(RepublicanWire.org) – The mother of Ashli Babbitt, the Trump supporting woman who was murdered on January 6th, 2021, was arrested on Friday at the U.S. Capitol for jaywalking.

Two years ago today, Babbitt was shot and killed by Capitol police after she walked into the Capitol building. Babbitt was attempting to get through a door when a Capitol Police officer shot her in the neck. She later died at the hospital.

On Friday, Babbitt’s mother Micki went to D.C. to protest her daughters death as she continues to look for answers.

Micki was seen being handcuffed and taken into custody by multiple police officers while onlookers protested.

“You murdered [Ashli] inside the Capitol, now you’re going to arrest her?” one onlooker said.

“I did not murder her daughter,” one officer replied in front of the crowd of people.

On Jan. 6, 2021, Babbitt, an unarmed Air Force veteran, was fatally shot by Lt. Michael Byrd. while attempting to make entry into the interior of the Capitol Building.

As reported by Kyle Mazza of UNF News, the grieving mother was protesting with a group outside of the Capitol, holding signs with messages reading “JESUS IS LORD,” as well as ones displaying the faces of Babbitt and Kevin Greeson, who also died during the Jan. 6 protests.

Though Greeson’s wife said that he had high blood pressure and suffered a heart attack, the group of protestors maintain that he was a murder victim.

“MURDERED BY CAPITOL POLICE” could be read on the signs, below the faces of Babbitt and Greeson.

Micki, was later released, and is due back in court on January 26th.

After half-a-year of Democrats protecting the identity of the police officer who murdered veteran Ashli Babbitt at the January 6 Capitol protest, we now know his identity — and can assess the level of competence he brings to the job.

Reports are circulating that the cop who shot the unarmed, peaceful protester in cold blood is the very same officer who made headlines for leaving his loaded gun inside a public restroom at the Capitol in 2019:

A U.S. Capitol Police lieutenant left his service weapon in a bathroom Monday night and the unattended gun was discovered later by another Capitol Police officer.

After the House adjourned on Monday, Lt. Mike Byrd left his Glock 22 in a bathroom in the Capitol Visitor Center complex, according to sources familiar with the incident. Byrd is the commander of the House Chambers section of the Capitol Police and was on the job Tuesday and Wednesday.

This is grossly irresponsible. It’s a mystery how Mr. Byrd is still employed or why he was allowed to continue to work in a building where he put lives at risk by irresponsibly providing a weapon to anyone who wanted to hurt someone. Fortunately, the weapon was discovered and no one was hurt. But Ashli Babbit was hurt when Byrd opened fire on the crowd, killing her.

“Let me ask you, there are reports online, that’s incredible I don’t know if they’re true, that the Capitol Hill police officer who shot Ashli Babbitt, I’m not going to mention the name, was the same officer that left his loaded handgun in a public men’s room on the Capitol,” Tucker Carlson asked guest Terrell Roberts, who is representing the family of Ashli Babbitt.  “Do you believe that is the officer, it seems like a very reckless person, who shot and killed Ashli Babbitt on January 6th?”

“That’s my belief,” Roberts replied.  “That’s my belief.” Watch the segment below:

Liberals claim that police are never held responsible when they kill a black man. Circumstances don’t typically matter. Whether the person had a weapon, attacked police, fled, or whatever the circumstances, the Left and the media demand that police be imprisoned. But what about when they murder an unarmed woman peacefully protesting — a woman like Ashli Babbitt, who was gunned down by an overzealous cop on January 6.

Babbitt had nothing on her but a bag containing a scarf and sweater. But if you ask the cop who shot her, that bag was filled with explosives she intended to use to blow up Congresspeople or something. It was this justification — not borne of facts, but of leftist rumors and paranoia — that caused the unnamed officer to murder Babbitt, he says. But we’ll never know his name and he will never stand trial. The Biden administration has closed the investigation.

Babbitt, an Air Force veteran who served our country with honor, deserves better than she got. She should be alive — and her murderer should definitely stand trial. But Biden’s DOJ says this isn’t the case:

“…the investigation revealed no evidence to establish that, at the time the officer fired a single shot at Ms. Babbitt, the officer did not reasonably believe that it was necessary to do so in self-defense or in defense of the Members of Congress and others evacuating the House Chamber. Acknowledging the tragic loss of life and offering condolences to Ms. Babbitt’s family, the U.S. Attorney’s Office and U.S. Department of Justice have therefore closed the investigation into this matter.”

If Biden was black or even a liberal, there would have been a proper investigation. Antifa and BLM would be burning down cities. There would have been a trial. We’d know the officer’s name. But she was a conservative, one who loved God and her country enough to place her life on the line to protect America. And now we will never see justice.

The still-anonymous D.C. police officer who opened fire on and murdered Ashli Babbitt at the incident at the Capitol on January 6 has some ‘splaining to do. Not only was Babbitt unarmed when she was gunned down by the officer, but his justification for using lethal force against someone who committed, at most, the crime of trespassing is falling apart.

The Gateway Pundit reports that part of the officer’s justification for using lethal force was that he had heard alleged reports “that pipe bombs had been found” in the area and he worried that Babbitt was carrying explosives. He had no evidence of this but, according to the report, “Babbitt was wearing a backpack, which allegedly compounded his fears.”

So, to recap: He was worried about his own speculation based on unsubstantiated reports and, feeling he was in danger, chose not to retreat and call for backup. Instead, he gunned down an unarmed woman despite an ability to easily call in help — all because she was wearing a backpack. In addition, a tactical team was already on its way up the stairwell behind Babbitt.

What was in this backpack? What is so deadly? The officer’s wild imagination gave him, in his own opinion, license to execute her. So, it must have been bad, right?

It was a wool sweater and a scarf of mass destruction — two items people typically carry in cold.

We The People deserve to know the name of this officer. He must be charged, tried, and found guilty. Babbitt, who served our country with honor, did nothing to threaten anyone. She was not a danger. She was peacefully demanding election integrity. The office is currently in hiding, but Ashli is dead. Dead because he got trigger happy. Americans, and her family, deserve justice.
