2022 Midterms

(RepublicanWire.org) – The final push for the midterms was underway in Pennsylvania Saturday as the commonwealth remained one of the top battlegrounds for control of the Senate with Republican candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz in a tight race with Fetterman. As part of the last ditch effort to garner votes, Obama traveled with the struggling Democrat, but the optics only emphasized the life support the campaign was relying on.

“Today Dr. Oz is gonna be standing with Donald Trump on the stage,” Fetterman said of the dueling rallies across the Keystone State, “and I’m gonna be proud to be standing with a president that is a hundred percent sedition free.”

No sooner had the statement left the candidates mouth, the wind picked up and toppled the backdrop of American flags behind the stage. After RNC Research posted a clip of the event with the caption, “John Fetterman’s rally is off to a great start…” Donald Trump Jr. shared the video and called the incident, “The perfect metaphor for Fetterman’s campaign.”

The New York Post’s Miranda Devine suggested there was something bigger at play and that “God has had enough!!”

She wasn’t alone in suspecting as Democrats campaign on abortion and corrupting and mutilating children that the Almighty may have making a point about the left’s platform. Ian Miles Cheong wrote,”Someone up there doesn’t like it when Fetterman tells lies.”

Similarly, Jack Posobiec drew attention to the imagery from a nearby Save America rally featuring  Republican gubernatorial candidate state Sen. Doug Mastriano and former President Donald Trump where a rainbow had appeared in Latrobe, PA about 35 miles away from the Democrats. He opined, “Signs and portents.”

Polling in Pennsylvania leading into the final weekend before the midterm showed Oz with a slight lead over Fetterman within the margin of error and still below the 50 percent threshold as nearly four percent remain undecided. As such, the weight of optics before Tuesday looms large and all of the momentum looks to be favoring Republicans in Pennsylvania following the train wreck that was the one and only debate between the candidates.

“What a visual for a sunken candidate,” Club for Growth Vice President of Government Affairs Scott Parkinson wrote as Peter Towey of Targeted Victory suggested, “John Fetterman’s lead fell faster then the flags.”

(RepublicanWire.org) – The Democrats know that their main vulnerabilities heading into Tuesday’s midterm elections are inflation, gas prices, crime and illegal immigration. The Dem strategy is now to gaslight by pretending those problems don’t really exist, and if they do in some places they’re just the fault of Republican exaggerations in their efforts to win back the House, Senate and state offices.

Hillary Clinton is trying to help out the Democrats by claiming that increased crime is actually a problem Republicans have caused.

“The states with the highest crime levels are states run by Republicans. That’s just a fact! We saw that very clearly in the recent debate in Oklahoma.” Clinton proclaimed.

Hillary is just trying to scare voters into not voting Republican by claiming Republicans are just scaring voters. It is both confusing and ridiculous.

(RepublicanWire.org) – President Biden claimed on Tuesday that he spoke to the man who “invented” insulin, there is just one problem, the doctor died before Biden was born.

The president’s comments came during an event in Hallandale Beach, Florida, during which he touted his administration’s efforts to lower healthcare costs for Americans.

“How many of you know somebody with diabetes, and needs insulin,” Biden asked the crowd.

“Do you know how much it costs to make that insulin drug for diabetes? … It was invented by a man who did not patent it because he wanted it available for everyone. I spoke to him, OK?” Biden claimed.

Dr. Frederick Banting, who was one of the doctors who discovered insulin in 1921 — refused to put his name on the patent — passed away in February of 1941. Joe Biden was not even born until November of 1942 — some 21 months later.

Banting received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for 1923 following his discovery. His assistant, Dr. Charles Best, was a medical student at the time and assisted with the discovery. He did put his name on the patent, along with Dr. James Bertram Collip, who helped refine it, but the two sold the patent to the University of Toronto for $1.

All three believed that it would not be ethical for them to take profits from something that could potentially save thousands or even millions of lives.

Physiologist John MacLeod, who also chose not to be named on the patent, played a role in the discovery, but had passed away in 1935. While both Drs. Collip and Best were still living after Biden was born, he ruled them out as the ones he spoke to because they did ultimately put their names on the patent.

Biden also misspoke about the ongoing “war in Iraq” and also claimed it was where his son died.

“Inflation is a worldwide problem right now because of a war in Iraq and the impact on oil and what Russia’s doing, excuse me, the war in Ukraine,” Biden said.

“I’m thinking of Iraq because that’s where my son died,” he added, as an excuse for the verbal slip.

Biden spent most of his speech expressing anger toward Republicans and concluded his speech with a final dig at his political opponents.

“God bless you all. God protect our troops and God give our Republican friends some enlightenment,” he said.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Socialist Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York denied that government policies exacerbated inflation and instead blamed corporate greed while claiming Americans were in an “environment of fascism.”

Ocasio-Cortez made the claims while being interviewed by MSNBC host Chris Hayes on his show. She was addressing how Democrats were failing in polls ahead of the midterm elections because of the weak economy.

“Even when we talk about issues like inflation. A lot of this has to do with the massive consolidation of our markets and corporate greed,” she claimed emphatically.

“Our inflation is not going up due to government policies, inflation is going up due to Wall Street decisions,” she angrily said.

Earlier in the interview, she also said America was facing “an environment of fascism” from Republican candidates running for Congress in the midterms in reference to some citizens, mostly on the right, ostensibly guarding voter ballot boxes from voter fraud.

“There is absolutely no doubt that the data shows that the vast majority of incidents of domestic terror come from white nationalism,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

“And that we are really truly facing an environment of fascism and in the United States of America,” she continued, “this type of intimidation at the polls brings us to Jim Crow, it bring us back and hearkens back to a very unique form of American apartheid that is not that long past ago. And we have never fully healed from it. And those wounds threaten to rip right back open if we do not strongly defend democracy in United States of America.”

Ocasio-Cortez was repeating a well-worn defense used by Democrats and others to try to defend President Joe Biden and his high-spending policies from those saying they made inflation worse. Polls show that Americans mostly blame Biden’s policies for inflation ahead of a key midterm election season.

Though current inflation levels were likely inevitable due to the Federal Reserve’s decade-long zero interest rate and quantitative easing policy following the 2008 recession, the creation of $5 trillion into the money supply out of thin air during COVID greatly exacerbated the inflation rate.

Though the Federal Reserve is incrementally raising interest rates, the government is still continuing to spend more than it takes in, especially as a result of the Biden regime constantly sending billions of dollars the U.S. doesn’t have to Ukraine.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Appearing with MSNBC’s Al Sharton, Hochul pushed back against Republican worries about crime only days head of the midterm elections. Hochul even referred to Republican critics at one point as “master manipulators.”

“These are master manipulators. They have this conspiracy going all across America trying to convince people in Democratic states that they’re not as safe. Well guess what? They’re also not only election deniers, they’re data deniers,” she said.

The governor blasted states with less strict gun laws and blasted her opponent, Republican Lee Zeldin, for coming from Long Island, where crime has been down.

Safer spaces today, Hochul claimed, are Democratic-controlled states.

“Safer places are the Democratic states,” she said.

Crime in New York’s subway system is up by 41% as of Oct. 17, CNN reported, citing statistics from New York Police Department.

With crime on the rise nationwide, 64% of Americans blame “woke politicians” for the issue, according to a recent Harvard-Harris poll. Fifty-two percent of Democrats, 75% of Republicans and 60% of independents blamed “woke politicians” rather than “other factors” for the nation’s historic increase in crime.

Hochul has been blasted over a remark she made during a debate with Zeldin last week, when he confronted her about the skyrocketing crime in New York, and she literally said, “I don’t know why that’s so important to you”?

Meanwhile, Zeldin tweeted Sunday evening, “Just left Borough Park. It’s clearer than ever we have all of the energy and momentum on our side, we have the issues on our side, and, in 9 Days, New Yorkers are ALL IN to FIRE Kathy Hochul, TAKE BACK our streets, and SAVE our State!”

Early voting in New York started Saturday and goes through next Sunday. The election is Nov. 8.

With the election coming down to the wire, an unconstitutional infringement was caught on video showing NYPD removing Lee Zeldin signs in Brooklyn.

(RepublicanWire.org) – During a speech on Friday evening at the “Pennsylvania Democratic Party Reception,” Biden touted his party’s success in protecting the Affordable Care Act from being dismantled during former President Donald Trump’s term.

Trump had campaigned on replacing Obamacare, though as Biden claimed Friday, Democrats campaigned hard in 2018 to prevent that from happening. In his speech, he warned that the GOP will go after their health care if they gain the congressional majority.

Two-thirds of the way through his address, Biden said, “And, of course, they’re going try for their 499th time, or whatever the number is — they’re still determined to eliminate the Affordable Care Act. And, by the way, if they do, that means — not a joke, everybody.”

Then he made his latest viral statement. “Not a joke, everybody!” Biden said with slurred speech. “That’s why we defeated it in 2018 when they tried to do it we went to 54 states.”

Conservative critics concerned with the president getting the number of states wrong, took to twitter to mock him.

Kamala Harris joined Biden Friday evening, and the joint appearance was super awkward. Kamala had to keep old Joe from falling off the stage.

Joe Biden’s mental decline continues to worsen with each passing day.

Many Americans speculate that Biden, who is the oldest president in U.S. history, is suffering from age-related dementia. He turns 80 next month.

Dr. Ronny Jackson, who served as the former White House physician under both Presidents Obama and Trump, told Fox News that he believes Biden will be forced to resign or face the 25th Amendment over issues related to his fitness for office.

“Something’s SERIOUSLY wrong with Biden,” Jackson wrote on social media. “And it’s only going to get WORSE! It’s past the point of embarrassment.”

Jackson continued, “He’s lost. He’s confused. He can barely put a coherent sentence together. He MUST have a cognitive exam and release the results!” Jackson added.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Pennsylvania Democratic Senate candidate John Fetterman stumbled during Tuesday’s debate with his GOP challenger, Dr. Mehmet Oz, after he was asked about prior statements he made in opposition to fracking, a process he now says he has “always supported.”

“I’ve always supported fracking and I always believe that independence with our energy is critical, and we can’t be held, you know, ransom to somebody like Russia,” Fetterman said. “I’ve always believed that energy independence is critical and I’ve always believed that — and I do support fracking, never taken any money from their industry, but I support how critical it is that we produce our energy and create energy independence.”

Pressed on the issue and how to “square” his previous comments against fracking with his current position, Fetterman said, “I do support fracking, and I don’t, I don’t — I support fracking, and I stand, and I do support fracking.”

Fetterman, currently Pennsylvania’s lieutenant governor, supported a complete moratorium on fracking in the state, according to an April 2016 Facebook post from Pennsylvania Voters Against Fracking.

He also said during a 2016 debate, during his first run for Senate, that he supported a fracking moratorium.

Even CNN fact checked John Fetterman, and decided Fetterman has indeed flip flopped.

In a 2018 YouTube interview, Fetterman said, “I don’t support fracking, at all, and I never have.”

“I’ve signed the no fossil fuels money pledge,” he added at the time. “I have never received a dime from any natural gas or oil company whatsoever.”

In addition, as previously reported in July, Fetterman called the Pennsylvania fracking industry a “stain” on the state and recounted his own “extremely privileged” upbringing in Reddit posts during his unsuccessful 2016 run for Senate.

“I’m not pro-fracking and have stated that if we did things right in this state, we wouldn’t have fracking,” Fetterman wrote in one Reddit post. “The industry is a stain on our state and natural resources. But yes, of course I worry about the viability of getting a ban on fracking done when the industry is already so entrenched in Pennsylvania,” he said, adding that he had “signed the Food and Water Watch’s pledge to end Fracking.”

Contrary to previous remarks he had offered related to fracking, Fetterman and his campaign have walked back his past support for anti-fossil fuel leasing policies.

“John does not support a fracking moratorium or ban. If you were paying attention to our campaign, you would have known this has not been his position for years and that he was attacked in the primary over his support of fracking,” Fetterman campaign spokesperson Joe Calvello told Fox News Digital in a July email. “In fact, throughout his career John has stood up to politicians to fight for U.S. Steel’s right to build fracking wells.”

“John believes that we have to preserve the union way of life for the thousands of workers currently employed or supported by the natural gas industry in Pennsylvania and the communities where they live,” he added.

Many weighed in to voice their concerns on Fetterman’s well being.

Fetterman, who suffered a near-fatal stroke in May, said in his opening remarks that he might miss words during the debate due to his ongoing auditory processing recovery.

(RepublicanWire.org) – On Thursday, as Biden was trying to head out to his helicopter to go to Pennsylvania to campaign for John Fetterman, he stopped to speak with reporters. However, one reporter put him on the spot, “John Fetterman’s gonna appear with you today in Pennsylvania, but there haven’t been that many candidates campaigning with you…,” an indisputable statement of fact.

While answering the question, the president seemed especially angry and aggressive. Biden interrupted her, and grabbed her, “That’s not true! There’ve been 15. COUNT KID, COUNT!”

Then Biden was then asked a question that related to abortion rights. Upon providing his nonsensical answer in which he referred to the now-overturned landmark Roe v. Wade case, Biden can be seen reaching out and grabbing the reporter’s arms saying, “It’s Roe v. Wade. Read it, man. You’ll get educated.”

One can only imagine the sheer outrage from the left if former President Donald Trump exhibited the same erratic behaviors, to the point where he grabbed and yanked reporters’ hands and arms.

President Biden has often appeared to be short-tempered and has snapped at a number of reporters and members of the general public throughout his 2020 campaign and during the first 20 months of his presidency.

On Wednesday, Biden delivered some remarks on his infrastructure law and its implementation. Doocy took the opportunity to get Biden on record, asking whether he had “abortion or inflation” at the top of his domestic agenda.

“Mr. President, could you help us out just really quick? What is your top domestic priority? Is it inflation or is it abortion?” Doocy asked, prompting the president to cock his brow, and slowly fiddle with a pen, eventually putting it in his pocket as other journalists shouted questions.

“Just hoping to clarify for midterm voters, top domestic issue: inflation or abortion?” Doocy reasserted. This is when Biden snapped.

“They’re all important. Unlike you, there’s no one thing. It crosses the board. Domestic — ask me about foreign policy too. There’s multiple, multiple, multiple issues, and they’re all important,” Biden sneered. “And so — and we ought to be able to walk and chew gum at the same time. You know that old expression?”

The White House Press Association should be objecting to the way Biden treats reporters. This is getting out of control. Having a person in charge that acts like this is a danger to national security.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Two years ago, candidate Joe Biden loudly denounced President Donald Trump for immigration policies that inflicted “cruelty and exclusion at every turn,” including toward those fleeing the “brutal” government of socialist Nicolas Maduro in Venezuela.

Now, with increasing numbers of Venezuelans arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border as the Nov. 8 election nears, Biden has turned to an unlikely source for a solution: his predecessor’s playbook.

Biden last week invoked a Trump-era rule known as Title 42 — which Biden’s own Justice Department is fighting in court — to deny Venezuelans fleeing their crisis-torn country the chance to request asylum at the border.

The rule, first invoked by Trump in 2020, uses emergency public health authority to allow the United States to keep migrants from seeking asylum at the border, based on the need to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Under the new Biden administration policy, Venezuelans who walk or swim across America’s southern border will be expelled and any Venezuelan who illegally enters Mexico or Panama will be ineligible to come to the United States. But as many as 24,000 Venezuelans will be accepted at U.S. airports, similar to how Ukrainians have been admitted since Russia’s invasion in February.

Mexico has insisted that the U.S. admit one Venezuelan on humanitarian parole for each Venezuelan it expels to Mexico, according to a Mexican official who was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly and spoke condition of anonymity. So if the Biden administration paroles 24,000 Venezuelans to the U.S., Mexico would take no more than 24,000 Venezuelans expelled from the U.S.

The Biden policy marks an abrupt turn for the White House, which just weeks ago was lambasting Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, both Republicans, for putting Venezuelan migrants “fleeing political persecution” on buses and planes to Democratic strongholds.

“These were children, they were moms, they were fleeing communism,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said at the time.

Biden’s new policy has drawn swift criticism from immigrant advocates, many of them quick to point out the Trump parallels.

“Rather than restore the right to asylum decimated by the Trump administration … the Biden administration has dangerously embraced the failures of the past and expanded upon them by explicitly enabling expulsions of Venezuelan migrants,” said Jennifer Nagda, policy director of the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights.

The administration says the policy is aimed at ensuring a “lawful and orderly” way for Venezuelans to enter the U.S.

Why the turnaround?

For more than a year after taking office in January 2021, Biden deferred to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which used its authority to keep in place the Trump-era declaration that a public health risk existed that warranted expedited expulsion of asylum-seekers.

Members of Biden’s own party and activist groups had expressed skepticism about the public health underpinnings for allowing Title 42 to remain in effect, especially when COVID-19 was spreading more widely within the U.S. than elsewhere.

After months of internal deliberations and preparations, the CDC on April 1 said it would end the public health order and return to normal border processing of migrants, giving them a chance to request asylum in the U.S.

Homeland Security officials braced for a resulting increase in border crossings.

But officials inside and outside the White House were conflicted over ending the authority, believing it effectively kept down the number of people crossing the border illegally, according to senior administration officials.

A court order in May that kept Title 42 in place due to a challenge from Republican state officials was greeted with quiet relief by some in the administration, according to officials who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity to discuss internal discussions.

The recent increase in migration from Venezuela, sparked by political, social and economic instability in the country, dashed officials’ hopes that they were finally seeing a lull in the chaos that had defined the border region for the past year.

By August, Venezuelans were the second-largest nationality arriving at the U.S. border after Mexicans. Given that U.S. tensions with Venezuela meant migrants from the country could not be sent back easily, the situation became increasingly difficult to manage.

So an administration that had rejected many Trump-era policies aimed at keeping out migrants, that had worked to make the asylum process easier and that had increased the number of refugees allowed into the U.S. now turned to Title 42.

(RepublicanWire.org) – With President Joe Biden’s popularity still close to a historic low, Democratic candidates who want a big name supporting their campaigns are reaching out to his predecessor, Barack Obama. Unfortunately for them, Obama is turning them away. The former president says his presence energizes Republicans — but is the real reason that he sees a disaster coming and doesn’t want to be linked to it?

November’s midterm elections are just weeks away, and a lot of Democratic candidates are nervous. Many of them are looking for party heavyweights to give their campaigns a boost, but House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is a divisive figure, and President Biden’s approval rating is staying at or below 40%.

Candidates who want a backer that voters might actually like are begging former President Obama for his support — but Obama wants to take a “limited and careful” approach, according to CNN, and plans to turn down those requests.

People close to Obama say he believes “his presence fires up GOP opposition just as much as it lights up supporters” and it’s more helpful for him to stay away from individual campaigns, but former political strategist Steve Bannon has a different theory. He says Obama is predicting an electoral disaster for the Democrats and “doesn’t want the stench of defeat on him.”
