(RepublicanWire.org) – Trevor Noah, host of “The Daily Show,” headlined Saturday night’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner, after President Joe Biden gave his own remarks. Many of the jokes were true, as was also the case with the president’s remarks, specifically as he poked fun at himself with his low approval ratings. When it came time for Noah to reference how the American people are hurting from high costs across the board, Biden’s reaction really drew responses, for all the wrong reasons.

“I think ever since you came into office, things are really looking up, you know. Gas is up, rent is up, food is up, everything.” The camera panned to Biden’s reaction, which wasn’t a simple chuckle, but some hearty laughter.

The next day, on Sunday afternoon, Joe Biden’s personal account tweeted a pitiful attempt of trying to convince Americans that “I’m focused on doing everything I can to lower the cost of gas and energy and accelerate our transition to clean energy.”

The tweet once more prompted replies of that clip of the president laughing while the American people suffer under his administration and due to his policies.

Worse for the president, a poll from The Washington Post-ABC News was released on Sunday morning, as it once more highlights how the American people largely disapprove of how he is handling these issues.

When it comes to how Biden is handling issues such as “the economy,” just 38 percent approve while 57 percent disapprove. On “inflation, that is rising prices,” he has just a 28 percent approval level, while 68 percent disapprove.

(RepublicanWire.org) – The state of Texas has filed another immigration-related lawsuit against the Biden administration following changes to asylum and parole procedures along the border deemed illegal.

The suit filed by Attorney General Ken Paxton is the 11th one related to border and immigration issues.

“I protested the proposed version of these rules back in October 2021, and, unsurprisingly, Biden found a way to make it worse, so I’m suing,” Paxton noted in a statement.

“The last thing Texas needs is for this Administration to make it easier for illegal aliens to enter the U.S. and obtain asylum through false claims and less oversight. We know what’s going to happen when the rule goes into effect in May 2022: wave upon wave of illegal aliens claiming ‘asylum,’” he continued.

“It’s true that our immigration system is extremely backlogged. But the answer is to secure the border, not overwhelm it even more by enacting cheap, easy incentives for illegal aliens to get into the United States,” he added.

According to his complaint, Paxton seeks to block the Department of Homeland Security from implementing a policy changing the system of processing illegal migrants who claim to fear persecution in their home countries.

The rule change shifts handling of those cases from immigration judges to asylum officers. If Paxton’s bid to block the rule is unsuccessful, it will take effect on May 29.

The transfer of authority would upend the present system of handling asylum cases along the border, the complaint alleges.

“The Interim Rule transfers significant authority from immigration judges to asylum officers, grants those asylum officers significant additional authority, limits immigration-judge review to denials of applications, and upends the entire adjudicatory system to the benefit of aliens,” the lawsuit says.

The Texas AG also took to Twitter to blast the Biden administration over its latest change to border policy.

“The last thing TX needs is Biden to make it easy for aliens to break into USA through false claims. We know what’ll happen when the rule goes into effect: new waves of illegals claiming ‘asylum.’ I’m suing to stop it,” he tweeted on Thursday.

A legal challenge last week that was led by Paxton saw the attorneys general of 21 states file suit to stop the administration from ending Title 42, a Trump-era pandemic authority that allowed for rapid deportation of most illegal migrants.

“The Biden Administration has made one disastrous border decision after another, and I’ve sued him at every turn,” Paxton wrote in his complaint. “But his new plan to rescind Title 42 is the most consequential yet. Without Title 42, hundreds of thousands more illegal aliens will flood Texas every month—even more than have been pouring over in the past year.”

On Wednesday, a federal judge ruled that the administration had to continue enforcing Title 42 for the next 14 days.

The order requires the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to continue enforcing the policy, and prevents the agency from implementing the CDC’s order to terminate the program.

“It is hereby ordered that for the next 14 days, unless this Court acts to extend or shorten that period: Defendants, including DHS and all of its subdivisions, agencies, and employees, are hereby enjoined and restrained from implementing the Termination Order, including increases (over pre-Termination Order levels) in processing of migrants from Northern Triangle countries through Title 8 proceedings rather than under the Title 42 Orders, and are further enjoined and restrained from reducing processing of migrants pursuant to Title 42,” the order stated.

“Defendants acknowledge some changes in policy in preparation for the termination of the CDC’s Title 42 Order, particularly with respect to the increased processing via expedited removal of single adults from the Northern Triangle countries (El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras),” U.S. District Judge Robert R. Summerhays wrote.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Special Prosecutor John Durham wanted to use Hillary Clinton’s tweet accusing Trump of having a secret line of communication with Russian Alfa Bank as evidence in Michael Sussmann’s trial next month. However, an Obama appointed judge will not allow Hillary Clinton’s tweet to be admitted as evidence.

Sussmann was indicted last September for lying to the FBI.

According to the indictment, Sussmann falsely told James Baker he wasn’t doing work “for any client” when he asked for a meeting with the FBI where he presented bogus evidence the Trump Tower was secretly communicating with Kremlin-tied Alfa Bank.

Hillary Clinton fired off a tweet claiming Trump Tower was secretly communicating with Russian Alfa Bank.

US District Judge Christopher Cooper, an Obama appointee on Wednesday denied Durham’s request to use Hillary Clinton’s tweet in Sussmann’s trial.

Hillary Clinton’s tweet touting Trump-Russia collusion claims will not be allowed as evidence in the trial against Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann despite efforts by special counsel John Durham

On Wednesday, Judge Christopher Cooper, an Obama appointee, denied Durham’s efforts to bring the tweet up at trial, saying “the court will exclude that as hearsay” and that “it’s likely duplicative of other evidence” related to demonstrating the attorney-client relationship.

Durham had told the federal court earlier this month that he wanted the October 2016 tweet from the Clinton campaign promoting the Alfa-Bank claims to be admitted as evidence at the May trial.

The special counsel argued the tweet is not inadmissible hearsay “because it is not being offered for its truth” — emphasizing that the prosecutors actually believe its claims were false. Durham said he instead wanted to present the tweet to “show the existence of the defendant’s attorney-client relationship with the Clinton Campaign, which is directly relevant to the false statement charge.”

(RepublicanWire.org) – Crime is up, and President Joe Biden’s administration would like you to believe they’re supporting local law enforcement in dealing with the surge.

In one brutal six-minute clip from Attorney General Merrick Garland’s testimony before the Senate Appropriations Committee on Tuesday, however, GOP Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana dismantled the administration’s top law enforcement official over how serious it was about supporting cops in cities which have borne the brunt of the recent crime wave.

According to the Daily Caller, the Department of Justice is asking for $37.65 billion in funding for Fiscal Year 2023. That’s a $2.63 billion increase.

However, Kennedy didn’t think that money was going to the right places, particularly given the circumstances.

“I think the Justice Department is losing. I think you’re losing on crime,” Kennedy began.

“I think you’re losing on drugs. I think you’re losing on immigration. I think you’re losing on Chinese espionage.”

On crime, Kennedy began by asking Garland what percentage of law enforcement officers he thought were “bad cops” or “racist.” He also asked what percentage of cops didn’t follow the Constitution. In all cases, Garland said the number was very small.

All right, then: “Why doesn’t the Justice Department support stop, question and frisk?” Kennedy asked. Garland said he wasn’t aware of a Justice Department position, so Kennedy restated: “Why doesn’t the Justice Department aggressively encourage law enforcement officials to use that technique?”

“Let’s take Chicago, where we haven’t made any inroads in stopping the killing,” Kennedy said. The city has already seen 169 murders in 2022 and almost 800 in 2021, which was the highest number since 1996.

“Chicago is now the world’s largest outdoor shooting range. We know that a lot of the shootings come from gangs,” Kennedy said.

“Why wouldn’t you want to call the police chief and the mayor in Chicago and say, ‘Look, you know who these gang members are. When you have reasonable suspicion under Terry v. Ohio, an objective standard, more than just a hunch, why don’t you aggressively stop, question and frisk these gang members?”

Garland deflected: “The best way for the federal government to stop violent crime is to work at each local level and determine, and let the state and locals determine, what the best use of their own resources is.”

“I’m sorry to interrupt, but I’m trying to get some answers,” Kennedy said. “Why won’t you do that? Just tell me why you won’t do that. Your opinion matters.”

“Because there is no one-solution-fits-all that the federal government can suggest to state and local law enforcement,” Garland responded. “We believe state and local law enforcement knows best as to what to do there. We provide our technical expertise. We put lots of resources into joint task forces.”

And that’s where Kennedy pounced, as they like to say.

“You are asking in the middle of raging inflation for 7 percent more money, $2.63 billion, to provide technical increase, technical advice?” Kennedy said

“I mean, we’re going backwards here on crime, General. You are the country’s chief law enforcement officer, and you won’t even answer my question about how you feel about stop, question and frisk?”

The answer is obvious: Stop, question and frisk is highly effective. It’s also highly radioactive in leftist circles since it’s assumed the practice will be applied in a racist manner. The issue practically destroyed Michael Bloomberg’s 2020 Democratic presidential campaign before it began because of his endorsement of stop-and-frisk during his time as New York City mayor. Coming out and endorsing it would be suicide for anyone in the Biden administration, much less Attorney General Garland.

And yet, Kennedy prefaced this by making sure everyone knew Garland didn’t think cops were “bad” or “racist” and that they followed the Constitution. Thus, if they weren’t targeting people by race and respecting their constitutional rights, stop-and-frisk should be something the Department of Justice is encouraging in cities like Chicago, right?

This administration can “fund the police” all it wants — but we’ll still have the same lawlessness and a bigger pile of debt to go with it.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Attorney General Merrick Garland defended President Joe Biden on Tuesday, saying the president has not interfered with a federal tax fraud investigation involving his son, Hunter Biden.

At a Senate subcommittee hearing, Sen. Bill Hagerty, R-Tenn. pressed Garland about various reports speculating that President Biden “was involved with” his son’s overseas business dealings.

“Do you have any reason to dispute the evidence that indicates that President Biden was involved with and using money from Hunter Biden’s business deals?” asked Hagerty.

“The president has already told his subordinates; clearly, these are people that he can fire at will, that he and his family did nothing wrong. How can the American people be confident that his administration is conducting a serious investigation?” the senator asked.

Garland declined to answer whether he or any senior DOJ official had been briefed on the ongoing probe into Hunter Biden’s business dealings with foreign officials through the years, saying the U.S. attorney for the District of Delaware — a Trump-era appointee — was handling the investigation “unsupervised.”

Garland also said a special counsel wouldn’t be needed for the investigation.

“There will not be interference of any political or improper kind,” Garland said during his sworn testimony.

Later on, Hagerty asked Garland, “Would it be appropriate for the president to call you into the Oval Office and tell you that his son didn’t break the law regarding this matter?”

To which, Garland sternly answered, “Absolutely not! … The president has not done that. The president has committed not to interfere, not only in that investigation but any kind of “

Hagerty then reportedly cut Garland off to highlight recent instances in which the president’s advisers defended Hunter Biden publicly.

White House chief of staff Ron Klain appeared on ABC’s “This Week” program just two days after a federal grand jury reportedly heard testimony about Hunter Biden’s cash flow, while serving on the board of Ukraine energy company Burisma. Klain said: “Of course the president’s confident that his son didn’t break the law.”

Also, White House press secretary Jen Psaki dodged a media question Monday, inquiring about a New York Post report of a Hunter Biden business associate Eric Schwerin, the former president of Hunter Biden’s investment firm Rosemont Seneca, visiting the White House 19 separate times from 2009-13.

The potential relevance here: President Biden has previously stated he has “never spoken” to Hunter Biden, or any of his financial partners, about outside business deals.

Later in the Senate hearing, Hagerty asked Garland whether Americans “can be confident that this administration is conducting a serious investigation.”

Garland answered in the affirmative, adding, “Because you have me as the attorney general, who is committed to the independence of the Justice Department from any influence from the White House in criminal matters.”

(RepublicanWire.org) – On the latest episode of his Real Time show, liberal comedian Bill Maher slammed leftists for ignoring the reality that Critical Race Theory and woke ideology are really present in American public schools.

Maher then pointed to one of the examples from the textbooks that the state provided, which showed a math book contained a problem that asked students to show that conservatives were more racist than liberals.

“It hinges on whether there really is something going on in the schools that never was going on there before and maybe shouldn’t be going on there. So, we got information today about this. Because this is about what is going on in schools all across the country, but Florida is, of course, the focal point because it’s Florida. So, they took out 41 textbooks, math textbooks. And at the beginning of the week, we didn’t know why. They said there are things in there that are inappropriate for children. Today, they released four examples. This just happened before we came out here, I read through them. A lot of it, I feel like . . . it’s like kids should have empathy when they’re learning. Fine, I’m okay with that. Most of it, I thought was kind of a nothing burger, but here’s one . . . this is a math question, measuring racial prejudice by political identification. I mean, this is teaching math. And why use that example?” Maher began.

Maher said while many on the Left want to downplay the fact that Critical Race Theory is in schools, it does exist and that Governor DeSantis does have a point.

“I don’t think this is typical, I think they . . . picked 41 books and they have four examples. Of the examples, this was the most egregious. But it does exist. It is real. So, again, I don’t know why Democrats do this to themselves. I think DeSantis is demagoguing this issue. Because I think he thinks this is a great way to be the candidate in 2024 by owning the libs,” Maher concluded.

(RepublicanWire.org) – In the never ending liberal game of “guess what’s racist today,” Democrats in Washington State are now saying that the word “marijuana” is “racist.”

Washington Democrats are now demanding that the legislature comb through its laws, rules, and statutes to eliminate the word “marijuana” because it somehow now means “black people.”

“The term ‘marijuana’ itself is pejorative and racist,” bill sponsor Washington state Democrat Rep. Melanie Morgan, said during testimony for the bill last year. Morgan then tried to prove her case by bringing up the Spanish origins of the word.

She insisted that marijuana use became more popular, “it was negatively associated with Mexican immigrants.” The state lawmaker claimed it is “racist terminology” and was used “to lock up black and brown people.”

Some pot companies in the state agree because the word does have a long history in the U.S. of being connected to criminality, KIRO-TV reported.

One legal pot grower, Joy Hollingsworth, said that the word is “traumatic” for black people because so many had been arrested for illegal use of the drug.

“We have a lot of people, especially in the black community that went to prison over cannabis for years. That were locked up, separated from their nuclear family, which is huge,” Hollingsworth said, adding the word “triggers” black people. “It’s really painful for people to hear that word and it triggers them.”

Leftist Governor Jay Inslee signed the bill into law March 11. The changes will take effect in June.

(RepublicanWire.org) – A growing trail of violent crime is sweeping across America. However, countless murders, robberies, assaults and property destruction are the result of “woke” district attorneys who run their offices with little to no accountability, limited prosecutorial experience, a propensity for crime, and a trend of unfairly prosecuting political adversaries.

At the state level, far-left radical beneficiaries of the George Soros “Secretary of State Project,” the American non-profit, progressive 527 political action committee, focused on electing “reform-minded progressive” Secretaries of State in battleground states. These offices typically oversee the election process in their state. The Project is funded by Soros and members of the Democracy Alliance.

Here is list by state and jurisdiction of every DA identified by the Capital Research Center (CRC) as receiving Soros funding, and some notable details about each. Some of the commentary comes from CRC observations.

California

Diana Becton—Contra Costa County, California. Backed by $275,000 from Soros in 2018, Becton became the first woman and first African American elected to serve as DA for Contra Costa County. She is also one of the first in the position to have zero prior experience as a prosecutor. During Becton’s first years in office four Contra Costa cities made the list of the top 100 most dangerous cities in California in 2018, and both violent crime and property crime increased by several percent during 2019.

George Gascon—Los Angeles County, California. Soros has spent a combined $6 million on California DA races, much of it wasted on failed candidates, but almost half was spent on the successful campaign of George Gascon for Los Angles DA. Soros was the largest spender in the race, and Gascon won easily.

Since the election, his implementation of left-wing policies led to a crime wave that has become the stuff of legend. Homicide rates soared, organized shoplifting sprees ravaged the city, trains were stopped and ransacked by mobs of looters. Under Gascon’s watch the city of Los Angles has rapidly become a national disgrace.

Florida

Monique Worrell—Ninth Judicial Circuit (Orange and Osceola County), Florida. Monique Worrell is the second Soros candidate to become state attorney for Orange and Osceola County. Her predecessor, Aramis Ayala, was a “long-shot candidate” elected in 2016 with the help of more than $1.3 million in spending by the Florida Safety and Justice PAC. Ayala immediately earned a reputation for her activist approach, which led to her removal from multiple high-profile murder cases by two different Republican governors. During Ayala’s tenure, violent crime increased dramatically, with murders increasing by 26 percent during 2020.

After Ayala left office to run for Congress, Worrell filled her shoes, with $1 million from Soros’s Democracy PAC surging into the race at the last minute to help her claim victory against her moderate opponent in 2020.

Georgia

Darius Pattillo—Henry County, Georgia. Receiving just under $150,000 from Soros through the Georgia Safety and Justice PAC, Patello was elected in 2016 and has remained the most unremarkable Soros-backed DA elected to date. In fact, Soros’s funding of Patello nearly went unreported, possibly because Patello does not seem to share the radical views of his fellow Soros DAs.

Illinois

Kim Foxx—Cook County (Chicago), Illinois. Probably the most famous Soros-backed DA, Foxx was boosted into office with the help of $2 million in Soros cash. Foxx has most recently been in the news for potential ethics violations in her 2019 decision to drop charges against Jussie Smollet for his infamous hate crime hoax. (Smollett was recently convicted on the same charges.) Foxx has also made headlines for presiding over Chicago’s largest spike in homicides in more than 30 years while her office dropped charges against 30 percent of felony defendants during 2020.

Louisiana

James Stewart—Caddo Parish, Louisiana. Probably the least well-known and least radical Soros-funded DA, James Stewart was elected as the DA of Caddo Parish, Louisiana, in 2015 with the help of more than $930,000 in funding from Soros. Stewart has enacted few radical reforms since his election, potentially a disappointing result for Soros. His opponents at the time worried that his progressive views on criminal justice would be “detrimental to the safety of Caddo Parish.”

Mississippi

Scott Colom—Circuit Court District Sixteen, Mississippi. Another of the lesser-known Soros-funded Das, Colom quietly received over $926,000 in funding from Soros to help unseat a long-time incumbent in 2015. Colom oversees  District 16 in Mississippi, which includes Lowndes, Oktibbeha, Clay, and Noxubee Counties. Colom was recently recommended by Rep. Bernie Thompson (D-MS) for a position as a judge for the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of Mississippi. Meanwhile, violent crime, specifically gun violence, remains a serious and growing problem for cities and counties in the 16th Circuit, a problem that Colom has been accused of doing little to combat.

Jody Owens—Hinds County, Mississippi. Aided by a $500,000 contribution from Soros’s Mississippi Justice and Public Safety PAC, Owens was elected in 2019 after running on a platform that promised reform and “alternatives to incarceration.” Owens brought controversy with him to the DA’s office. In 2019, Owens was accused of sexually harassing his female colleagues while working at the Southern Poverty Law Center, an organization with a well-documented proclivity for enabling and ignoring sexual harassment in the workplace.

Owens has also recently brought highly questionable murder charges against two police officers. The charges were dismissed with prejudice for lack of evidence that officers “caused any injury” to the alleged victim. Under Owens, Jackson has become one of the deadliest cities in the nation, and in 2021 the city saw over 150 homicides (98 murders per 100,000 residents), an all-time high.

Missouri

Kim Gardner—St. Louis, Missouri. One of the most famous and polarizing Soros-backed DAs, Kim Gardner has served as the circuit attorney of crime-ridden St. Louis since 2017 and has repeatedly used her office to prosecute conservatives while allowing criminals to walk free.

In 2018, Gardner launched a bogus criminal investigation against Missouri’s Republican governor, which led to a special investigation into her office that found probable cause that Gardner engaged in professional misconduct by hiring a private investigator who has since been charged with perjury and evidence tampering. Gardner was also the lead attorney in the absurd prosecution of Mark McCloskey, but was removed from the case by a judge who wrote “the Circuit Attorney’s conduct raises the appearance that she initiated a criminal prosecution for political purposes.”

Gardner was caught lying about police officers who pulled her over for driving without headlights at night, has admitted to campaign finance violations, and has badly mishandled murder cases. The year after Gardner’s election, St. Louis became the murder capital of the nation, but this did not stop Soros from contributing $116,000 to aid her reelection in 2020. In early 2021, St. Louis became one of the deadliest cities in the world.

New Mexico

Raul Torrez—Bernalillo County (Albuquerque), New Mexico. Although his ties to Soros are less well known and his ideas are slightly less radical, Albuquerque’s DA also got his start from $107,000 in Soros cash that boosted his unopposed campaign in 2016. As of mid-November, Albuquerque had experienced 102 homicides in 2021, the highest number ever recorded, compared to the 67 reported at the same time last year.

Meanwhile, Torrez is busy campaigning for New Mexico Attorney General. Soros’s money is likely to make an appearance in that upcoming race as well.

New York

Alvin Bragg—Manhattan, New York. One of Soros’s newest DA’s, Bragg was elected in 2021 as the DA of Manhattan, largely thanks to approximately $1.1 million given by Soros that year to groups supporting Bragg. Even though Bragg has barely been in office, his tenure is already shaping up as a disaster. After Bragg released a memo stating that his office would not be seeking prison sentences for crimes such as armed robbery, drug dealing, and burglary, more than nine prosecutors in Manhattan quit. Interestingly, one area where Bragg is not expected to be overly lenient is an investigation into President Donald Trump’s business practices, which Bragg conveniently took over after assuming office.

David Clegg—Ulster County, New York. Soros cash to the tune of at least $184,000 was used to push Ulster County DA David Clegg across the finish line in his 2019 election, but it was also the source of a major controversy at the time. In an embarrassing guffaw, the New York Justice and Public Safety PAC paid for mailers that featured Clegg shaking hands with a prominent criminal and left-wing activist. Under Clegg, gun crimes and shootings have surged dramatically, and high profile cases have been badly mishandled, including a murder case in which the suspect was released because Clegg’s office failed to file an indictment on time.

Pennsylvania

Larry Krasner—Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Among the most famous Soros-backed DAs, Krasner has been supported by more than $2 million from Soros funneled through the Pennsylvania Justice and Public Safety PAC and the Philadelphia Justice and Public Safety PAC. Krasner was reelected in 2021 with the help of a $259,000 contribution from Soros. Under Krasner’s watch, crime rates have soared, and in 2021, Philadelphia became the murder capital of the United States with the highest per capita homicide rate of the country’s 10 largest cities.

Jack Stollsteimer—Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Lesser known but also well financed by Soros, Stollsteimer was the first Democratic DA ever elected in Delaware County, boosted by roughly $100,000 in ads paid for by Soros during 2019. While still undoubtedly a progressive, Stollsteimer is much less radical than Krasner and has not been openly hostile to police. He did, however, recently feud with police over the graphic details of a report on a rape in broad daylight on a train with many witnesses, none of whom tried to intervene. During Stollsteimer’s first year in office, homicides in Delaware County increased 127 percent, though many attribute this to the county’s proximity to Philadelphia.

Texas

Joe Gonzalez—Bexar County (San Antonio), Texas. George Soros has even dared to mess with Texas. Joe Gonzalez is one of Soros’s favorite DAs, receiving nearly $1 million in backing from the billionaire during his 2018 campaign, upsetting incumbent Democrat Nico LaHood in the primary. Just as in Dallas, violent crime reportedly increased by 15 percent in San Antonio under Gonzalez, while convictions dropped by 17 percent.

John Creuzot—Dallas County, Texas. Backed by an estimated $236,000 from Soros, Creuzot became the DA of Dallas County in 2018 and immediately moved forward with a plethora of radical reform policies, including decriminalizing theft under $750, criminal trespass, and drug possession. During his first year in office crime reportedly increased by 15 percent while total convictions dropped by 30 percent. Most recently, Creuzot failed to get a conviction in straightforward case against Billy Chemirmir, a Kenyan immigrant charged with murdering and robbing 18 elderly women in assisted living facilities. He was found with his alleged victims’ personal papers and jewelry in his possession at the time of his arrest.

Brian Middleton—Fort Bend County, Texas. Although it went unnoticed and unreported by the media, Soros played a major role in the 2019 campaign of Fort Bend County DA Brian Middleton, spending nearly $200,000 on advertising in support of his campaign. Middleton has been extremely moderate as far as Soros-backed candidates go, and as a result Fort Bend County has not seen a dramatic spike in crime.

Kim Ogg—Harris County (Houston), Texas. In 2016, Kim Ogg became the state’s first Soros-backed DA after Soros spent more than $600,000 on the race. As one of the first reform DA’s backed by Soros, Ogg is also one of the most moderate. She has stopped prosecuting marijuana offenses, but often seeks high cash bail, causing her to be ostracized by many progressives and apparently Soros.

José Garza—Travis County (Austin), Texas. In 2020, Garza was elected as Austin’s DA with the aid of more than $400,000 in ads paid for by the Texas Justice and Public Safety PAC, one of Soros’s private PACs that has received roughly $3.6 million from the billionaire since its creation in 2018. Since assuming office, Garza has developed a reputation for letting violent offenders go free on little to no bail.

In 2020, Garza released hundreds of inmates from jail over COVID-19 protocols, even though only six people in Austin at the time were known to have COVID-19. In 2021, Garza released a man with eight prior felony convictions after he was caught toting a gun in a meth-fueled car chase with police. After his release with an ankle monitor, the man allegedly went on a crime spree committing 10 armed robberies. Since Garza was elected, police budgets have been slashed, and Austin has experienced skyrocketing crime rates and a record number of homicides.

Virginia

Parisa Dehghani-Tafti—Arlington County and City of Falls Church, Virginia. Backed by over $600,000 from the Justice and Public Safety PAC, one of George Soros’s many personal PACs, Dehghani-Tafti won her 2019 election by toppling a moderate Democratic incumbent and has been a center of controversy ever since. Dehghani-Tafti, along with several other Soros-backed DAs in Virginia, is facing a recall petition after crimes like felony aggravated assault rose 40 percent during her first year in office.

Steve Descano—Fairfax County, Virginia. Steve Descano, who is also facing a recall petition, was elected in 2019 and has endorsed a progressive platform typical of the left-wing DA faction. Descano has made it his office’s official policy not to prosecute more than 20 different crimes including shoplifting for goods under $1,000, prostitution, and indecent exposure. Descano’s initial campaign benefitted from approximately $600,000 from Soros.

Buta Biberaj—Loudoun County, Virginia. As Loudoun County District Attorney, Buta Biberaj has championed an anti-incarceration approach to the job, but made headlines for personally seeking jail time for Scott Smith, a father who was arrested for misdemeanor disorderly conduct at a Loudoun County School Board meeting while protesting the School Board’s cover-up of his 14-year-old daughter’s rape by a transgender boy in a school bathroom. Smith’s defense attorneys reported that it was “completely unheard of” for a DA to personally handle a misdemeanor, much less to pursue jail time, court-ordered anger management, and a hefty fine. Biberaj’s campaign in 2019 was boosted by over $650,000 in Soros cash, and she is now facing a recall petition.

Ramin Fatehi—Norfolk County, Virginia. One of the latest additions to Soros’s collection of rogue prosecutors, Ramin Fatehi was one of very few Democrats to win a Virginia election in 2021, largely thanks to about $220,000 in funding from Soros. Fatehi has yet to make a name for himself as DA, but he ran on the typical progressive platform of promising to abolish cash bail and decriminalize marijuana possession.

Using the same playbook successfully followed in Hungary, Greece, Britain, and a dozen other countries, Soros-funded groups were behind anti-Trump mobs that blocked streets, set fires, injured police officers, and destroyed property the day after his 2017 national election. As expected, they turned up the volume in 2020.

(RepublicanWire.org) – The Twitter board of directors accepted Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s $43 billion offer to buy all outstanding shares to bring the platform firmly under his control. Twitter was reportedly more receptive to a deal after Musk managed to secure $46.5 billion in financing. MRC President Brent Bozell welcomed the news on Twitter: “Today marks a new milestone in the fight for free speech. For the leftists, just remember you can always make your own platform if you don’t like it.

Leftists on Twitter predictably lost their minds following news that the world’s richest man’s takeover of the platform.

Media analyst Thomas Baekdal’s reaction to the news perfectly summed up the left’s response to the conquering of their censorship-obsessed echo chamber by someone who believes in free speech: “A Twitter owned by Musk is so abhorrent to me that I don’t feel like I can be a part of it. This makes me absolutely furious!” Bakedal, who owns the company Baekdal Media, became unhinged and attacked former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey for supporting Musk’s initial appointment to Twitter’s board: “F*** you,” he sniveled at Dorsey.: “Your definition of free speech is the promotion of hate-speech and harassment where only white entitled men will ever feel safe to engage in public.”

Rob Reiner had a conniption over the possibility that a Musk takeover of Twitter could mean the return of former President Donald Trump, whom the platform banned last year.

“Now that Elon Musk is buying Twitter, the question for all of us is: Will he allow a Criminal who used this platform to lie and spread disinformation to try to overthrow the US Government to return and continue his Criminal activity? And if he does, how do we combat it?”

Former Clinton administration Labor Secretary Robert Reich, who once claimed Musk’s “libertarian view” of an open internet was the “dream of every dictator,” tried to once again paint Musk as a self-serving tyrant.

“Elon Musk’s real goal has nothing to do with the freedom of others. His goal is the freedom to wield enormous power without having to be accountable to laws and regulations, shareholders, or market competition—which is why he’s dead set on owning Twitter.”

Washington Post columnist Max Boot, who apparently is still “frightened” by a Musk takeover, reiterated his fears and said his consolation would be that Musk doesn’t completely nuke Twitter’s censorship apparatus:

“I still fear that having Elon Musk take over Twitter is bad for democracy, as I argued, but I fervently hope he proves me wrong. He can do some good if he cleans out the bots and fine-tunes, rather than jettisons, the content moderation policies.”

Leftist activist Shaun King, of course, had to make Musk’s pending Twitter purchase about so-called “white power.”

Others on Twitter had different reactions and poked fun at the left for their complaining.

(RepublicanWire.org) – Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has said that the U.S. Capitol riot last January was a “trial run” and that Congress could come under attack again if Republicans regain a majority.

“If we lose the House, this is no joke — January 6 was a trial run, and a lot of people don’t seem to understand that,” the New York Democrat said at a town hall in Queens on Wednesday.

“It was a trial run, and they’re going to come back if they win the House,” she continued. “The only reason it wasn’t worse is that Democrats had the House, and they didn’t have the votes.”

“If they take the House, then they have the votes not to authorize and legitimize the presidential election, whatever the results are. So this is very serious,” added Ocasio-Cortez.

The truth is AOC is trying to scare Democrats to go vote during the 2022 mid-term elections. Democrats know it isn’t looking good for their party. AOC’s newest claim is just desperate.
