(RepublicanWire.org) – Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) could be gearing up for a 2024 Presidential bid.

Rubio finished third in the GOP’s Presidential primary in 2016, behind former President Donald Trump and Senator Ted Cruz (Texas).

All the signs point to a possible 2024 bid as Rubio prepares to release his third book, “Decades of Decadence,” on June 13, 2023.

In 2015, months before announcing his intention to seek the Presidency, Rubio released his first book “American Dreams.”

The timing of his third book — the second released in 2021 outside election season — points to jockeying for the GOP primary.

Despite the confirmation of the 272-page book’s release date and publisher (Broadside Books — a division of Harper Collins), nothing exists about the contents of the book.

However, a 2023 book release comes as little exists in the way of Rubio being considered a contender in the 2024 GOP Presidential primaries.

Among the list of possible contenders — Nikki Haley, former Vice President Mike Pence, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, among others — Rubio’s name hasn’t featured.

According to reporting by The Hill, citing two “GOP operatives,” Rubio will likely avail himself for a Presidential race if the opportunity for a bid opened up.

However, another operative noted that Rubio would have lost plenty of the voter base he had in 2016.

The operative pointed to two of Rubio’s surrogates in 2016 — Haley and another potential 2024 contender Senator Tim Scott (S.C.) — fielding Presidential bids of their own.

But the operative pointed to Rubio’s record of wins, being a “great communicator and a very skilled candidate” as reasons Rubio could be viable.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Gov. Gavin Newsom of California, who in recent years has burnished his profile as a future White House contender, told President Joe Biden on election night that he was not planning a 2024 primary challenge, according to Politico’s Jonathan Martin.

Newsom “told everyone in the White House” ranging “from the chief of staff to the first lady” about his intentions, he revealed to Martin — and was firmly behind the president’s expected reelection bid.

During a trip to Washington, DC this past summer, he wanted Ron Klain and Jill Biden to know that he was “all in” for the president’s plans for 2024.

“I’m all in, count me in,” Newsom told the pair, per his conversation with Martin.

“He not only beat Trump once, I think he can beat him again,” the governor said of Biden. “I hope he runs, I’ll enthusiastically support him.”

Newsom, who was easily reelected to a second term as governor this month after winning his 2018 gubernatorial election in a landslide and also defeating a 2021 recall election attempt, has emerged on the national scene as a staunch promoter of the Democratic Party’s values.

This year, Newsom has encouraged Democrats to go bold in their agenda and more effectively communicate with voters about their policies, notably abortion rights. And he has publicly tussled with Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida, who could potentially launch a 2024 presidential bid against former President Donald Trump.

But the high-profile nature of Newsom’s remarks led many to believe that he was plotting for a 2024 bid of his own, which frustrated him.

“It’s frustrating because I have so much reverence and respect for not only the president but the vice president is an old friend, for all of those interesting things you guys all love to write about, we’ve known each other for 25 years,” said Newsom, who also mentioned Vice President Kamala Harris, a former California state attorney general and US senator.

Newsom then said he wouldn’t run for president in 2024 even if Biden reverses course and opts out of a reelection bid, but the governor didn’t rule out a 2028 campaign, per the interview with Martin.

The California governor, one of the younger generation leaders within the Democratic Party, has not held back in critiquing the party, which is something that many progressives have been clamoring for — with many grassroots activists frustrated that the party’s leaders aren’t more frequently on the offensive against the GOP.

Newsom declared California “a true freedom state” while speaking with reporters, touting the Golden State compared to states that have passed a raft of abortion restrictions after Roe v. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court this past summer.

In the midterm elections, California voters overwhelmingly approved a ballot measure that amended the state constitution to guarantee reproductive freedom.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Former President Donald Trump’s eldest daughter, Ivanka, sent shockwaves through the political realm Tuesday by releasing a statement announcing that she will not be participating in her father’s second bid for the presidency.

“I love my father very much. This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics,” she said in a statement released around 10:00 pm.

“While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena. I am grateful to have had the honor of serving the American people and I will always be proud of many of our Administration’s accomplishments,” she added.

The statement was released shortly after her father announced his candidacy for office. Ivanka reportedly didn’t attend the announcement rally, but her husband, former senior Trump administration advisor Jared Kushner, did.

Ivanka’s decision comes despite a concerted effort by her father to convince her to participate in his campaign just as she’d done so six years earlier.

“Trump spent part of daughter Tiffany’s lavish Mar-a-Lago wedding this past weekend trying to convince his much-loved elder daughter, Ivanka, and son-in-law Jared Kushner to be with him on stage when he announces his third consecutive run for the presidency at the Palm Beach resort Tuesday night,” the New York Post reported Monday, citing insider sources.

“Trump thought he could convince Ivanka this weekend to come back and campaign for him as she was the most requested speaker after the president himself last time around … but so far she’s resisting his entreaties and holding firm, as is Jared,” one of the sources said.

“They both feel they got burned in Washington and don’t want to go back and expose themselves and their children to another bitter campaign,” the source added.

It’s not entirely clear why Kushner wound up showing up anyway, though this reportedly doesn’t mean he’s changed his mind and will be participating in his father-in-law’s reelection campaign.

Neither are Eric Trump and his wife, Lara Trump, nor the president’s wife, Melania, expected to hold any significant roles in the administration, despite all three being in attendance at Tuesday’s rally.

(RepublicanWire.org) – It is now 21 months into Joe Biden’s dumpster-fire presidency, and he continues his unbroken streak of committing cringeworthy blunders that call into question his mental fitness.

During a news conference at the White House on Wednesday, Biden defensively bristled while trying to dunk on a reporter who asked a question about Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“You’ve seen the threats from President Putin about the use of his nuclear forces,” the reporter said.

A thin-skinned Biden interrupted the correspondent midsentence and suggested he was correct in escalating his fearmongering in response to speculation over whether Putin would resort to nuclear weapons.

In October, the 79-year-old career politician came under fire after suggesting the world is on the cusp of a nuclear Armageddon.

“Remember how you all went after him when I said that was real?” Biden said.

“I just — I just found it interesting that, ‘Biden is being apopa — acop — apoc — acopa — Biden is being extremist,’” he stammered while wincing visibly over his word salad.

It appears Biden was trying to say his critics had wrongfully accused him of being “apocalyptic.” Or maybe “apoplectic.” Who knows?

The GOP-affiliated Twitter account RNC Research asked: “What just happened?”

The bizarre sputtering ignited backlash on Twitter.

Ultimately, this endangers the national security of both the United States and the rest of the world.

At another point during the news conference, Biden affirmed that he plans to run for re-election in 2024 despite his tanking poll numbers.

The president underscored that “our intention is to run again. That’s been our intention, regardless of what the outcome of this election was … my intention is that I run again.”

He then raised eyebrows by saying he’ll do whatever it takes to prevent Donald Trump from winning the White House if the former president runs for re-election.

(RepublicanWire.org) – MSNBC host Katy Tur speculated on Wednesday that Pennsylvania Senator-Elect John Fetterman could run for the presidency someday.

Fetterman’s victory against Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz provided Democrats a flipped Senate seat on Tuesday, in which several MSNBC panelists praised him for bringing new leadership tactics to the Democratic Party.

Tur floated the viability of, “Fetterman, as a nominee at some point for president,” before later going on to say that his record for surpassing President Biden and former President Trump’s vote share in the state.

MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell declared that she had extensive experience with Pennsylvania, and praised Fetterman for making so much progress with voters.

“I spent a lot of time covering this race, and with Pennsylvania politics, going back some decades, and I started my career there, but the fact that John Fetterman did, first of all, so much better with White non-college-educated voters. Better than Biden, better than Trump, so he ran ahead of both of them, but he also, you know, did fairly well in the cities and in the unintelligible counties.”

She attributed multiple reasons for Fetterman’s victory, including merely being more palatable to many voters than his Republican opposition.

“I attribute that partly due to the extremism at the top of the ticket in Pennsylvania,” she said. “With Mastriano, Dr. Oz’s comments on abortion, which part of that debate that perhaps did not get as much attention, it got attention from the professionals, but not from a lot of the media, because that really was as big of a deal coming out of that debate as Fetterman’s performance.”

Fetterman was criticized in the final days of the campaign for his lack of transparency over his recovery from a stroke, inconsistent answers on issues like fracking and a widely panned debate performance last month.

Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki praised Fetterman for appealing to voters through authenticity.

“I also think he ran everywhere in the state, which is a lesson for Democrats. He left no stone unturned. And he ran as exactly who he is. I mean I have no doubt that if John Fetterman were sitting here, if he were in a bar or if he was with his family in a restaurant, he would be exactly the same person,” she said. “And voters completely see through that. So that is also a lesson for Democrats, too. This is a guy you know who he is, you know what you’re getting, and that ultimately matters in politics.”

Tur went one step above praising his performance as a candidate for Senate, suggesting he could aim for the presidency but acknowledged there are “some variables.”

“I know there’s some variables, obviously, but I just, you know, what he did in the super-red, deep-red parts of Pennsylvania and the way that he ran ahead of Biden, ran ahead of Trump, and it makes you wonder about his future,” she said.

Fetterman, the 6-foot, 8-inch lieutenant governor and former mayor of tiny Braddock, Pennsylvania, eked out a narrow win over Oz despite a shocking performance in their only debate. Fetterman began the October 26 by telling viewers, “Goodnight, everybody,” and then proceeded to give a number of head-scratching answers that invited both pity and ridicule.

At one point, he was confronted with his past conflicting statements on fracking.

“I do support fracking — I don’t, I don’t — I support fracking, and I stand — and I do support fracking,” he stammered.

Speeches on the campaign trail have also included incomprehensible soundbites as Fetterman continues to rely on a closed captioning system to field and respond to questions.

“I think that anyone who ever plays football in high school was, you know, at kind of a trade out kind of football camp and there wasn’t any interest I have come play here,” he told a rally just prior to Election Day.

But Fetterman, who campaigned as a blue-collar everyman, typically donning baggy shorts and a hoodie on the trail, was an inspiration to many liberals, including Tur, for his effort to overcome the stroke, which occurred just days before he won the Keystone State’s Democratic primary.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz sounded the alarm about President Joe Biden’s nominee to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), as the Senate Commerce Committee voted on a party-line basis to move the nominee to a full vote in the U.S. Senate.

Speaking before the Committee after the vote, Cruz warned that Gigi Sohn, Biden’s pick to become FCC Commissioner, has a history of advocating for censorship of conservatives, and it would be dangerous to put her in charge of the FCC.

“[I have] significant substantive concerns with this nominee,” Cruz said.

He referenced a letter from former North Dakota Senator Heidi Heitkamp, who took issue with Sohn’s previous comments advocating against expanding broadband access for rural Americans in favor of constructing government-run networks in urban areas, a process known as “overbuilding.” Cruz called the letter “interesting,” and said he hoped Democrats in the Senate would take Heitkamp’s warnings to heart.

“My principal concern with Ms. Sohn is that she has expressed a significant willingness to use government power against political enemies, and to use government power as a tool of censorship. And I think the FCC is a particularly dangerous place for a partisan who is willing to try to muzzle those with whom she disagrees.” Sohn has a history of attacks against Fox News, and posted tweets appearing to call for the censorship of both Fox News and Sinclair Media. She was asked about these and other controversial tweets during her confirmation hearing but claimed they would not impact her behavior as a policymaker.

I am extremely concerned about Gigi Sohn’s nomination for FCC Commissioner.

The FCC is a particularly dangerous place for a partisan who is willing to try to muzzle those with whom she disagrees.

Sohn has publicly shown her disdain for conservatives and conservative media.

— Senator Ted Cruz (@SenTedCruz) March 3, 2022

“There was a time when there were Democrats willing to speak out in defense of free speech,” Cruz continued. “That time seems to have passed. I think that is unfortunate. I hope that at least some in the Democratic caucus continue to value free speech and don’t want to see government power abused, don’t want to see, in a subsequent Republican administration, a Republican on the FCC silencing Democrat voices. That would be equally inappropriate. It’s not the role of government to silence voices with which they disagree, and for those of us who have served some time in this body, we’ve all learned and seen firsthand, the shoe is on the other foot, and one party may have a majority at one point, one party may have the White House at one point, but with the progression of time, the positions are changed.”

In addition to those concerns, Cruz also made known a significant ethical question about Sohn.

Cruz pointed out that Sohn joined the board of now-defunct online television streaming service Locast in March of 2020, almost a year after the service was sued for copyright infringement. Cruz said that Sohn knew this when she joined the board, and issued a statement in support of Locast at the time the suit was filed. A federal judge ruled against Locast and against the broadcasters it had infringed upon, and a $32 million settlement was made for damages. But a secret settlement was made that lowered the amount from $32 million to just $700,000. The timing was especially suspicious, Cruz argued, as President Joe Biden announced his intent to nominate Sohn to the FCC on October 26, 2021, the secret settlement was filed on October 27, and Sohn’s nomination was formally submitted on October 28th.

There are deeply troubling substantive and ethical concerns about Gigi Sohn’s nomination for FCC Commissioner.

— Senator Ted Cruz (@SenTedCruz) March 3, 2022

The Senate Commerce Committee reported a tie vote to the Senate on Sohn’s nomination, putting her confirmation up for a vote before the full Senate with extra procedural hurdles. Committee Republicans issued a statement on Twitter Thursday cautioning Democrats against moving the confirmation to the full Senate. “To be clear: today’s vote does not advance Gigi Sohn to the Senate floor,” Ranking Member Roger Wicker (R-MS) said, via Twitter. “With her nomination failing to garner support from a majority of committee members, Democrat leadership will now have to decide if they want to take the extraordinary step of circumventing this committee and bringing such a polarizing nominee to the Senate floor for a vote.”

(RepublicanWire.org) – California has been a liberal state for a long time. Even when the governor was a Republican, the legislature was still largely left-leaning. Now Democrats are losing some support in their most reliable state, leaving an opportunity open for the GOP.

A recent decision to oust three school board members in San Francisco shows how the leftist city is turning against ultra-progressives. The board members lost their positions after spending millions of dollars renaming schools (including one named after President Abraham Lincoln), keeping the schools closed for more than a year and making other poor decisions. More than 70% of voters supported the removal of the members.

After the vote, some politicians wondered if the left was losing its grip on the city. The radical ideologies of the school board members were actively hurting children. In one case, the board members voted to stop accepting kids in the best academic programs in the city based on merits. It was the worst of the left’s policies and showed America what it would be like if those people were in charge everywhere. Even Democrat voters couldn’t handle it.

Antonio Amador, a Latino California voter, told Newsmax many of the people who rose up against the school system were groups like Hispanics and Asians that traditionally voted for Democrats. However, he believes they’re now coming to realize their values align more with the Republican Party “and Democrats are panicking because of that,” he said.

If Republicans build on the momentum, they might be able to pull California out of the grips of the Democratic Party eventually.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Although the White House transition from Donald Trump to Joe Biden in January 2021 didn’t exactly follow tradition, there was a bit of a passing of the torch from the 45th to the 46th president.

Trump left a letter for Biden, and during an interview on Friday, White House press secretary Jen Psaki shared some details about it from behind the scenes.

According to Psaki, she was the one who first informed Biden he had been left a letter from his predecessor.

“On my first day before I did my first briefing, I was in the Oval Office talking with him about the briefing and anything he wanted me to convey or what I expected or whatever. And I said, ‘You know, I think you’re going to be asked about the letter that the former president left you,’ and he said, ‘Oh, did he leave me a letter?’” she told actor Rob Lowe on his “Literally! With Rob Lowe” podcast.

“And I was like, am I telling him he was left a letter? I don’t know, OK?” Psaki said. “So I said, ‘I think so. I think, I think that’s what happened.’

“So he kind of looked around for the letter and read the letter while I was sitting there, which was just kind of a remarkable moment.”

According to Mediaite, Biden has not shared any details regarding the letter’s contents except to say that they were “generous.”

Psaki said she doesn’t know what was in the letter but nevertheless recalled it very clearly as one of her “early memories” in the White House.

“He didn’t read it out loud. He read it to himself,” she said of Biden. “And he is such a classy guy, whether people agree with his politics or not, that he didn’t even convey it to us in that moment of what the letter said, he kind of read the letter, consumed it himself.”

That’s not all.

Psaki also told Lowe that the former president’s handwriting was “lovely” and his letter was “very long.”

From this, it seems as though Trump, even in transitioning power to a man he didn’t believe had earned the presidency, was at least thoughtful enough to put together an eloquent message.

That’s not exactly a side of Trump that the Biden administration — or the establishment media — has been willing to portray.

Perhaps he isn’t the unprofessional buffoon the media have made him out to be.

Perhaps he’s a competent leader who is willing to — temporarily and privately — show respect to even those he disagrees with the most.

It’s possible that the letter was not nice, eloquent or even well-wishing.

But if so, it seems unlikely the Biden administration would have kept the letter a secret.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Republican North Carolina Congressman Madison Cawthorn said Democrats’ attempts to stop him from campaigning to keep his spot in Congress are “very close” to succeeding.

The representative appeared on Fox News on Monday and talked to host Tucker Carlson about what he said they are doing, MSN reported.

The Free Speech for People group cited Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which states that a person who “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” after taking a Congressional oath should be prevented from running again in their challenge.

The group claims that Cawthorn’s speech at the January 6 protest in Washington D.C. amounted to promoting an insurrection.

Democrats like to pretend that January 6, 2021, was the first time someone objected to votes for president in Congress.

But the fact is that Democrats objected to more states in 2016 than Republicans did in 2020, a Newsweek fact check reported.

According to a C-SPAN recording of the joint session that took place four years ago, the following House Democrats made objections:

-Jim McGovern (D-Mass.) objected to Alabama’s votes.

-Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) objected to Florida’s votes.

-Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) objected to Georgia’s votes.

-Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.) objected to North Carolina’s votes.

-Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) objected to the votes from North Carolina in addition to votes from South Carolina and Wisconsin. She also stood up and objected citing “massive voter suppression” after Mississippi’s votes were announced.

-Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) brought up allegations of Russian interference in the election and malfunctioning voting machines when she objected following the announcement of Michigan’s votes.

-Maxine Waters (D-Calif) rose and said, “I do not wish to debate. I wish to ask ‘Is there one United States senator who will join me in this letter of objection?’” after the announcement of Wyoming’s votes.

For an objection to be considered, it must be submitted in writing and signed by a member of both the House and Senate. Because no senators signed onto the objections made by House Democrats in 2017, then-Vice President Biden by law denied all of the objections, repeatedly saying “there is no debate.”

In 2020 some Senators did sign on to the objections, which separates them from the 2016 objections, but not as it relates to Rep. Cawthorn.

“I’m sure that you were as puzzled as I was following Jan. 6 when they started saying that we were insurrectionists, seditionists, traitors. I thought they were just trying to get a flashy headline,” the representative said to Carlson.

“What is going on here is that they are actually very close to being able to subvert the will of over 700,000 Americans,” he said, a reference to the approximate of any given congressional district.

“And make no mistake, Tucker: This is not just about a 26-year-old from western North Carolina in a wheelchair. This is about the future of our very nation. If they’re able to set this precedent in North Carolina, they will be able to keep anybody who had valid and legitimate concerns about what happened in the 2020 election from being able to ever hold office,” he said.

Carlson agreed with the representative.

“I think your analysis is so smart. You’re exactly right,” he said. “That’s why they called the rioters ‘insurrectionists.’ And so many conservative officeholders and news organizations have ignored it. They’re so embarrassed. They don’t see what this is really about, which is ending democracy.”

Earlier this month the representative laid into President Joe Biden during a House floor speech on Wednesday, slamming him as an “idiot” and “geriatric despot” who deserves the middle finger.

The Republican lawmaker was especially exercised over Biden’s ordering 3,000 U.S. troops to stage in Europe amid rising tension between Russia and Ukraine, as well as Russia and NATO.

“Madam Speaker, the sons, and daughters of America are not foot soldiers for your party’s inept, geriatric despot. They are not expendable pawns to be dispatched at the whims of an idiot, tossed carelessly around the world to Godforsaken caves and bloody sandboxes. They are Americans, worthy of honor and dignity. The only salute from them Joe Biden deserves involves one finger,” Cawthorn, 26, railed.

Many are considering backing Florida governor Rick DeSantis for President in 2024. While he is an excellent leader who has stepped up to defend Floridians from government overreach not just with COVID, but with many Democrat plans. Recently, DeSantis won a straw poll at CPAC, narrowly edging out President Trump. But despite his popularity, the idea of Donald Trump running against Joe Biden after all the corruption in the 2020 election has been revealed is an idea that makes many Americans happy — and there are numerous reasons why Trump should run in 2024.

Many have floated the idea of President Trump running for Congress in his home state of Florida in 2022. If we retake the House, this would likely result in Trump replacing crooked Nancy Pelosi as Speaker. And if we retake the Senate, we can fully defend against anything Joe Biden and the Democrats throw at us. This, of course, would not interfere with President Trump running for President in 2024. It would just give him more opportunities to remind Americans why he’s the right man for the job. So, why should Trump run in 2024?

Jobs, Jobs, Jobs

Before Americans began running scared about COVID and our economy suffered, President Trump managed to increase jobs in America by a lot — over three times the numbers projected by the government’s top experts.

Under Trump, the unemployment rate dropped to 3.5 percent. The median household income rose to the highest levels since the Great Recession of 2015. On average, middle-class families enjoyed an additional $6,000 per year. Though COVID-19 ruined all of the progress we made under Trump, if we ignore those special circumstances, President Trump was better for the economy than any President since Ronald Reagan.

In fact, jobless claims under Trump his a 50-year low. This stretched across every demographic, including  African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans, Native Americans, veterans, people with disabilities, women, and even people without a high school diploma.

Trump Can Handle A Crisis

It’s no secret that the Coronavirus created a disaster we have not seen in our lifetimes. President Trump handled it magnificently. Once we knew what China had unleashed on the world, President Trump leaped into action. He suspended all travel from China, required Americans who were returning home from COVID hotspots to undergo screening and quarantine. He restricted travel to areas where COVID presented a major threat, issued travel advisories, closed the borders, and generally kept America safe from outside threats.

Trump swiftly pulled together teams of experts to keep COVID from spreading. He declared a national emergency, established a 24/7 FEMA National Response Coordination Center. He used emergency authorizations to repurpose factories to develop personal protective equipment, and coordinated emergency response to the virus nationwide. He also made sure that testing for the virus happened nationwide, helping further keep it from spreading.

President Trump’s actions reduced COVID deaths from a projected 2.2 million to a tiny fraction of that. cut off funding to the World Health Organization once it became clear that it was in China’s pocket, and demanded that the world hold China responsible for releasing this virus on the world. He got Americans back to work and helped the country heal from Democrat-led shutdowns. Overall, his response to COVID-19 is a major reason President Trump should run in 2024.

The Border

Border security was perhaps one of President Trump’s most important issues. While Joe Biden is inviting illegals to pour across, spreading COVID and increasing crime rats in popular border crossing areas, Trump did the opposite. Illegals say that they would not be coming across if Trump was still President — and there are many reasons for this.

President Trump build over 400 miles of border wall to keep illegals from crossing, reducing illegal crossings by almost 90 percent. This effort was helped along by his decision to deploy almost 5,000 troops to the southern border and his ability to convince Mexico to also deploy tens of thousands of soldiers and national guardsmen to protect their side of the border. He ended Catch-and-Release.

President Trump, unlike Biden, ensured that immigration laws were followed. He signed an executive order to strip federal funding from sanctuary cities. He deported illegals quickly and effectively. Under Trump, the United States prosecuted a record number of immigration crimes. President Trump has done more to keep our nation safe from criminal gangs than any previous President.

These are just a few of the many, many reasons Trump should run in 2024. Under Joe Biden and the Democrats, we are losing the respect of world leaders. Americans are suffering. Our border security has almost completely collapsed. It’s time to bring America back to a state of prominence in the world. And with another term of President Trump’s presidency, we can truly make America great again.
