(RepublicanWire.org) – Fox News’ Tucker Carlson unloaded on Joe Biden’s plan to create a taxpayer-funded thought police that so happens will be deployed ahead of the 2022 midterms.

Carlson said, “When Elon Musk first announced that he was buying Twitter, it was pretty obvious the Democratic Party would soon become unhinged, not just angry or annoyed in the way you’re very used to, but instead legitimately terrified and hysterical. Imagine how you’d feel if an armed intruder broke into your home at 3 in the morning. You couldn’t exactly know where things were going, but you’d be dead certain that everything was at stake. That’s how Democrats feel right now, because, in fact, everything is at stake.”

“Joe Biden cannot continue to control this country if you have free access to information. It’s that simple. Biden certainly is not improving your life. He’s not even trying to improve your life. So, the best he can do is lie to you and demand that you believe it, but to do that, he needs to make certain that nobody else can talk because if you were to hear the truth, you might not obey. How is Biden going to pull that off? It’s not easy. Well, one option would be to get men with guns to tell you to shut up. Most Americans probably haven’t thought of that because this isn’t Africa or Eastern Europe. This is America and we don’t do things like that here and never have. More precisely, we haven’t until now, but now Joe Biden is president and everything is different.”

“So today, to herald the coming of the new Soviet America, the administration announced its own Ministry of Truth. This will be called the Disinformation Governance Board. Laugh if you want, but just to show you, they’re not kidding around here. This board is not part of the State Department or any other agency focused on foreign threats from abroad. No, the Disinformation Governance Board is part of the Department of Homeland Security. DHS is a law enforcement agency designed to police the United States and that, by the way, has a famously large stockpile of ammunition. So, it’s not a joke at all. Here’s DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.”

“So Mayorkas told us that disinformation is a threat to homeland security. Now he’s the head of the Department of Homeland Security, so presumably he would know since assessing threats to Homeland Security is his job, but what he didn’t tell us is how he’s defining disinformation.”

“So here we have this new and terrifying thing that the Biden administration is so concerned about that it’s created a new agency to fight it, but Mayorkas never said or even hinted as to what it might be. So, the man in charge of the disinformation governing board never defined disinformation.”

Carlson went on to warn, “one of our biggest law enforcement agencies has men with guns around the country doing so many things to stop disinformation and false narratives. Those aren’t even lies. They’re just deviations from the approved script. Mayorkas told us again that men with guns planned to “identify individuals who could be descending into violence.” Could be descending. Not people who’ve committed violence or even been accused of any crime at all. DHS is instead using law enforcement powers to identify and punish people who think the wrong things.”

The test run for using these institutions began under Obama. The Department of Justice went after ex-Fox News reporter James Rosen for reporting a story on North Korea that contained classified information. The leak hunt named Rosen as a possible co-conspirator for simply doing his job. The Obama DOJ also obtained phone records of a dozen or so AP reporters. Then, there was the whole Russian collusion hoax. The IRS targeted conservative non-profits. And the FBI doctoring paperwork to obtain FISA spy warrants on Trump campaign officials. They also spied on Trump’s campaign as well. The Left’s long march towards weaponizing the state against its own people can be traced to the man who won the 2008 election. And now, in 2022, they’re going to deputize the DHS to go after conservatives for not thinking the right way. We all know this committee is going to go off the rails. We all know it will be staffed by people who are certifiably insane.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Trevor Noah, host of “The Daily Show,” headlined Saturday night’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner, after President Joe Biden gave his own remarks. Many of the jokes were true, as was also the case with the president’s remarks, specifically as he poked fun at himself with his low approval ratings. When it came time for Noah to reference how the American people are hurting from high costs across the board, Biden’s reaction really drew responses, for all the wrong reasons.

“I think ever since you came into office, things are really looking up, you know. Gas is up, rent is up, food is up, everything.” The camera panned to Biden’s reaction, which wasn’t a simple chuckle, but some hearty laughter.

The next day, on Sunday afternoon, Joe Biden’s personal account tweeted a pitiful attempt of trying to convince Americans that “I’m focused on doing everything I can to lower the cost of gas and energy and accelerate our transition to clean energy.”

The tweet once more prompted replies of that clip of the president laughing while the American people suffer under his administration and due to his policies.

Worse for the president, a poll from The Washington Post-ABC News was released on Sunday morning, as it once more highlights how the American people largely disapprove of how he is handling these issues.

When it comes to how Biden is handling issues such as “the economy,” just 38 percent approve while 57 percent disapprove. On “inflation, that is rising prices,” he has just a 28 percent approval level, while 68 percent disapprove.

(RepublicanWire.org) – The state of Texas has filed another immigration-related lawsuit against the Biden administration following changes to asylum and parole procedures along the border deemed illegal.

The suit filed by Attorney General Ken Paxton is the 11th one related to border and immigration issues.

“I protested the proposed version of these rules back in October 2021, and, unsurprisingly, Biden found a way to make it worse, so I’m suing,” Paxton noted in a statement.

“The last thing Texas needs is for this Administration to make it easier for illegal aliens to enter the U.S. and obtain asylum through false claims and less oversight. We know what’s going to happen when the rule goes into effect in May 2022: wave upon wave of illegal aliens claiming ‘asylum,’” he continued.

“It’s true that our immigration system is extremely backlogged. But the answer is to secure the border, not overwhelm it even more by enacting cheap, easy incentives for illegal aliens to get into the United States,” he added.

According to his complaint, Paxton seeks to block the Department of Homeland Security from implementing a policy changing the system of processing illegal migrants who claim to fear persecution in their home countries.

The rule change shifts handling of those cases from immigration judges to asylum officers. If Paxton’s bid to block the rule is unsuccessful, it will take effect on May 29.

The transfer of authority would upend the present system of handling asylum cases along the border, the complaint alleges.

“The Interim Rule transfers significant authority from immigration judges to asylum officers, grants those asylum officers significant additional authority, limits immigration-judge review to denials of applications, and upends the entire adjudicatory system to the benefit of aliens,” the lawsuit says.

The Texas AG also took to Twitter to blast the Biden administration over its latest change to border policy.

“The last thing TX needs is Biden to make it easy for aliens to break into USA through false claims. We know what’ll happen when the rule goes into effect: new waves of illegals claiming ‘asylum.’ I’m suing to stop it,” he tweeted on Thursday.

A legal challenge last week that was led by Paxton saw the attorneys general of 21 states file suit to stop the administration from ending Title 42, a Trump-era pandemic authority that allowed for rapid deportation of most illegal migrants.

“The Biden Administration has made one disastrous border decision after another, and I’ve sued him at every turn,” Paxton wrote in his complaint. “But his new plan to rescind Title 42 is the most consequential yet. Without Title 42, hundreds of thousands more illegal aliens will flood Texas every month—even more than have been pouring over in the past year.”

On Wednesday, a federal judge ruled that the administration had to continue enforcing Title 42 for the next 14 days.

The order requires the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to continue enforcing the policy, and prevents the agency from implementing the CDC’s order to terminate the program.

“It is hereby ordered that for the next 14 days, unless this Court acts to extend or shorten that period: Defendants, including DHS and all of its subdivisions, agencies, and employees, are hereby enjoined and restrained from implementing the Termination Order, including increases (over pre-Termination Order levels) in processing of migrants from Northern Triangle countries through Title 8 proceedings rather than under the Title 42 Orders, and are further enjoined and restrained from reducing processing of migrants pursuant to Title 42,” the order stated.

“Defendants acknowledge some changes in policy in preparation for the termination of the CDC’s Title 42 Order, particularly with respect to the increased processing via expedited removal of single adults from the Northern Triangle countries (El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras),” U.S. District Judge Robert R. Summerhays wrote.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Attorney General Merrick Garland defended President Joe Biden on Tuesday, saying the president has not interfered with a federal tax fraud investigation involving his son, Hunter Biden.

At a Senate subcommittee hearing, Sen. Bill Hagerty, R-Tenn. pressed Garland about various reports speculating that President Biden “was involved with” his son’s overseas business dealings.

“Do you have any reason to dispute the evidence that indicates that President Biden was involved with and using money from Hunter Biden’s business deals?” asked Hagerty.

“The president has already told his subordinates; clearly, these are people that he can fire at will, that he and his family did nothing wrong. How can the American people be confident that his administration is conducting a serious investigation?” the senator asked.

Garland declined to answer whether he or any senior DOJ official had been briefed on the ongoing probe into Hunter Biden’s business dealings with foreign officials through the years, saying the U.S. attorney for the District of Delaware — a Trump-era appointee — was handling the investigation “unsupervised.”

Garland also said a special counsel wouldn’t be needed for the investigation.

“There will not be interference of any political or improper kind,” Garland said during his sworn testimony.

Later on, Hagerty asked Garland, “Would it be appropriate for the president to call you into the Oval Office and tell you that his son didn’t break the law regarding this matter?”

To which, Garland sternly answered, “Absolutely not! … The president has not done that. The president has committed not to interfere, not only in that investigation but any kind of “

Hagerty then reportedly cut Garland off to highlight recent instances in which the president’s advisers defended Hunter Biden publicly.

White House chief of staff Ron Klain appeared on ABC’s “This Week” program just two days after a federal grand jury reportedly heard testimony about Hunter Biden’s cash flow, while serving on the board of Ukraine energy company Burisma. Klain said: “Of course the president’s confident that his son didn’t break the law.”

Also, White House press secretary Jen Psaki dodged a media question Monday, inquiring about a New York Post report of a Hunter Biden business associate Eric Schwerin, the former president of Hunter Biden’s investment firm Rosemont Seneca, visiting the White House 19 separate times from 2009-13.

The potential relevance here: President Biden has previously stated he has “never spoken” to Hunter Biden, or any of his financial partners, about outside business deals.

Later in the Senate hearing, Hagerty asked Garland whether Americans “can be confident that this administration is conducting a serious investigation.”

Garland answered in the affirmative, adding, “Because you have me as the attorney general, who is committed to the independence of the Justice Department from any influence from the White House in criminal matters.”

(RepublicanWire.org) – President Joe Biden neglected to mention the rampant homelessness plaguing Seattle while speaking about Earth Day while visiting the liberal city Friday.

“Every time I get a little down … I just turn on the television or take a look at all the young people,” Biden said at Seward Park, according ABC News. “They are really, really energized–whether it’s basic human rights or it’s the environment.” Seattle’s homeless problem has worsened, spawning homeless camps littered with human waste, drugs and crime, according to the Washington Policy Center.

“Seattle has one of the worst homeless problems of any major city in the United States,” The Washington Policy Center wrote. “Walk down virtually any street in the downtown core or in many neighborhood business districts, or stop at most parks in the metropolitan area and you will find people living in unconventional situations surrounded by trash, human waste, and needles.”

Republican Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers slammed Biden’s inability to address surging homelessness and drug issues in a letter obtained by The Center Square Thursday, asking the president to see how failed policies have ruined the city.

“If you do, you will see how homelessness has taken over with tent cities popping up everywhere, serving as ground zero for rampant drug abuse and violent crime; devastating community safety and the ability of small businesses to remain open,” McMorris wrote in The Center Square.

“Since you took office, violent crime has spiked across the country, including by 20% in Seattle and 10% in Spokane,” McMorris wrote. “Just last month, two Washington State law enforcement officers were shot and killed in the line of duty.”

Surging homeless camps throughout the city have caused parents and children to avoid parks where they once enjoyed various outdoor activities, Fox 13 Seattle reported. The parks are now littered with homeless tents bringing violence and drug use.

Meanwhile, city sidewalks have been fully converted to homeless camps with tents as the city looks for alternative places to house the homeless, KOMO News reported.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Biden’s border mess has brought on more than just a flood of illegal immigrants, there were also plenty of known or suspected terrorists apprehended on the southern border last year.

These are just the one’s that were caught. Last year there were 400,000 illegal crossers who were not apprehended.

In an interview with Bret Baier, former Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott says that since the beginning of the year, during the Biden administration, there have been AT LEAST 400,000 illegal border crossings categorized as “gotaways”. Meaning these individuals were seen crossing the border but were not caught or documented.

It’s impossible to know, but the likelihood of other terrorists sneaking in with this other group of nearly half a million is extremely high.

The Terrorist Screening Database (TSDB) contains information about the identities of those who are known or “reasonably suspected” of being involved in terrorist activities. Republicans lawmakers have repeatedly called for the number of those encountered at the border to be made public by the administration.

“Reporting indicates that multiple individuals with terrorist ties have been recently apprehended after illegally crossing the border, and that such encounters may be increasing,” Reps. James Comer and John Katko, who serve as ranking members on the Oversight and Homeland Security committees respectively, wrote to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas last month.

“The American people deserve to know whether President Biden’s weak border policies are allowing terrorists to enter our homeland,” they said.

There are definite terrorists coming into the United States, encouraged by a weak border, and the Biden Administration refuses to answer questions about it.

Former Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott has repeatedly sounded the alarm over the number of TSDBs coming across the border, telling fellow agents last year that it was “at a level we have never seen before.”

“We have terrorist threats we can’t get into in this type of a forum but they are real,” he told Fox News’ Bret Baier in October.

It’s worse than ever before according to the former border chief. And these are last year’s numbers. The numbers this year are even worse.

Fox News reported earlier this month that over 62,000 illegal immigrants evaded Border Patrol agents in March, averaging about 2,000 a day.

The numbers come as the Biden administration is yet again facing sky-high border numbers that are overwhelming agents and resources. According to a filing by CBP last week, agents encountered more than 212,000 migrants at the border in March, higher than any month last year.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Republican chief legal officers in more than a dozen states are urging President Joe Biden to reconsider his halting of the Keystone XL Pipeline and are criticizing the “hypocrisy” of the U.S. now potentially importing Canadian oil.

On his first day in office, Biden revoked the permit for a $9 billion pipeline designed to transport hundreds of thousands of oil barrels from Alberta, Canada, to the United States. Now, Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen is leading the charge to reinstate it.

“We warned you then if your decision was not reversed, Americans would ‘suffer serious detrimental consequences,’ consumers would pay higher prices, and our allies would become further dependent on Russian and Middle Eastern oil.”

Biden’s cancellation of the 1,200-mile pipeline reportedly killed thousands of jobs, and Republicans wrote to the administration in February demanding to know how many. Knudsen and 20 other Republican attorneys general filed a lawsuit last year against Biden alleging he exceeded his authority by nixing the pipeline.

The letter comes amid record-high gas prices and 40-year high inflation that has put a strain on American families. The Producer Price Index, an inflation measurement for wholesale producers, spiked 11.2% annually from March 2021 to March 2022. The Consumer Price Index, which tracks consumer inflation, reached its highest level in 41 years only a day before these numbers were released.

“We’re seeing 50 plus percent increases in the price of gasoline,” Knudsen stated. “I don’t care if you’re in Montana or if you’re in Virginia. Everybody bears that cost and that hurts. Fuel is what drives our economy and we have to be able to drive our vehicles. We have to be able to heat our homes.”

The Republicans say European countries are now “unable” to levy sanctions on Russia amid its invasion of Ukraine without risking an economic recession and blast the president for a potentially contradictory decision to now import oil from Canada. The letter notes that the pipeline would have provided the same oil.

TC Energy, the company overseeing the pipeline, filed a $15 billion trade claim against Biden last year seeking damages from the U.S. government. The formal request for arbitration was submitted under an alleged “breach” of the legacy North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

(RepublicanWire) – Democrats only like spending other people’s money. When it comes to spending their own money to help those in need, Democrats are not so generous. The Left claims they believe in helping the poor by creating massive tax-and-spend social entitlement programs. In reality, there is no nobility in spending other people’s money. Liberals want everyone to pay their “fair share” as long as it isn’t coming from their own wallets.

This hypocrisy is exposed by taking a look at the tax returns of Democrats. Tax returns reveal what someone truly values by seeing how they spend their money. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris recently released their 2021 tax returns, which shows they gave less to charity than the average taxpayer for their level of earnings.

Americans who are much poorer than Biden and Harris were more generous with their money. This shows how much Biden and Harris actually care about helping Americans in need, especially following the devastating economic impact of pandemic lockdowns.

Both couples are in high-income brackets. Joe and Jill Biden reported $610,702 in 2021 income, but only gave $17,394 to charity. This accounts for a whopping 2.8% of their income to charity. Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff reported $1,655,563in 2021 income, but only gave $22,100 to charity. This shockingly low amount is a mere 1.3% of their income.

According to 2016 data from the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center, the average charitable deduction is higher for those in the same tax brackets as Biden and Harris.

The average donation for those earning between $500,000 and $2 million is 3.1% of adjusted gross income. Filers earning between $100,000 and $500,000 donate 2.9%. Both Biden and Harris fall short of what most Americans are doing to help others in need.

On average, taxpayers making between $500,000 and $2,000,000 gave 3.1% of their income to charity, which would equal $51,322 on an income of $1,655,563.

Those earning under $50,000 who itemized charitable deductions handed out 8.4% of their AGI.

Biden’s charitable giving went to 10 different charities in 2021, with the largest gift — $5,000 — donated to the Beau Biden Foundation.

The $17,394 given to charity marks a decrease from 2020, when Biden was running for president. During that year, the Bidens gave $30,704 to charitable causes, which amounted to about 5% of their income.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.

“With this release, the President has shared a total of 24 years of tax returns with the American public, once again demonstrating his commitment to being transparent with the American people about the finances of the commander in chief,” the White House said in a statement Friday.

(RepublicanWire) – The US border is a total nightmare. Joe Biden is spending all his time worried about Ukraine’s border, the American people are wondering when will he visit ours? He’s made a mess of it but has never once visited.

Other countries are also showing concerns about Biden’s policies, when it comes to the border.

The President of El Salvador called out the border crisis caused by Biden. He responded to a tweet from Biden’s State Dept. spokesman Ned Price and humiliated Biden and his entire team.

Here’s what Ned Price said in his tweet: “The U.S. government continues to support El Salvador in its efforts to reduce the proliferation of gangs. We urge El Salvador to protect its citizens while also upholding civil liberties, including freedom of the press.”

Here’s what President Bukele said in response: “The U.S. government continues to support El Salvador to reduce the proliferation of gangs”. Really? Yes, we got support from the U.S. government to fight crime, but the was UNDER THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION. You are only supporting the gangs and their “civil liberties” now.”

President Nayib Bukele slammed Biden’s State Department when they tried to declare how much they’ve helped his country.

President Bukele fired back at Ned Price by telling him the only time his government received any “American help” to fight crime was under President Trump. He then said Joe Biden has sided with the gangsters.

It’s been a mess in El Salvador, crime is soaring there, too, just like in our liberal-run cities and it’s gotten so much worse for them since President Trump was removed from office.

Breitbart reported that El Salvador’s security forces arrested over 9,000 people over the past two weeks, using emergency powers granted by the legislature to control organized crime following a wave of gang killings. Critics of the crackdown claim many of the arrests were arbitrary and targeted impoverished young people. They also criticized the harsh conditions imposed on the detainees.

Bukele insisted the arrests were appropriate – describing the 9,000 taken into custody so far as merely a good start – and said the rough detentions were a necessary deterrent. He argued gang members are far too accustomed to skipping out of prison quickly, so they view arrest as a minor inconvenience.

“We have confiscated everything, even the sleeping mats. We are rationing food and they will no longer see the sun. Stop the killings now,” he said.

On Tuesday, Bukele said the total number of arrests was up to 10,094.

(RepublicanWire) – Three Republican-led states have filed a lawsuit against the Biden Administration to prevent the repeal of Title 42.

Title 42 was an order implemented by the Trump administration in March 2020, with bipartisan support, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been used to rapidly expel both lawful and unlawful migrants at the southern border due to health concerns without any immigration process.

Theresa Cardinal Brown, director of immigration and cross-border policy at the Bipartisan Policy Center, said unlawful migrants expelled under Title 42 face “no legal consequence.”

Brown said without Title 42, “There would be a consequence that would make it harder for them to come back legally under immigration law. So, by using Title 42, there was no consequence, and therefore what we saw was many immigrants, particularly Mexicans, who had been expelled back to Mexico, simply trying again,” ultimately fueling a significant increase in repeat border crossings.

The attorneys general of Arizona, Louisiana, and Missouri filed the lawsuit to block the Biden administration’s plan to end the order on May 23. They argue that repealing the ordinance would be unlawful and detrimental to the states. The lawsuit was filed in a U.S. District Court in Louisiana.

“This suit challenges an imminent, man-made, self-inflicted calamity: the abrupt elimination of the only safety valve preventing this administration’s disastrous border policies from devolving into an unmitigated catastrophe,” the complaint reads.

Attorney General Mark Brnovich of Arizona claimed that if Title 42 is repealed, half a million unlawful migrants will cross the southern border in one month.

“Literally, if the Biden administration rescinds this policy, it will result in more than half a million people it’s estimated to illegally cross our border in just one month. That’s like the entire population of Baltimore, Atlanta, Georgia,” Brnovich told Fox News on Monday morning.

“We want to stop the Biden administration from rescinding Title 42. Because it may be one of the most boneheaded decisions of this administration, and they have done a lot of dumb things,” he added.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) announced last week that it would be rescinding the ordinance effective May 23. In February, 55% of the approximately 164,000 lawful and unlawful migrants encountered at the southern border were expelled under Title 42. Overall, Title 42 has been used to remove lawful and unlawful migrants more than 1.7 million times since its implementation, according to the Migrant Policy Institute.

“After considering current public health conditions and an increased availability of tools to fight COVID-19 (such as highly effective vaccines and therapeutics), the CDC Director has determined that an Order suspending the right to introduce migrants into the United States is no longer necessary,” the CDC announced in a statement.

Supporters of repealing Title 42, like the National Immigration Law Center (NILC), argue that the order denies immigrants seeking asylum due process.

“For nearly two years, the Biden and Trump administrations have used the unlawful Title 42 expulsion policy to categorically deny tens of thousands of people their right to seek asylum and return them to dangerous conditions where they face kidnapping, torture, and persecution,” said the NILC in a March press release.

However, Republicans and some Democratic lawmakers disagree with repealing the ordinance, stating that it would result in an increase of people arriving at the southern border. The Biden Administration and the Department of Homeland Security have even conceded that repealing Title 42 will lead to an “influx” of lawful and unlawful migrants crossing the southern border.

DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Friday claimed that DHS has “put in place a comprehensive, whole-of-government strategy to manage any potential increase in the number of migrants encountered at our border.”

“We are increasing our capacity to process new arrivals, evaluate asylum requests, and quickly remove those who do not qualify for protection,” Mayorkas said in a statement. “We will increase personnel and resources as needed and have already redeployed more than 600 law enforcement officers to the border. We are referring smugglers and certain border crossers for criminal prosecution. Over the next two months, we are putting in place additional, appropriate COVID-19 protocols, including ramping up our vaccination program.”

U.S. Representatives Henry Cuellar and Vincente Gonzalez, both Texas Democrats, joined a dozen Republican lawmakers from their state in writing a letter to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra urging against repealing the order.

“We understand that this legal authority is temporary and tied to the COVID-19 public health emergency, but DHS appears unprepared to handle a likely unprecedented increase in apprehensions along the southwest border,” the Texans wrote in the letter.

U.S. Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Mark Kelly, both Democrats from Arizona, also wrote a letter expressing similar concerns and said they spoke with the DHS about not repealing Title 42 until there are other safeguards at the border.

“We spoke with the @DHSgov Secretary about the administration’s Title 42 contingency plans following our letter to the President urging him not to end Title 42 without a comprehensive plan to support border communities,” Sinema tweeted on March 30.

“While it’s difficult to identify President Biden’s most irresponsible move since taking office, rescinding Title 42 is certainly up there,” Brnovich said. “It’s a ridiculously poor decision with a bad intention for border states and American communities across the country. This administration’s reckless pandering to the far Left and complete abdication of its responsibility to public safety cannot be allowed to continue.”
