson County Sheriff Peter Sopczak said: “Anyone sitting in jail right now with all these pending charges, they’re going to be let out.

“The gates are open and they’re going to be let out onto the streets.”

“So it’s really taking the hands out of the police arresting people.

“We’re going to end up calling someone saying, ‘Can we arrest them?’

“Just because of liability if you take someone into custody and it doesn’t meet all the criteria, well, then you can get in trouble.”

DuPage County State’s Attorney Bob Berlin said:

“Yeah, they did change the law.

“And when a police officer can use deadly force under the new law, officers now have to evaluate each situation in light of the totality of the circumstances.

“In each case, which includes proximity in time to the use of force, to the commission of a force of a felony, and the reasonable feasibility of safely apprehending the subject at a later time.

“So in any emergency situation, a split second decision, an officer has to be thinking, am I able to reasonably apprehend this person at a later date?”

James Murphy III, a former office manager for Cook County State Attorney Kim Foxx, criticized the SAFE-T Act, in his blistering resignation letter.

He wrote:

“I have been thinking about leaving for a while now. Really, the thoughts began back in January of 2021, when the ‘SAFE-T Act’ was passed.

“Seeing this administration’s involvement in that process was an eye-opening experience for me. To be clear, I am in support of eliminating cash bail – no person should sit in jail solely because they can’t afford to pay for bail.

“But I never understood the rush on an issue that was so important. I voiced my concerns at the time. And it was in that process that I began to realize that the administration’s ‘Mission Vision and Values’ was just a PR stunt, just words on a page.

“Fairness. Accountability. Integrity. Respect. Collaboration.

“Those words should mean something. They do to me. And I know that they do to you as well. Yet time after time after time this administration has shown that they don’t live the meaning of those words. Or they don’t care,” he said.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Kentucky Senate Democratic nominee, Charles Booker, released a disgusting ad attacking Senator Rand Paul with the suggestion that he’s pro-lynching.

Charles Booker, a former state lawmaker who is the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Kentucky, released a video Wednesday that attacks Paul for opposing an anti-lynching bill in 2020. The ad does not mention why Paul opposed the bill, or that he co-sponsored a new bipartisan version of that legislation this year that went on to become law.

“My opponent?” he continues, as an image of Paul grimacing appears. “The very person who compared expanded health care to slavery. The person who said he would have opposed the Civil Rights Act. The person who single-handedly blocked an anti-lynching act from being federal law.”

“The choice couldn’t be clearer,” Booker states as the camera shifts back to him. “Do we move forward together? Or do we let politicians like Rand Paul forever hold us back and drive us apart?”

The ad takes Rand Paul’s remarks and positions out of context, especially with regard to the anti-lynching proposal that he blocked.

In 2020 Paul held up a bill that would make lynching a federal hate crime, however, that’s not the full story. Paul said at the time that lynching should be “universally condemned,” but objected to language in the bill that included non-fatal injuries as lynching.

“If you’re gonna call something an anti-lynching bill, but you’re gonna have a new conspiracy charge for someone who has minor bruising, we don’t think that’s appropriate. And someone has to read these bills and make sure they do what they say they’re going to do rather than it be just a big PR effort, and then everybody gets up in arms and wants to beat up anybody who wants to read the bill, and actually make the bill stronger,” he told reporters.

In 2022, Paul co-sponsored an updated version of that bill with Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) that addressed his concerns.

“Strengthening the language of this bill has been my goal all along, and I’m pleased to have worked with Senators Cory Booker and Tim Scott to get this right and ensure the language of this bill defines lynching as the absolutely heinous crime that it is,” said Dr. Paul. “I’m glad to cosponsor this bipartisan effort and urge the Senate to quickly pass it.”

The ad by Booker, was called “powerful” by some media organizations.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Crime is up, and President Joe Biden’s administration would like you to believe they’re supporting local law enforcement in dealing with the surge.

In one brutal six-minute clip from Attorney General Merrick Garland’s testimony before the Senate Appropriations Committee on Tuesday, however, GOP Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana dismantled the administration’s top law enforcement official over how serious it was about supporting cops in cities which have borne the brunt of the recent crime wave.

According to the Daily Caller, the Department of Justice is asking for $37.65 billion in funding for Fiscal Year 2023. That’s a $2.63 billion increase.

However, Kennedy didn’t think that money was going to the right places, particularly given the circumstances.

“I think the Justice Department is losing. I think you’re losing on crime,” Kennedy began.

“I think you’re losing on drugs. I think you’re losing on immigration. I think you’re losing on Chinese espionage.”

On crime, Kennedy began by asking Garland what percentage of law enforcement officers he thought were “bad cops” or “racist.” He also asked what percentage of cops didn’t follow the Constitution. In all cases, Garland said the number was very small.

All right, then: “Why doesn’t the Justice Department support stop, question and frisk?” Kennedy asked. Garland said he wasn’t aware of a Justice Department position, so Kennedy restated: “Why doesn’t the Justice Department aggressively encourage law enforcement officials to use that technique?”

“Let’s take Chicago, where we haven’t made any inroads in stopping the killing,” Kennedy said. The city has already seen 169 murders in 2022 and almost 800 in 2021, which was the highest number since 1996.

“Chicago is now the world’s largest outdoor shooting range. We know that a lot of the shootings come from gangs,” Kennedy said.

“Why wouldn’t you want to call the police chief and the mayor in Chicago and say, ‘Look, you know who these gang members are. When you have reasonable suspicion under Terry v. Ohio, an objective standard, more than just a hunch, why don’t you aggressively stop, question and frisk these gang members?”

Garland deflected: “The best way for the federal government to stop violent crime is to work at each local level and determine, and let the state and locals determine, what the best use of their own resources is.”

“I’m sorry to interrupt, but I’m trying to get some answers,” Kennedy said. “Why won’t you do that? Just tell me why you won’t do that. Your opinion matters.”

“Because there is no one-solution-fits-all that the federal government can suggest to state and local law enforcement,” Garland responded. “We believe state and local law enforcement knows best as to what to do there. We provide our technical expertise. We put lots of resources into joint task forces.”

And that’s where Kennedy pounced, as they like to say.

“You are asking in the middle of raging inflation for 7 percent more money, $2.63 billion, to provide technical increase, technical advice?” Kennedy said

“I mean, we’re going backwards here on crime, General. You are the country’s chief law enforcement officer, and you won’t even answer my question about how you feel about stop, question and frisk?”

The answer is obvious: Stop, question and frisk is highly effective. It’s also highly radioactive in leftist circles since it’s assumed the practice will be applied in a racist manner. The issue practically destroyed Michael Bloomberg’s 2020 Democratic presidential campaign before it began because of his endorsement of stop-and-frisk during his time as New York City mayor. Coming out and endorsing it would be suicide for anyone in the Biden administration, much less Attorney General Garland.

And yet, Kennedy prefaced this by making sure everyone knew Garland didn’t think cops were “bad” or “racist” and that they followed the Constitution. Thus, if they weren’t targeting people by race and respecting their constitutional rights, stop-and-frisk should be something the Department of Justice is encouraging in cities like Chicago, right?

This administration can “fund the police” all it wants — but we’ll still have the same lawlessness and a bigger pile of debt to go with it.

(RepublicanWire.org) – A growing trail of violent crime is sweeping across America. However, countless murders, robberies, assaults and property destruction are the result of “woke” district attorneys who run their offices with little to no accountability, limited prosecutorial experience, a propensity for crime, and a trend of unfairly prosecuting political adversaries.

At the state level, far-left radical beneficiaries of the George Soros “Secretary of State Project,” the American non-profit, progressive 527 political action committee, focused on electing “reform-minded progressive” Secretaries of State in battleground states. These offices typically oversee the election process in their state. The Project is funded by Soros and members of the Democracy Alliance.

Here is list by state and jurisdiction of every DA identified by the Capital Research Center (CRC) as receiving Soros funding, and some notable details about each. Some of the commentary comes from CRC observations.

California

Diana Becton—Contra Costa County, California. Backed by $275,000 from Soros in 2018, Becton became the first woman and first African American elected to serve as DA for Contra Costa County. She is also one of the first in the position to have zero prior experience as a prosecutor. During Becton’s first years in office four Contra Costa cities made the list of the top 100 most dangerous cities in California in 2018, and both violent crime and property crime increased by several percent during 2019.

George Gascon—Los Angeles County, California. Soros has spent a combined $6 million on California DA races, much of it wasted on failed candidates, but almost half was spent on the successful campaign of George Gascon for Los Angles DA. Soros was the largest spender in the race, and Gascon won easily.

Since the election, his implementation of left-wing policies led to a crime wave that has become the stuff of legend. Homicide rates soared, organized shoplifting sprees ravaged the city, trains were stopped and ransacked by mobs of looters. Under Gascon’s watch the city of Los Angles has rapidly become a national disgrace.

Florida

Monique Worrell—Ninth Judicial Circuit (Orange and Osceola County), Florida. Monique Worrell is the second Soros candidate to become state attorney for Orange and Osceola County. Her predecessor, Aramis Ayala, was a “long-shot candidate” elected in 2016 with the help of more than $1.3 million in spending by the Florida Safety and Justice PAC. Ayala immediately earned a reputation for her activist approach, which led to her removal from multiple high-profile murder cases by two different Republican governors. During Ayala’s tenure, violent crime increased dramatically, with murders increasing by 26 percent during 2020.

After Ayala left office to run for Congress, Worrell filled her shoes, with $1 million from Soros’s Democracy PAC surging into the race at the last minute to help her claim victory against her moderate opponent in 2020.

Georgia

Darius Pattillo—Henry County, Georgia. Receiving just under $150,000 from Soros through the Georgia Safety and Justice PAC, Patello was elected in 2016 and has remained the most unremarkable Soros-backed DA elected to date. In fact, Soros’s funding of Patello nearly went unreported, possibly because Patello does not seem to share the radical views of his fellow Soros DAs.

Illinois

Kim Foxx—Cook County (Chicago), Illinois. Probably the most famous Soros-backed DA, Foxx was boosted into office with the help of $2 million in Soros cash. Foxx has most recently been in the news for potential ethics violations in her 2019 decision to drop charges against Jussie Smollet for his infamous hate crime hoax. (Smollett was recently convicted on the same charges.) Foxx has also made headlines for presiding over Chicago’s largest spike in homicides in more than 30 years while her office dropped charges against 30 percent of felony defendants during 2020.

Louisiana

James Stewart—Caddo Parish, Louisiana. Probably the least well-known and least radical Soros-funded DA, James Stewart was elected as the DA of Caddo Parish, Louisiana, in 2015 with the help of more than $930,000 in funding from Soros. Stewart has enacted few radical reforms since his election, potentially a disappointing result for Soros. His opponents at the time worried that his progressive views on criminal justice would be “detrimental to the safety of Caddo Parish.”

Mississippi

Scott Colom—Circuit Court District Sixteen, Mississippi. Another of the lesser-known Soros-funded Das, Colom quietly received over $926,000 in funding from Soros to help unseat a long-time incumbent in 2015. Colom oversees  District 16 in Mississippi, which includes Lowndes, Oktibbeha, Clay, and Noxubee Counties. Colom was recently recommended by Rep. Bernie Thompson (D-MS) for a position as a judge for the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of Mississippi. Meanwhile, violent crime, specifically gun violence, remains a serious and growing problem for cities and counties in the 16th Circuit, a problem that Colom has been accused of doing little to combat.

Jody Owens—Hinds County, Mississippi. Aided by a $500,000 contribution from Soros’s Mississippi Justice and Public Safety PAC, Owens was elected in 2019 after running on a platform that promised reform and “alternatives to incarceration.” Owens brought controversy with him to the DA’s office. In 2019, Owens was accused of sexually harassing his female colleagues while working at the Southern Poverty Law Center, an organization with a well-documented proclivity for enabling and ignoring sexual harassment in the workplace.

Owens has also recently brought highly questionable murder charges against two police officers. The charges were dismissed with prejudice for lack of evidence that officers “caused any injury” to the alleged victim. Under Owens, Jackson has become one of the deadliest cities in the nation, and in 2021 the city saw over 150 homicides (98 murders per 100,000 residents), an all-time high.

Missouri

Kim Gardner—St. Louis, Missouri. One of the most famous and polarizing Soros-backed DAs, Kim Gardner has served as the circuit attorney of crime-ridden St. Louis since 2017 and has repeatedly used her office to prosecute conservatives while allowing criminals to walk free.

In 2018, Gardner launched a bogus criminal investigation against Missouri’s Republican governor, which led to a special investigation into her office that found probable cause that Gardner engaged in professional misconduct by hiring a private investigator who has since been charged with perjury and evidence tampering. Gardner was also the lead attorney in the absurd prosecution of Mark McCloskey, but was removed from the case by a judge who wrote “the Circuit Attorney’s conduct raises the appearance that she initiated a criminal prosecution for political purposes.”

Gardner was caught lying about police officers who pulled her over for driving without headlights at night, has admitted to campaign finance violations, and has badly mishandled murder cases. The year after Gardner’s election, St. Louis became the murder capital of the nation, but this did not stop Soros from contributing $116,000 to aid her reelection in 2020. In early 2021, St. Louis became one of the deadliest cities in the world.

New Mexico

Raul Torrez—Bernalillo County (Albuquerque), New Mexico. Although his ties to Soros are less well known and his ideas are slightly less radical, Albuquerque’s DA also got his start from $107,000 in Soros cash that boosted his unopposed campaign in 2016. As of mid-November, Albuquerque had experienced 102 homicides in 2021, the highest number ever recorded, compared to the 67 reported at the same time last year.

Meanwhile, Torrez is busy campaigning for New Mexico Attorney General. Soros’s money is likely to make an appearance in that upcoming race as well.

New York

Alvin Bragg—Manhattan, New York. One of Soros’s newest DA’s, Bragg was elected in 2021 as the DA of Manhattan, largely thanks to approximately $1.1 million given by Soros that year to groups supporting Bragg. Even though Bragg has barely been in office, his tenure is already shaping up as a disaster. After Bragg released a memo stating that his office would not be seeking prison sentences for crimes such as armed robbery, drug dealing, and burglary, more than nine prosecutors in Manhattan quit. Interestingly, one area where Bragg is not expected to be overly lenient is an investigation into President Donald Trump’s business practices, which Bragg conveniently took over after assuming office.

David Clegg—Ulster County, New York. Soros cash to the tune of at least $184,000 was used to push Ulster County DA David Clegg across the finish line in his 2019 election, but it was also the source of a major controversy at the time. In an embarrassing guffaw, the New York Justice and Public Safety PAC paid for mailers that featured Clegg shaking hands with a prominent criminal and left-wing activist. Under Clegg, gun crimes and shootings have surged dramatically, and high profile cases have been badly mishandled, including a murder case in which the suspect was released because Clegg’s office failed to file an indictment on time.

Pennsylvania

Larry Krasner—Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Among the most famous Soros-backed DAs, Krasner has been supported by more than $2 million from Soros funneled through the Pennsylvania Justice and Public Safety PAC and the Philadelphia Justice and Public Safety PAC. Krasner was reelected in 2021 with the help of a $259,000 contribution from Soros. Under Krasner’s watch, crime rates have soared, and in 2021, Philadelphia became the murder capital of the United States with the highest per capita homicide rate of the country’s 10 largest cities.

Jack Stollsteimer—Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Lesser known but also well financed by Soros, Stollsteimer was the first Democratic DA ever elected in Delaware County, boosted by roughly $100,000 in ads paid for by Soros during 2019. While still undoubtedly a progressive, Stollsteimer is much less radical than Krasner and has not been openly hostile to police. He did, however, recently feud with police over the graphic details of a report on a rape in broad daylight on a train with many witnesses, none of whom tried to intervene. During Stollsteimer’s first year in office, homicides in Delaware County increased 127 percent, though many attribute this to the county’s proximity to Philadelphia.

Texas

Joe Gonzalez—Bexar County (San Antonio), Texas. George Soros has even dared to mess with Texas. Joe Gonzalez is one of Soros’s favorite DAs, receiving nearly $1 million in backing from the billionaire during his 2018 campaign, upsetting incumbent Democrat Nico LaHood in the primary. Just as in Dallas, violent crime reportedly increased by 15 percent in San Antonio under Gonzalez, while convictions dropped by 17 percent.

John Creuzot—Dallas County, Texas. Backed by an estimated $236,000 from Soros, Creuzot became the DA of Dallas County in 2018 and immediately moved forward with a plethora of radical reform policies, including decriminalizing theft under $750, criminal trespass, and drug possession. During his first year in office crime reportedly increased by 15 percent while total convictions dropped by 30 percent. Most recently, Creuzot failed to get a conviction in straightforward case against Billy Chemirmir, a Kenyan immigrant charged with murdering and robbing 18 elderly women in assisted living facilities. He was found with his alleged victims’ personal papers and jewelry in his possession at the time of his arrest.

Brian Middleton—Fort Bend County, Texas. Although it went unnoticed and unreported by the media, Soros played a major role in the 2019 campaign of Fort Bend County DA Brian Middleton, spending nearly $200,000 on advertising in support of his campaign. Middleton has been extremely moderate as far as Soros-backed candidates go, and as a result Fort Bend County has not seen a dramatic spike in crime.

Kim Ogg—Harris County (Houston), Texas. In 2016, Kim Ogg became the state’s first Soros-backed DA after Soros spent more than $600,000 on the race. As one of the first reform DA’s backed by Soros, Ogg is also one of the most moderate. She has stopped prosecuting marijuana offenses, but often seeks high cash bail, causing her to be ostracized by many progressives and apparently Soros.

José Garza—Travis County (Austin), Texas. In 2020, Garza was elected as Austin’s DA with the aid of more than $400,000 in ads paid for by the Texas Justice and Public Safety PAC, one of Soros’s private PACs that has received roughly $3.6 million from the billionaire since its creation in 2018. Since assuming office, Garza has developed a reputation for letting violent offenders go free on little to no bail.

In 2020, Garza released hundreds of inmates from jail over COVID-19 protocols, even though only six people in Austin at the time were known to have COVID-19. In 2021, Garza released a man with eight prior felony convictions after he was caught toting a gun in a meth-fueled car chase with police. After his release with an ankle monitor, the man allegedly went on a crime spree committing 10 armed robberies. Since Garza was elected, police budgets have been slashed, and Austin has experienced skyrocketing crime rates and a record number of homicides.

Virginia

Parisa Dehghani-Tafti—Arlington County and City of Falls Church, Virginia. Backed by over $600,000 from the Justice and Public Safety PAC, one of George Soros’s many personal PACs, Dehghani-Tafti won her 2019 election by toppling a moderate Democratic incumbent and has been a center of controversy ever since. Dehghani-Tafti, along with several other Soros-backed DAs in Virginia, is facing a recall petition after crimes like felony aggravated assault rose 40 percent during her first year in office.

Steve Descano—Fairfax County, Virginia. Steve Descano, who is also facing a recall petition, was elected in 2019 and has endorsed a progressive platform typical of the left-wing DA faction. Descano has made it his office’s official policy not to prosecute more than 20 different crimes including shoplifting for goods under $1,000, prostitution, and indecent exposure. Descano’s initial campaign benefitted from approximately $600,000 from Soros.

Buta Biberaj—Loudoun County, Virginia. As Loudoun County District Attorney, Buta Biberaj has championed an anti-incarceration approach to the job, but made headlines for personally seeking jail time for Scott Smith, a father who was arrested for misdemeanor disorderly conduct at a Loudoun County School Board meeting while protesting the School Board’s cover-up of his 14-year-old daughter’s rape by a transgender boy in a school bathroom. Smith’s defense attorneys reported that it was “completely unheard of” for a DA to personally handle a misdemeanor, much less to pursue jail time, court-ordered anger management, and a hefty fine. Biberaj’s campaign in 2019 was boosted by over $650,000 in Soros cash, and she is now facing a recall petition.

Ramin Fatehi—Norfolk County, Virginia. One of the latest additions to Soros’s collection of rogue prosecutors, Ramin Fatehi was one of very few Democrats to win a Virginia election in 2021, largely thanks to about $220,000 in funding from Soros. Fatehi has yet to make a name for himself as DA, but he ran on the typical progressive platform of promising to abolish cash bail and decriminalize marijuana possession.

Using the same playbook successfully followed in Hungary, Greece, Britain, and a dozen other countries, Soros-funded groups were behind anti-Trump mobs that blocked streets, set fires, injured police officers, and destroyed property the day after his 2017 national election. As expected, they turned up the volume in 2020.
