Slavery ended seemingly forever ago and the nation has moved on. Black Americans have equal rights to every other American, protections in place to ensure things stay that way, and we’ve even had a black President. Still, people who have never been slaves have been for a long time demanding to be paid for what people who are no longer alive endured. The Biden Administration seems poised to cave on this — in a way.

Biden plans to provide free college tuition to students who attend historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) as a way for white people who have never owned slaves to apologize for slavery. The Daily Caller reports:

President Joe Biden’s administration will move forward with policies beneficial to African-Americans as Congress considers creating a commission to study the merits of direct reparation payments, White House adviser Cedric Richmond told Axios in an interview. The House Judiciary Committee held a hearing on Feb. 17 regarding legislation that would create the commission.

“If you start talking about free college tuition to [historically black colleges and universities] and you start talking about free community college in Title I and all of those things, I think that you are well on your way,” Richmond said when asked about reparations, according to Axios.

“We have to start breaking down systemic racism and barriers that have held people of color back and especially African-Americans,” Richmond says. “We have to do stuff now.”

“We don’t want to wait on a study,” Richmond adds. “We’re going to start acting now.” Democrats are currently trying to pass legislation to provide free college at HBCUs, but the administration refuses to rule out going farther. Direct payments to African-Americans are a distinct possibility.

Thousands a day are dying of COVID, but Democrats are focused on racial politics and providing special favors based on skin color. It’s ridiculous. It’s unethical. It’s unconstitutional. We are all Americans, regardless of race — and all this does is treat some people better than others based solely on that one factor.
