Joe Biden sure knows how to staff the White House. Natalie Montelongo, Biden’s new  deputy director for political strategy and outreach has definitely engaged in quite a bit of “outreach” in the past. In fact, she once told protesters to “shut down” ICE and that it “doesn’t have to exist.”

“If you’re looking for a way to help – look up your nearest ICE office and shut-it-down,” Montelongo tweeted in June 2018. This was a response to a tweet about “protests” in Portland when the danger presented by the riots forced the local ICE office to close out of fear for the safety of staff.

Instead of condemning the terrorism that led to this forced shutdown, she urged “protesters” to terrorize employees of the agency nationwide. The next month, she fed into the violence we have seen even more by suggesting to rioters that ICE “doesn’t have to exist.”

At the time, liberals were pushing to abolish the law enforcement agency altogether — but based on her previous remarks, Montelongo was clearly suggesting something more extreme — “shutting down” ICE offices by making them “not exist.”

Biden hasn’t directly tried to abolish ICE, but he did propose a 100-day moratorium on deportations, which are the lowest out of any recent administration. Fortunately, a lawsuit from the state of Texas reversed that terrible decision. Biden responded by handcuffing ICE, ordering them to only focus on illegals who are a national security threat, repeat border crosses, or those convicted of an “aggravated felony.” Anyone else can apparently run across the border and into our communities.

Montelongo must apologize for her dangerous and hurtful rhetoric, then she must do the right thing and fall on her sword. She must resign and be replaced by someone who respects the rule of law. Contrary to what the Biden administration believes, such a thing does exist.
