(RepublicanWire.org) – Gov. Gavin Newsom of California, who in recent years has burnished his profile as a future White House contender, told President Joe Biden on election night that he was not planning a 2024 primary challenge, according to Politico’s Jonathan Martin.

Newsom “told everyone in the White House” ranging “from the chief of staff to the first lady” about his intentions, he revealed to Martin — and was firmly behind the president’s expected reelection bid.

During a trip to Washington, DC this past summer, he wanted Ron Klain and Jill Biden to know that he was “all in” for the president’s plans for 2024.

“I’m all in, count me in,” Newsom told the pair, per his conversation with Martin.

“He not only beat Trump once, I think he can beat him again,” the governor said of Biden. “I hope he runs, I’ll enthusiastically support him.”

Newsom, who was easily reelected to a second term as governor this month after winning his 2018 gubernatorial election in a landslide and also defeating a 2021 recall election attempt, has emerged on the national scene as a staunch promoter of the Democratic Party’s values.

This year, Newsom has encouraged Democrats to go bold in their agenda and more effectively communicate with voters about their policies, notably abortion rights. And he has publicly tussled with Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida, who could potentially launch a 2024 presidential bid against former President Donald Trump.

But the high-profile nature of Newsom’s remarks led many to believe that he was plotting for a 2024 bid of his own, which frustrated him.

“It’s frustrating because I have so much reverence and respect for not only the president but the vice president is an old friend, for all of those interesting things you guys all love to write about, we’ve known each other for 25 years,” said Newsom, who also mentioned Vice President Kamala Harris, a former California state attorney general and US senator.

Newsom then said he wouldn’t run for president in 2024 even if Biden reverses course and opts out of a reelection bid, but the governor didn’t rule out a 2028 campaign, per the interview with Martin.

The California governor, one of the younger generation leaders within the Democratic Party, has not held back in critiquing the party, which is something that many progressives have been clamoring for — with many grassroots activists frustrated that the party’s leaders aren’t more frequently on the offensive against the GOP.

Newsom declared California “a true freedom state” while speaking with reporters, touting the Golden State compared to states that have passed a raft of abortion restrictions after Roe v. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court this past summer.

In the midterm elections, California voters overwhelmingly approved a ballot measure that amended the state constitution to guarantee reproductive freedom.

(RepublicanWire.org) – President Joe Biden has had a tough relationship with reporters since he became president and that has continued.

This weekend during his vacation in Nantucket for the Thanksgiving holiday he snapped at reporters when he was asked if he would take questions and he said “No!” Mediaite reported.

On Friday, the president spent time walking around Nantucket with First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, First Son Hunter Biden, First Grandson Beau Biden, and First Daughter Ashley Biden. The Bidens shopped and had a late lunch, then attended a tree-lighting ceremony — all while being trialed by members of the White House press.

At one point, Biden was asked if he’d come answer questions, and he drew laughs by responding with an immediate “No!”

But later in the day, he weighed in on the USA – England match, which ended in a scoreless draw.

“I’d rather it be one nothing but it’s good. England is tough,” the president said.

For many Americans, the rising inflation has made this Thanksgiving financially tough, to the effect of many people skipping the holiday. A survey by Personal Capital showed that many respondents believed they would not have enough cash for the holiday, while others said they would skip it, the report said.

In fact, it showed that a quarter of respondents said they would be skipping the holiday.

The survey showed that 57 percent of hosts planned to have fewer guests, 53 percent planned to make fewer dishes, 52 percent planned on asking guests to bring dishes, and 42 percent planned on asking people to pitch in financially.

Whether hosts plan to foot the bill or ask their guests to pitch in, most will need at least a rough budget to get all that food on the table. How much are Americans planning to spend this year, and have their budgets changed since 2021?

Despite inflation and job uncertainty, 52% of Americans said they plan on spending the same amount of money on this year’s Thanksgiving as they did last year. Only 33% expected to spend less this year, and 15% expected to spend more. Most Americans placed their Thanksgiving budget within $101-$200. Gen Xers were most likely to keep a tight budget of $100 or less (40%), and baby boomers were most likely to break the bank with a budget of $201 or more (20%).

But as many Americans are struggling, President Joe Biden and his family are spending the holiday at the $20 million home of billionaire David Rubenstein, a private equity tycoon in Nantucket, Massachusetts, the New York Post reported.

Joe Biden, his wife Jill, and other family members were set to fly to the upscale Massachusetts island on Air Force One later Tuesday and remain there until Sunday, the White House confirmed over the weekend. While there, the Bidens plan to stay at Rubenstein’s sprawling, $20 million waterfront home, the Nantucket Inquirer and Mirror reported. Biden indicated earlier this month that the upcoming holiday season would be a prime opportunity for him to discuss running for re-election in 2024.

“My intention is that I run again,” he said. “But I’m a great respecter of fate. And this is, ultimately, a family decision.  I think everybody wants me to run, but … we’re going to have discussions about it. Well, I — my guess is — I hope Jill and I get a little time to actually sneak away for a week … between Christmas and Thanksgiving. And my guess is it would be early next year we make that judgment.”

(RepublicanWire.org) – Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said that Republicans should focus on President Biden, not his son Hunter Biden, saying the president “is the Godfather.”

On the most recent episode of his podcast, “Verdict with Ted Cruz,” the Texas Republican said his party needs to turn its attention to President Biden in their investigations, and not focus on his embattled son.

“The focus needs to be on Joe Biden, this is not about Hunter Biden, any more than if you’re going after the mafia and you catch some low-level enforcer, or you’re going after a drug cartel and you catch some mule who swallowed balloons full of heroin,” Cruz said.

“It’s not about the poor schlub who got caught. It’s about the boss,” the senator continued.

“It’s about the big guy. It’s about the Godfather, Joe Biden is the Godfather. He is the one who ultimately is profiting on this corruption,” Cruz said. “He is the one who is abusing official authority to further the criminal activity of his family members. And that’s why this is an issue of public corruption.”

Cruz said the Department of Justice under Biden “desperately” wants “to keep this on,” pointing to the DOJ’s handling of Hunter’s “drug problem.”

“You know what, we wouldn’t be talking about it if it was just one deeply troubled soul,” Cruz continued. “The reason we should talk about it, and the reason why the corporate media and the Democrats desperately don’t want to talk about it, is there is now growing evidence of corruption from Joe Biden himself, when he was vice president of the United States.

“And now when he’s president of the United States, personally enriching himself enriching his family by selling official favors to enemies, hostile foreign governments — that is an issue of highest importance,” he asserted.

Cruz’s comments come as Republicans are geared up to take control of the House in January, with the GOP leadership promising to launch several investigations, including into the Bidens.

The White House is already playing defense against the GOP investigations, with the administration claiming Republicans were pushing “long-debunked conspiracy theories” in their allegations of Biden having a hand in his son’s overseas business dealings.

“Instead of working with President Biden to address issues important to the American people, like lower costs, congressional Republicans’ top priority is to go after President Biden with politically motivated attacks chock full of long-debunked conspiracy theories,” Ian Sams, spokesperson for the White House Counsel’s office, said last week.

“President Biden is not going to let these political attacks distract him from focusing on Americans’ priorities, and we hope congressional Republicans will join us in tackling them instead of wasting time and resources on political revenge,” Sams added.

(RepublicanWire.org) – President Biden’s regular trips to his home state of Delaware have cost taxpayers at least $11 million since the start of his presidency.

Biden has made 56 trips to Delaware, spanning all or part of 177 days, according to data from former CBS correspondent Mark Knoller in October. Biden now has 57 trips to Delaware and 185 days.

The trips require taxpayer dollars to fund costs associated with the use of either Air Force One or Marine One, as well as security costs for the Secret Service. The president spends time in Delaware at his homes in Wilmington and Rehoboth Beach.

Public documents from the Department of Defense comptroller show that the Marine One helicopters used by the president cost between $17,065 and $20,206 per hour.

The helicopter trip between the White House and locations in Delaware takes roughly an hour, according to the president’s schedule.

Air Force One’s operational costs are $177,843 per hour, and the trip to Delaware takes roughly 30 minutes, according to the president’s schedule.

This puts the total operational costs for the trips, including each method of transportation, at about $4 million.

Documents obtained by the New York Post last year showed a Secret Service cost of $1.96 million on the president’s first 16 trips to Delaware.

A per-trip cost from these data applied to the president’s now 57 trips leaves an approximate $7 million tab for taxpayers.

The $11 million receipt for Biden’s Delaware trips is probably a significant underestimate since it does not tally many other miscellaneous costs.

These include spending for additional helicopters that travel along with him, travel to or from military airports before or after an Air Force One flight, and accommodations for staff who accompany him.

The president has other, quite comfortable options for the weekend. The White House itself is one of the nation’s most beautiful mansions. Additionally, the president can also avail himself of the country retreat at Camp David, which is only a half-hour chopper ride away. He has been there 19 times as president, far less often than he goes to Delaware.

But as president, Biden’s predilection for spending as much time in Delaware as possible is costing taxpayers well more than $200,000 roundtrip.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Despite Democrats’ stronger-than-expected showing in the midterm elections, President Joe Biden is not confident he will be able to check off another part of his agenda.

While taking reporters’ questions in Indonesia Monday, Biden was asked by NBC News’ Peter Alexander, “What can Americans expect from Congress as it relates to abortion rights after the midterms?”

“I don’t think they can expect much of anything other than we’re going to maintain our positions. I’m not gonna get into more questions. I shouldn’t even answer your question,” Biden responded.

He went on to explain, “I don’t think there’s enough votes to codify [Roe v. Wade] unless something happens unusual in the House. I think we’re going to get very close in the House, but I don’t think we’re going to make it.”

In October, the president shared that his first legislative priority, if Democrats expanded their majorities, would be protecting abortion access.

“The court got Roe right nearly 50 years ago,” Biden declared. “And I believe Congress should codify Roe once and for all.”

He went on, “Right now, we’re short a handful of votes. If you care about the right to choose, then you’ve got to vote. That’s why in these midterm elections, it’s so critical to elect more Democratic senators to the United States Senate and more Democrats to keep control of the House of Representatives.”

“The first bill that I will send to the Congress will be to codify Roe v. Wade. And when Congress passes it, I’ll sign it in January — 50 years after Roe was first decided the law of the land,” he added.

Biden’s comments were met with celebration from pro-life advocates, who have worked in states around the country to pass new legislation in response to the Supreme Court’s June ruling.

The “codify Roe” bill actually would go much further than the 1973 ruling. Nicknamed the Abortion Without Limits Up to Birth Act, it would force states to legalize abortions for basically any reason up to birth and force taxpayers to pay for them. The bill, which Democrats named the Women’s Health Protection Act, also would end parental consent for minors and jeopardize conscience protections for doctors and nurses who refuse to abort unborn babies.

Polls consistently show that Americans support limits on abortion, including parental consent and bans on taxpayer funding for elective abortions.

A 2022 Marist poll found that just 36 percent of Americans believe abortions should be legal without any restrictions. Additionally, 73 percent oppose using tax dollars to fund abortions.

Similarly, a 2021 Associated Press poll found that 65 percent believe second-trimester abortions should be illegal and 80 percent believe they should be illegal in the third trimester.

In October, U.S. Catholic bishops condemned Biden’s “single-minded extremism” on abortion after he named the radical pro-abortion bill as his top priority for 2023. One archbishop described the legislation as “child sacrifice,” saying it’s what “one would expect from a devout Satanist, not a devout Catholic.”

(RepublicanWire.org) – It is now 21 months into Joe Biden’s dumpster-fire presidency, and he continues his unbroken streak of committing cringeworthy blunders that call into question his mental fitness.

During a news conference at the White House on Wednesday, Biden defensively bristled while trying to dunk on a reporter who asked a question about Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“You’ve seen the threats from President Putin about the use of his nuclear forces,” the reporter said.

A thin-skinned Biden interrupted the correspondent midsentence and suggested he was correct in escalating his fearmongering in response to speculation over whether Putin would resort to nuclear weapons.

In October, the 79-year-old career politician came under fire after suggesting the world is on the cusp of a nuclear Armageddon.

“Remember how you all went after him when I said that was real?” Biden said.

“I just — I just found it interesting that, ‘Biden is being apopa — acop — apoc — acopa — Biden is being extremist,’” he stammered while wincing visibly over his word salad.

It appears Biden was trying to say his critics had wrongfully accused him of being “apocalyptic.” Or maybe “apoplectic.” Who knows?

The GOP-affiliated Twitter account RNC Research asked: “What just happened?”

The bizarre sputtering ignited backlash on Twitter.

Ultimately, this endangers the national security of both the United States and the rest of the world.

At another point during the news conference, Biden affirmed that he plans to run for re-election in 2024 despite his tanking poll numbers.

The president underscored that “our intention is to run again. That’s been our intention, regardless of what the outcome of this election was … my intention is that I run again.”

He then raised eyebrows by saying he’ll do whatever it takes to prevent Donald Trump from winning the White House if the former president runs for re-election.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Sen. Joe Manchin Saturday demanded President Biden apologize for saying coal plants “all across America” will be shut down, in a scathing rebuke days before the midterm elections.

Manchin said: “President Biden’s comments are not only outrageous and divorced from reality, they ignore the severe economic pain the American people are feeling because of rising energy costs.

“Comments like these are the reason the American people are losing trust in President Biden and instead believes he does not understand the need to have an all in energy policy that would keep our nation totally energy independent and secure.

“It seems his positions change depending on the audience and the politics of the day.

“Politicizing our nation’s energy policies would only bring higher prices and more pain for the American people.

“Let me be clear, this is something the President has never said to me.

“Being cavalier about the loss of coal jobs for men and women in West Virginia and across the country who literally put their lives on the line to help build and power this country is offensive and disgusting.

“The President owes these incredible workers an immediate and public apology and it is time he learn a lesson that his words matter and have consequences,” Manchin said.

Biden said:

“No one is building new coal plants because they can’t rely on it.

“Even if they have all the coal guaranteed for the rest of the existence of the plant.

“So it’s going to become a wind generation.

“And all they’re doing is it’s going to save them a hell of a lot of money and using the same transmission line that they transmitted the coal-fired electric on, we’re going to be shutting these plants down all across America and having wind and solar power.”

(RepublicanWire.org) – President Biden claimed on Tuesday that he spoke to the man who “invented” insulin, there is just one problem, the doctor died before Biden was born.

The president’s comments came during an event in Hallandale Beach, Florida, during which he touted his administration’s efforts to lower healthcare costs for Americans.

“How many of you know somebody with diabetes, and needs insulin,” Biden asked the crowd.

“Do you know how much it costs to make that insulin drug for diabetes? … It was invented by a man who did not patent it because he wanted it available for everyone. I spoke to him, OK?” Biden claimed.

Dr. Frederick Banting, who was one of the doctors who discovered insulin in 1921 — refused to put his name on the patent — passed away in February of 1941. Joe Biden was not even born until November of 1942 — some 21 months later.

Banting received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for 1923 following his discovery. His assistant, Dr. Charles Best, was a medical student at the time and assisted with the discovery. He did put his name on the patent, along with Dr. James Bertram Collip, who helped refine it, but the two sold the patent to the University of Toronto for $1.

All three believed that it would not be ethical for them to take profits from something that could potentially save thousands or even millions of lives.

Physiologist John MacLeod, who also chose not to be named on the patent, played a role in the discovery, but had passed away in 1935. While both Drs. Collip and Best were still living after Biden was born, he ruled them out as the ones he spoke to because they did ultimately put their names on the patent.

Biden also misspoke about the ongoing “war in Iraq” and also claimed it was where his son died.

“Inflation is a worldwide problem right now because of a war in Iraq and the impact on oil and what Russia’s doing, excuse me, the war in Ukraine,” Biden said.

“I’m thinking of Iraq because that’s where my son died,” he added, as an excuse for the verbal slip.

Biden spent most of his speech expressing anger toward Republicans and concluded his speech with a final dig at his political opponents.

“God bless you all. God protect our troops and God give our Republican friends some enlightenment,” he said.

(RepublicanWire.org) – During a speech on Friday evening at the “Pennsylvania Democratic Party Reception,” Biden touted his party’s success in protecting the Affordable Care Act from being dismantled during former President Donald Trump’s term.

Trump had campaigned on replacing Obamacare, though as Biden claimed Friday, Democrats campaigned hard in 2018 to prevent that from happening. In his speech, he warned that the GOP will go after their health care if they gain the congressional majority.

Two-thirds of the way through his address, Biden said, “And, of course, they’re going try for their 499th time, or whatever the number is — they’re still determined to eliminate the Affordable Care Act. And, by the way, if they do, that means — not a joke, everybody.”

Then he made his latest viral statement. “Not a joke, everybody!” Biden said with slurred speech. “That’s why we defeated it in 2018 when they tried to do it we went to 54 states.”

Conservative critics concerned with the president getting the number of states wrong, took to twitter to mock him.

Kamala Harris joined Biden Friday evening, and the joint appearance was super awkward. Kamala had to keep old Joe from falling off the stage.

Joe Biden’s mental decline continues to worsen with each passing day.

Many Americans speculate that Biden, who is the oldest president in U.S. history, is suffering from age-related dementia. He turns 80 next month.

Dr. Ronny Jackson, who served as the former White House physician under both Presidents Obama and Trump, told Fox News that he believes Biden will be forced to resign or face the 25th Amendment over issues related to his fitness for office.

“Something’s SERIOUSLY wrong with Biden,” Jackson wrote on social media. “And it’s only going to get WORSE! It’s past the point of embarrassment.”

Jackson continued, “He’s lost. He’s confused. He can barely put a coherent sentence together. He MUST have a cognitive exam and release the results!” Jackson added.

(RepublicanWire.org) – President Biden was ridiculed for an announcement about his administration’s plan to combat “junk fees” which included addressing charges for extra legroom on airplanes, something he suggested is racist.

Biden’s remarks came during a speech at the White House briefing room Wednesday regarding efforts to protect American consumers.

His plan involves an expressed commitment to addressing hidden fees charged by banks, credit cards, etc., with promises to ‘work on rules’ and ‘making clear’ that the fees are illegal.

Though he provided little evidence of concrete steps to address the problem, Biden vowed the administration’s moves would be “saving Americans, collectively, billions of dollars in unfair fees.”

One portion of his speech caught the eye of viewers, however – The President’s bold actions against airlines for charging hidden fees for extra legroom on their airplanes.

Part of President Biden’s plan to rescue the American people from “junk fees” is to address fees for extra legroom on airplanes.

Not to eliminate such fees, but rather, to make sure airlines explain exactly what they’re charging for.

“I’m not saying they can’t charge it, but they got to let you know they’re going to charge it,” the President explained. “You can make a decision.”

“Some airlines, if you want six more inches between you and the seat in front, you pay more money. But you don’t know it until you purchase your ticket.”

That’s when things got a little crazy, with Biden explaining that legroom fees have a racial component.

“Look, folks, these are junk fees,” he said. “They’re unfair, and they hit marginalized Americans the hardest, especially low-income folks and people of color.”

It is an odd statement. Prior to this, one would assume that extra legroom fees would disproportionately affect people who are tall, not those of a particular skin color.

We thank President Biden for pointing out our obvious ignorance.

Meanwhile, social media users took to Twitter to roundly criticize the President’s comments.

One user referenced an old quote in which Biden declared “poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids.”

Others noted the absurdity in assuming mostly “people of color” are the ones easily duped by airplane legroom fees.

“It’s literally written that those seats cost more,” explained political commentator Chris Loesch.

“Is Biden claiming that black people don’t understand this? How are they ‘junk fees’? Do the airlines not tell black people those seats cost more? Huh?”

Glenn Jacobs, former wrestling superstar and current mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, sarcastically pointed out that legroom fees are discriminatory towards “oversized people such as myself.”

The Daily Wire’s Frank Fleming noted that extra legroom fees for airline flights might not resonate with Americans just trying to fill up their gas tanks and buy groceries.

“Things are looking bad for Democrats, but will the message of ‘airlines charging extra for more legroom hurts minorities’ turn things around?” he wondered.
