After his disaster in Afghanistan, Joe Biden’s Approval rating is almost the lowest of any President at this point in his term. In fact, only two Presidents have received as low of marks from Americans as has Biden — and one of them was unfairly targeted by the media in a monumental disinformation and smear campaign. Biden’s decision to hand Afghanistan to the Taliban and his subsequent bungling of our exit from the country have caused most Americans to lose all faith that he is capable of serving as POTUS.
Fox News reports that Biden’s approval numbers have been in a nosedive since the Afghanistan debacle. But that’s not all. Americans are concerned by the spike in COVID-19 cases thanks in part to his incompetence in handling the spread of the Delta variant. Now, his approval has slipped to as low as 43 percent — a drop of around 5 percent:
Biden’s approval rating hovered in the low to mid 50s since taking office in late January. But his numbers started sliding last month, as the crisis in Afghanistan dominated media coverage and mask mandates started returning in certain spots across the country as coronavirus cases rose.
The president stands at 45%-49% approval/disapproval in an average of the latest surveys compiled by RealClearPolitics, and at 46%-48% in a compilation by the polling and analysis website FiveThirtyEight.
Forty-four percent of Americans questioned in an ABC News/Washington Post poll released this weekend said they approved of the job Biden’s doing in the White House, down six points from June. Just over half of those polled (51%) gave the president a thumbs-down on how he’s handling his duties, a jump of nine points from June.
Other polling has Biden at as low as 43 percent. Biden has dropped from 93 percent approval among Democrats to 86 percent. Republican disapproval of the current occupant of the Oval Office is 89 percent.
According ABC News polling director Gary Langer, polling dating back to the Truman administration shows that , “only two presidents have had a lower approval rating at this point in their terms: Donald Trump, at 37% in August 2017, and Gerald Ford, also 37%, in March 1975.
But as we all know, polls were manipulated to make President Trump look less popular than he was. It’s unclear where he would measure up to Biden if accurate and honest numbers were used. But one thing is clear: Americans are greatly dissatisfied with Joe Biden and approaching a dissatisfaction level that may soon be the lowest we have ever seen.
